The fact that we couldn’t envision how NewJeans were going to display their vocals for this song and the anticipation build up was what made the element of surprise so REAL! This proves that NewJeans NEVER MISSES! This song is so EPIC!!!
For a little point of information, this clip tells the story of a particular player (Deft), and all the lyrics are really in agreement with his story which is the charm of Gods, as a LOL player, it's enough to bring tears to your eyes and it makes you want to listen to NewJeans to discover them!
@@manuelapaiva3600 They just want every world to produced by Imagine Dragon. I mean that would be cool but that will ripped away the quality of the next one. Slightly new touch to the type of song is better and they pulled off perfectly with this song.
So this is a story of a very prominent player in the League of legends pro scene. If you're curious I wrote out basically what the cinematic depicts. Anyone mentioned, Deft, Faker, Keria are all players. Gen.g T1, EDG Fnatic are team organizations. Oh and Zed, Karma, Caitlyn, Viktor are champions that players play as! Full breakdown for anyone curious(at least what I know): the beginning school scene and baron fight is a nod to Deft and Faker having gone to the same school growing up, you can see Faker in the school scene and he's the Zed fighting baron after. Followed by his time with Samsung Blue. Then to his time with EDG where they lost 3-0 to Rekkles and Fnatic. Followed by his time on DRX WITH Keria in 2020 where they lost to Damwon in the quarterfinals. Into their quarter final win vs EDG, Deft on Draven, Meiko on Renata, followed by their semi final win over Gen.G, Deft on Varus and Doran on Renekton, and concluded with Faker on Victor, Keria on Karma and Deft on Caitlyn which were the champions they all played in the deciding game 5 of the finals series!
The guy with the shield (Keria) who sacrifices the life to protect him, is on the enemy team at the last game, where Deft becomes world champion. So he basically had to defeat his friend in order to win.
@@LoLeanderxin 2020 he promised Deft in a interview "He (Keria) would win worlds for Deft and would do anything" which is why he is "sacrificing" himself for Deft in one of the Szenes.
This song is so vocally challenging! Danielle did an amazing low note at the bridge.. The last chorus was fire! Minji was doing adlibs as well. There is a high head voice, and the sustained high notes by Hanni.. what more can you ask for...
Yep. All the of the people seen in this video are pro players that Deft (The main character followed here) has been teammates with and then faced as opponents(once they went separate ways, besides faker) at the world championship in his decade long career. He finally managed to win it for the first time last year (very unexpectedly, crazy story-line for those that follow league), so they've chosen to feature him in this worlds anthem.
@@kingarmish😂😂😂😂😂 let's say it's not giving the energy...but saying high pitch...bro do listen to music at all??? Or you like the crazy sounds and the noisy type of music... because they delivered the vocals so well
@@xxDxxism well perspective matters, as you guys kpop stans might find this attractive for sure but if we go with worlds previous themes this below par. Better than last year for sure but to put this in legends never die is crime.
