When I lived in Morocco I used to love Bissara so much my grandfather would call me "Bou-Bissara", I can't wait to make this myself for the first time!
Let me know how you like it. It sounds like you are the perfect bissara taster a si Bou-bissara 😄. For me it was, chicken skin. I just love them growing up and I was eating every grilled chicken skin. The rest of the family just gave them to me without contention 😄
I do not understand why you do not have more subscribers? Your food looks delicious!! I cooked this recipe yesterday and it was amazing!! Keep sharing more of your yummy recipes!!
Thank you Adriana. I’m glad you enjoyed the bissara 😊. Hopefully UA-cam will put my videos out there a little more but it helps when you share the videos with friends and family 😊 I’m going to Morocco to make some videos there as well. So stay tuned.
I really really love your channel, this makes me feel good to watch our traditional food and makes me miss my family even more. Thank you for sharing our tradition ela ha9o w tri9o
Oh this looks nice. Can I pour it in a blender if I don’t have that blender on a stick? Wow. So many camera angles. You must have multiple cameras. Great looking video.
Thanks Chris ! Yes you can use the blender. Just make sure you leave that upper opening free, so that hot air can escape. Otherwise you will have a mess on your hand. I have two cellphone and the canon M50. So 3 cameras and lots of editing 😂😂😂
Thanks 😄. Still learning. Actually a friend of mine edited this video. We filmed together, I did the VO, some of the broll but it’s helps to have him help on this one !!!
Just made it yesterday ...I didn't have split peas soup over a decade..usually I make it with dried fava beans but somehow no store around me carry it so I went my second choice and guess what ?!! I ATE THE WHOLE DAMN THING i m still digesting 24 h later lol ..btw love ur channel
Hahaha! Out of the two I prefer split peas and it’s very tasty. Like you are eating and thinking this way too simple to be this tasty 😂. But I always have a a second serving and of course lots of bread and more olive oil. Even some Moroccan tea on the side ! So good ! Thank you for watching Joe 😊
You can use a fork or a spoon to mash it. It works well, especially if you cook it a little longer. Most people in Morocco don’t have immersion blender and it’s normal to have chunky bissara 😊
Morocco ,Algeria , and Tunisia share so much food and culture 😊. You can’t always say who has what but we all certainly are proud of our North African cuisine 😊
No kidding, this recipe/dish should be illegal..way too much goidness one can handle without getting into deep troubles lol..or at least should come with a warning man( just to cover ur back in case of some coming lawsuits hehehe WARNING : CAN CAUSE SEVERE ADDICTION . GLOTTONY MAY OCCUR FROM TOO MUCH GOODNESS ...LOL
I mean that level of olive oil, garlic, and cumin would make anything amazing 😂. I should add a warning. No kidding ! This is addictive. In Morocco you can find it everywhere in the winter and the shops are always packed. They operate only in the morning. And they just close when they run out. We have our network of bissara deals 😂

Hi Simo why did you recommending opening the window?
Well, let’s say there is a ridiculous amount of flatulence 😂

I don't have an immersion blender. Is there any other way?

Great. Thanks for sharing that!
Im eating heated up leftovers from January that I froze….. oh my, so simple yet complex and delicious….. why would anyone eat the type with ham?!
I agree. It doesn't need meat at all. The olive oil, the spices, the peas...flavor depth !
Bon courage
Merci a l walida 😄

That’s not specifically moroccan, We cook that too in Algeria we call it bissar
Morocco ,Algeria , and Tunisia share so much food and culture 😊. You can’t always say who has what but we all certainly are proud of our North African cuisine 😊
Brother can i cook without soaking the lentils?
Yes but then you need a pressure cooker !
Otherwise, it will take forever !
Hadi khassa fi had bard
Oui dial berd had bissara
Bro save just a drop of oil.

Call the cops 😂😂 my friend too much olive oil isn’t good for you , olive oil doesn’t digest in the body
Just got back from Morocco. Was told to try this but didn’t see it on any menus, so next best thing, I’ll make it at home.
Give it a try at home, it’s a great soup. Next time in northern Morocco you should try. Easy soup with so much depth of flavor !
