    Thanks for telling us
I especially like when people reply with how they use there settings and tell us why they use it that way

Great video, Scott… the info on ‘enhanced’ had definitely been missed on my end, too. Thanks buddy.

You hit the nail right on the head with this one. Hopefully not with your detector that is.... One of the reasons I purchased the manticore was for this feature. I have been under power lines with other detectors before and they were just chatting away until you had to tune them down. Now with the manticore within the same areas, I felt I had the advantage here. I have pulled 3 silvers since then with one was a deep one at 8 inches in depth with the power level at 30, enhanced audio and rich. The 8 inch mercury dime came through the manticore sound system clear and clean.
Again , I have a whole new level of areas I have hunted before just because of this one setup features.
Thank you for sharing this feature with others here. I would imagine people out there will be retracing their history for history. Thank you again and take care....

My Manticore will be here Friday Scott and have been watching most your videos on this detector.I also own the Nox 800 so like the sounds of the one region all tomes and two region all tones seems more like the Nox 800 fluted sounds on silver. The profile rich i kind of like since it is modulated and you know you have a deep target at depth with the lower whisper high tone sound it reminds me of my Teknetics Omega 8000 on a deep silver...Thanks for all you do for the Detecting Community and have a great rest of the week..

Read the prospecting sound profile. It was designed to make those small targets sound good. The medium profile does the same for people that like to hear high and low tones. I am like you I dig it all on the beach so prospecting does it all. It won’t let you change to simple or medium because it is designed to find the small targets already. Give it a go.

Hello, Thank you for this amazing video. I just got the Manticore as my first detector. I mean, I had one many years ago. Just two dials, and that's it.
You talk about a book on the Manticore. Would you mind sharing the name of the book and where to get one? Thank you again.

I'm not aware of any book unless I mentioned the manual that you can download from Minelabs site.

You really should explain prospecting with a good volume of threshold hum.
I have dug some insane deep targets with it at the beach. Kinda like an excalibur. Live rhe manticore. Btw, we can do the same with the d2👍

Man, I just got the wife a Manticore 2 days ago. I have the Nox 900, which I like now that I have it somewhat figured out. She(the wife) tbings she wants to get into swinging.. so I figure when she realize its not for her Ill have 2 of the best machines out there..😂
Now on the Manticore, HOLY SMOKE BALLSS the noise is makes!!! Chirping like its having a fit!!! I did TRY to adjust the noise and ground balance some and didn't work. Im starting to think something is wrong with it. Just laying on the ground it makes noise(s).drives me up the wall... any suggestions?

Drop the sensitivity down between 18-22. You won't lose any depth and it will quiet down. Don't forget to noise cancel

I am a big fan of the rich profile. While it may cause you to concentrate on the sounds a bit more (always important anyway), I liken it to using a PI. I especially like it paired with the prospecting theme, where I am listening for those subtle whispers an alterations in the threshold indicative of those deep targets. While not an engineer, the manual refers to modulation of audio taking place in this theme. I wonder if that is a bit confusing as a small weak signal, that is brought up to sound louder and better in simple and medium are likely being processed more by the machine then when in rich profile. Additionally the rich profile offers the ability to better hear those small pieces of foil and other debris that might sound good in other profiles, so I also use it in the normal mode.

awesome video! manticore vs deus 2 which would you choose if you only can have one? its my first detector ever, i know they are difficult to learn but i need just one that i can put all my time to master it. thanks

    • @MentalMetal
      @MentalMetal  Рік тому +2

That's hard to answer. I use them both for different reasons. I don't think you can say one is better than the other. Conditions really dictate when and what to use. I prefer the Manticore for the water and beach detecting. But if I don't know what I'm up against I'll start with the D2 until I figure out what the ground is like.