I'm gonna give a shot at giving the story behind the video in a way that's more newcomer friendly. The video basically follows the story of Deft and his journey to try to win Worlds (basically like the international superbowl of league). Deft has always been Worlds champion quality but generally agreed upon has never been on the right team at the right time. The shot with him in the classroom shows him watching someone talk to Faker (the guy in the glasses), who is generally agreed upon to be the goat of league. The most iconic multi-time Worlds champion. As the joke goes, Deft can't say he's the best player to come out of his high school... because Faker went to his high school. The scenes that follow are shots of Deft losing different Worlds. Every time he's wearing a different jersey is showing he's on a new team. A few notable shots are the ones where there are teammates with him. Meiko (guy with the lantern), Doran (guy wielding the lamp), and Keria (the guy who died blocking a shot with his shield). Each shot is him losing with these teammates. Keria's one was pretty sad. Finally when he's falling and gets picked up, we are now at last year's Worlds. Deft gets picked up by DRX, a team I believe no one thought would win Worlds at the start. In fact they were 4th seed in their own region (Korea) and because of that it means they didn't make it onto the group stage. To keep the explanation of the Worlds format brief, basically the top teams of each region qualify for the "group stage". As 4th seed that means DRX didn't make it; but; they did qualify for play-ins which is basically a gauntlet of minor regions and other teams that barely didn't make it in their regions. When Deft and DRX are shown rising from below the stage, it's symbolic of them fighting through play-ins for their spot on the main stage. Now remember when I said Deft was never at the right team at the right time? And remember the teammates that I mentioned that he lost with? What comes next is Deft going through Worlds and beating all his former teammates. First comes Meiko that he strikes down with spinning axes. Next comes Doran that he pierces with an arrow. And finally it's Keria, the one who shielded him in the past, who he now almost brings down with a sniper shot... until Faker arrives. His former teammate and the man who's legacy has been shadowing him ever since high school are about to end his run... until his team arrives and swing the tides bringing down Faker and Keria. In the end Deft picks up the trophy, DRX achieve one of the most legendary underdog runs in league's history, and we see a whole host of player's itching for their shot at the trophy. Hope this explanation is digestible. I saw other explanations with team names and player names and I figured for people without knowledge of league they would be hard to understand.
The song is so good, and for anyone not familiar with League of Legends Worlds, normally there is a big presentation of the anthem of that years championship the day of the finals, so thats another thing too look forward, like how will NewJeans do a performance of this song
This is the Anthem for the League of Legends World Championship (also called WORLDS) The music video portrays a pro player named Deft and his journey into becoming the Worlds Champion. In the first part, he went to the same high school with Faker, who achieved glory early on in his career and won 3 World Championships (seen as him slaying the bigger monster 'Baron') The next few scenarios are him trying to win the championship with some of his former teammates • In 2014, he was knocked out by Samsung White (Pawn who holds a long hammer) in Semis • In 2015, He and his former teammate Meiko (the one with lantern) was knocked out by Fnatic (Rekkles with Electic shurikens) at quarterfinals • He then goes fast forward getting barraged by attacks as he gets kicked out multiple times (2016 - Quarterfinals, 2018 - Quarterfinals) • He was knocked out from Quarterfinals in 2020 too with his former teammate Keria (with the shield) who promised him they will win the trophy (They lost to eventual champions Damwon Gaming) • Deft was thrown down deep and his new squad raised him up as they rise from the bottom as the underdog who had to fight through play-ins up to Finals. • He meets his former teammate Meiko in Quarterfinals in a reverse sweep with his Draven (spinning axe) • He also meets his former teammate Doran (giant) • He finally meets Keria again, but as an enemy in the Grand Finals, with Faker, the undisputed GOAT and whom he went to the same high school with. • Deft's team is shown in their final picks in the final game of Worlds that led them to their trophy (The Trophy Deft has been chasing since 2013) Trivia: 2022 League of Legends Worlds Championship Finals received Sports Emmys for "Esports Championship Coverage" for the Cinderella run made by this team. Great reaction! I wanna give the backstory of the video so the song is easier to understand. This video follows Kim Hyuk-kyu (player ID: Deft) who won the League of Legends World Championship with DRX last year. The video starts with Deft and Faker attending high school together as both are up and coming megatalents at playing League. However, their careers go way more differently to each other. Whilst Faker has won 3 world championships, made 5 finals and is widely regarded as the greatest League of Legends (and overall, esports) player ever, Deft before last season was known as a talented loser. He hadnt made it past the quarter finals stage at Worlds for 8 years. He was extremely talented, just didnt have that ''it'' factor (or so people thought.) The video shows various defeats Deft experienced at the World Championship throughout