My, 3.5 years old son has got a 2nd degree esophagus chemical burn.
By our mistake, his mother left dishwashing liquid easy to access, he drunk some of concentrate alkaline "soap".
This happened one+ year ago. He spent 2 months at intensive health therapy in 2020. His name is Peter (Petya) by the way...now he is 3.5 years old
Since one+ year, nowadays, he is much better, but he still has problems with swallowing.
We take him for an "esophagus wide procedure" each 2 months. This helps for a while, but soon his esophagus get narrow and food stack. it just does not go down to stomach... and he needs it to go back - that is bad process. Hard to see him struggling with pushing food back! (this is not regular vomiting)
They, the doctors, use various size of rubber or silicone bougienage to poke into the esophagus and stay for 10-15 minutes while the kid is sleeping. It is done under anesthesia.
And the doctors give us special oil they make at the hospital to drink to prevent esophagus inflammation. The oil is 1977 recipe by Zhukov (they say there is nothing newer or modern. The oil contains: penicillin, metronidazolum, prednisolone, metronidazolum, lidase, vaseline oil, sunflower oil and, sometimes ,lidocaine. It is bitter. Very bitter. 9 of 10!
Can I just ask.. my be there is some VERY NEW, modern researches we don't know yet"
Is there something NEW to prevent scar tissue from growing back?
I need help to heal my boy!

I am so sorry this happened. Children can be so quick. I am glad Petya is better. I am a paramedic and much better at emergencies than long-term care. As far as I know the esophageal stretching is what is best, but I will research it and see if I can find any other treatments. I’ll add Petya to my prayers.

@@ToddOyen thanks! Yes we visit our doctor each two months for esophagus widening procedure. It is done under gas anesthesia and takes 30 mins.
      It helps for a while.
I need information, if this information exists, about any specific pills or medicine that help esophagus scar tissue be more elastic. I wrote to mayo research clinic, but don't have any answer yet.
I have to help my boy somehow I don't know yet.
The big problem - I am in Russia. Two years ago it was hard to buy basic peneciline and prednisolone for his oil mixture.
It was liquid dish washing soap "eco" and "green", alkaline, NaHCO3, but that didn't help much. It caused big problems.

I’ve asked around and I haven’t heard of another treatment other than esophageal stretching. I will keep checking.

@@ToddOyen Thank you Todd. We still go for the procedure for years.. but at least now we teach my kid to chew his food well . There are stands (romb-srpings) for mature or older people, but not for kids