the years. The most interesting one is the last. You can see another player sacrificing himself to save Deft, that's Keria. He was Deft's lane partner and teammate back in 2020. Back then, Keria was an up and coming talent, Deft called him the best support player in the world and Keria promised to win Deft a World Championsip. Unfortunately it never happened. They lost to Damwon KIA, one of the greatest LOL teams ever. Then both moved on to new teams. The interesting part about that DRX team is that they were so extremely talented. Keria, Deft, Chovy and Doran are all regarded as some of the best players in the world today and Pyosik also was a future world champion. It was just a bit too early for them. If they stuck together for another year maybe they could've won the World Championship. In 2021, during a disappointing season with HLE, Deft injured his hand. Most people thought that would be it for him and he would retire but no, Deft decided to give himself one LAST shot to win the Worlds Championship. He rejoined DRX at the end of 2021. He was teammates with Kingen and Zeka who were young players many people didnt rate that highly. He also teamed up with Pyosik again. But most importantly, he was paired with BeryL in the bot lane, a veteran who just had been to 2 world championship finals in a row but had been let go by Damwon to pursue ''a better bot lane''. Now its important to understand that there was no expectations for this DRX team, they were complete underdogs and most people thought they would be a middle of the pack team in LCK and not make Worlds. That was largely how their season went. They were doing very good in a practice environment but just couldnt translate it to stage. They were mediocre. They barely scraped into the Summer playoffs but they lost early and finished 6th (LCK only has 4 spots for Worlds). They then had one last shot at the regional qualifiers to make it to worlds. They had 2 GRUELING 5 game series to unexpectedly make it to Worlds, beating LSB. But again, nobody actually had any expectations for them at worlds. They breezed through the play-in stage against weaker teams and got slotted into a group with Rogue (Europe's best team) and Top Esports (China's 2nd best, regarded as best by some) Most people thought their run would be over then and there but no! DRX actually topped that group and TES got knocked out. That was incredibly crazy at the time, TES was thought to have some of the greatest players in the world including Jackeylove and Knight, and Chinese teams rarely get knocked out at group stage. In the quarter finals, their opponents were EDG, the reigning world champions coming from China. 2 ex teammates of Deft, Meiko and Scout were playing for EDG and Deft was a former player of their. DRX fell down 0-2 in this series, 1 game away from elimination. Game 2 was particulary interesting. Deft was hitting the opponents base but couldnt end the game due to a 1 in a MILLION moment. It's hard to explain, just know that most people would give up after that game. Not DRX though, they rallied and they went on to win their next 3 games to make the Semi Finals. This series was played on Deft's birthday. At the end of the series, they gave a birthday cake to Deft during his interview and the whole stadium cheered for him and sang happy birthday. When the interviewer said that Deft hadnt made it past the quarter finals in 8 years, Deft started to cry. It was an extremely touching moment. Their opponents at the semi finals was Gen G, the champions of Korea. DRX was 0-8 vs Gen G throughout the year before the series and Gen G were overwhelming favourites. Gen G also had 2 of Deft's ex teammates in that 2020 DRX team, Chovy and Doran. In hindsight, this was the easiest series for DRX. They fell 0-1 down but went on to win the next 3 games in a fairly comfortable fashion. This was the series that had people starting to consider DRX as serious contenders. Their opponents in the final was T1, The greatest organization in League of Legends history and the team of Keria and FAKER. T1 were extremely dominant that tournament and once again were thought to be overwhelming favourites. People just thought it was a step too far for DRX. They fell 1-0 behind, than equalized to make it 1-1. They then fell behind 2-1 after one of the greatest games in League of Legends history. T1 stole 2 baron buffs from DRX. Most teams would be done mentally after that but the next game was a testament to their most important attribute, mental strength. They bounced back and made it 2-2. Its very rare for a worlds final to go to all 5 games. Its safe to say that every neutral fan was rooting for Deft at that moment. He was so close to finally winning it. The game 5 deserves a 1000 word essay on its own but here's the TLDR: T1 stole another baron but DRX managed to rally and come back in later teamfights, clinching the World Championship. Their toplaner, Kingen was the star that game. He kept them in it. Deft had finally done it. It was another emotional interview that made many people cry. Keria was absolutely distraught and tears at the end of the game. He had won Deft a World Championship but not in the way he wanted. Now, this was all focused on Deft but I wanna give a shout-out to a few other people. Kingen, their toplaner went godmode in the finals and was the star. Pyosik kept DRX in many games with his ''never give up'' mentality. Zeka had one of the best tournaments ever by any player ever and became a household name. Beryl proved that he doesn't need Damwon to succeed. He once again showcased his incredible leadership and innovativeness. If you read this till the end, thank you. Sorry its too long. The story is just so incredibly compelling.
The story they are talking about is Deft vs Faker. Deft and Faker are 2 pro players that went to the same school and grew up together. Faker went on to becoming most legendary league of legend(LOL) player, making millions of dollars and became one of the biggest name in esports history. In the song "Gods" is meant to Faker and his team. Meanwhile deft kept grinding and working hard. Last year at the world championship DRX(Deft) VS T1(Faker) came down to the last map and DRX beaten T1 and finally Deft defeated his God- Faker, the person he looked up all his life.
For someone who wants MV explanation bc it was fabulously done- Story is about Deft and Faker, they were studying in same school and while Faker was winning worlds, Deft was still trying to defeat him again and again.. In mv you can see scenes from their previous stage games, from different seasons with different teams and lastly final scene on worlds 2022 when Deft finally went into finals and said to faker "You won too many times, let me win too " with "underdog team" DRX against Faker in T1 he finally claimed world championship and defeated his demons.
"Brief moment of silence"" " bad girl woke up and chose violence " is sing by minji I know it from First listen she did so well in this song and all girls did so well omg the song is fire and newjeans never miss .
MV Story: Deft (the main character) went to the same school as the best League of Legends player (Faker) Deft lost the worlds championship over and over He faces some of his old team mates at last years championship but finally wins after 10 years against his old team mate (Keria)
I'm not gonna explain the whole story, others have done so already but one KEY part to the story/song is before the bridge, you see Keria defend Deft and make eye contact before losing it all. They were once teammates and worked so well together. Then during the end of the song, it's the Finals of Worlds 2022 and Keria and Deft meet again, but on opposites sides and it's just this triumphant but sad story of "we once wanted this dream for ourselves, but now only one of us can have it. Who will it be?"
Riots Producing/arrangements/and writing are always so good. This is kind of the “classic” league worlds sound LOL The girls fit into it so well it made me want more of this kind of thing from them even if it doesn’t fit their brand 😭 Every time you watch league cinematics and stuff it will definitely make you think you wanna play league. You probably don’t. But the lore pops off I encourage people to get into it if they’re at all interested lol
Riot makes top tier music and videos. I'd suggest checking them all out. The Worlds songs are almost always epic, get you pumped up songs. They also have League character made bands like KDA, Heartsteel, and Pentakill. These bands use game characters as band members and the songs have some big names behind them. I'd be here to watch more League music reactions.
the story behind the song is about Deft who was part of the team that won the international world championships 2022, it took him 10 years to win worlds and was someone people regarded as someone who would never win and always had negative comments about because of his age and injury, but he proved them wrong, he was in a fearless kkura episode where he and sakura played league you guys should def watch

Not only these are all league of legends players, but also each fight portraye in this vieo is an homage to a match that was had in previous competitions, with those players and the champions that they are representing. For instance, the guy that puts his shiel up at 3:17 was his teammate at one point, but then he was on an opposing team in the finals for another tournament at 4:35 they zoom into his face because now they are rivals.
Loved your reaction! Yes its about a player that failed time and time again to win the biggest tournament in league but won with an underdog team. No one expected them to win
Deft is the protagonist of this MV, and he has been competing for over 10 years, last year he was discredited, but even as an underdog he finally managed to win his first world championship. Watch Sakura's program (Le Sserafim) in which he participates, very cool, Kkura also talks about being discredited for trying to debut at an older age. This tribute is so touchig, Deft deserves it ❤
Thank you so much for reacting to deft's tribute song Gods. To explain a little about animation, deft is the record until the 10th-year professional gamer won last year. At this time, it was a huge underdog win, so the lyrics say underdog
I'm leaving this because someone summarized it in a comment. Here's some lore and background info from user @vedatkayahan on the mv 1 - 00:08 We start the story at Mapo High School. Faker (left) and Deft (back right) went to the same high school, but unlike in the clip, they did not share the same class. Years later, these two teenagers would be pitted against each other in the most epic final in League of Legends history. 2 - 00:22 We see Deft with the blue power-up and Faker with the Baron. It's a reference to the level difference in the early years of their careers. Faker entered the scene from the top. Deft had years of climbing ahead of him. In the clip, we focus on Deft's struggle. 3 - 00:49 2013. Deft at his computer. Faker was competing at Worlds for the first time in his career, while Deft had to watch the tournament from home. On the right side we see Jinx and Vi posters. Jinx debuted before Worlds 2013. 4 - 00:58 We're at Worlds 2014. Samsung Blue vs Samsung White matchup. We see Pawn (Jayce) hunting Deft (Lucian). Deft's first Worlds adventure ends in the semi-finals. 5 - 01:11 Worlds 2015! Deft is wearing an EDG jersey, with Meiko. The opponent is Fnatic with Rekkles! FNC pushes EDG out of the tournament. Deft's quarterfinal curse that will last for years begins here. This curse would ironically be broken against Meiko. 6 - 01:22 After 2015 we skip a bit fast and don't see another Worlds reference until 2020. During this period Deft: > EDG / Worlds 2016: Lost to ROX in the quarterfinals. > KT / Worlds 2017: Did not participate > KT / Worlds 2018: Lost to IG in the quarterfinals. > KZ / Worlds 2019 : Did not participate. 7 - 01:31 Worlds 2020! DWG vs DRX quarterfinal matchup. On the DRX side, we see Doran and Keria. Let's put these two old friends on the list. On the DWG side, we have Canyon and ShowMaker. Deft says goodbye to Worlds for the 4th time in the quarterfinals. 8 - 02:18 We don't see Worlds 2021, but let's remember that in that tournament Deft lost to T1, also in the quarterfinals. He was wearing the HLE jersey. The scene below is a reference to the formation of the DRX 22 roster. Zeka, Pyosik, Beryl and Kingen pick Deft up from the ground. 9 - 02:22 And now we're at Worlds 2022. No one would be surprised if DRX didn't make it to Worlds. They had a very bad season. They started the championship from the preliminary round and there was no team that came from the preliminary round and became champions. Their rise begins. Time to visit old friends! 10 - 02:25 Worlds 2022 - Quarter Final DRX vs EDG Deft versus his old friend Meiko. It's goodbye to the quarterfinal curse! DRX wins 3-2. Deft is back in the semifinals after 2014! + EXTRA Although not mentioned in the clip, what made this scene epic was the fact that Meiko and EDG had won Worlds the previous year. Deft and Meiko had once dreamed of this together, and Meiko's dream had come true long before. 11 - 02:38 Worlds 2022 - Semi Final DRX vs GEN This time we are witnessing Deft vs Doran. The score is 3-1, Deft and DRX are in the final! 12 - 02:48 And finally, the finale! Deft faces off against his younger brother Keria. After the loss at Worlds 2020, Deft moved on with DRX and Keria went to T1. T1 is the most prestigious team in the world and has the greatest player in the world: FAKER! 13 - FINAL 03:30 Faker is a legend, Deft is a name that has been away from success for years. T1 is the biggest in this world and DRX is just an underdog. In these circumstances, we watched the most epic final in history and the most unexpected thing happened. DRX is the champion!
This song is very much in line with the type of songs they release for worlds. MOST of them are this epic kind of anthem. Idk what you guys usually react to, but if you liked this one, I think you'd enjoy Warriors, Legends Never Die, Take Over, Rise, Burn it all down, amongst others (there are videos of all of them compiled into one so you don't have to figure out the order and all that). This has been a thing they do since 2014 when they released Warriors - Imagine Dragons. Idk if you watched arcane, but clearly LoL (or Riot, the company) and Imagine Dragons love each other, as they also made the intro song (Enemy) for that show. Riot in general have released a lot of great music for League and their other games. They even have their own virtual k-pop group made up of some of the playable characters called K/DA (kills/deaths/assists). So the video: The story of the player "Deft"s failed attempts at winning the world championship to others teams over the years, until he finally won last year. They won against a team that has the player Faker (one of the worlds best players, has won the worlds championship 3 times). Deft and Faker went to the same school, so the story goes full circle, from first scene with them in the same classroom, and then Deft beating faker and winning at the end. Some of these anthem videos (which are released every year before worlds) depict the stories of the team that won the year previous. At the end you can see members of the teams that are in worlds this year.
Solid worlds song. All the animated characters shown are actual players. This story is about Deft, and it’s pretty inspiring. He went to school with Faker (dude in the glasses), the Lebron James in LoL, saw him popped off, so he started grinding. He lost in Worlds multiple times. In 2022, he faced his old teammates in different teams, beating them one by one. He fought Faker and his team in the final and defeated them, therefore, Deft and his team took home the trophy.
I cant wait till you guys react to their live performance to this once the finals occur, i saw the 2019 one live were Soyeon from G-Idle performed and it was amazing.
Most of worlds songs tell the story of last years winners and the struggles they had to go through, like losing on stage the year before which was being shown on screen until the last scene where DRX defeated T1, T1 has won the most world championships to date. This years worlds winners will most likely be in the the next worlds anthem in 2024. Hope this explanation helps a little great video you too, I enjoyed your reactions. Have a great rest of your day 😄.
Quick summary of what happens in the video: The main character is deft and he was with Faker (most famous player in the world and the best player in history of LOL) in the same school when faker debuted. The video tells the story of deft and how he loses every year in worlds until the end of the video which represent last year worlds when he won vs faker (It's much more epic if you know the compleatly detailed story but that is like the main plot). There is also a lot of little references to his past teammates throughout the years and in the finals of last year (which he won) he appears beatinig one of his past teammates and faker. So is kind of like a overcoming story where he went from being a random guy in the same school as Faker to wining worlds vs Faker
All of the characters in the MV are actual pro players from league. Faker being one of the most famous in the World as he is called the Best Player of League. He just won actually a gold medal in the asian olimpics in China a few days ago along with Keria that was also one of the people that we saw in the MV.
So Deft started back in 2013 along side with Faker who was much better than Deft. In 2014 he got his first big break for success. He made it to the semifinals where he would then fall to his sister team in Samsung White. (As seen in the desert fight.) In the follow year he left his home country of Korea to join EDG who was located in China. He would then fall in quarterfinals with his teammate Meiko (a chinese player) to a European team in Rekkles who was also young in his career. Deft would then sit back and get barraged by random attacks which is a reference to the same thing every year. Then it cuts to the 2020 Run with his two other teammates in Doran and Keria. He would then fall again in Quarterfinals with Doran and Keria both leaving teams (Deft also left the team for a year). Deft later returned to DRX (the 2020 team) for his final year (Cause he said at the time, he was going to do his mandatory military service in which a graduate male Korean student is forced to do. Deft did graduate on the side while playing the game competitively.). His 2022 run was his last dance on a team that struggled domestically. But barely qualifying for the Worlds as the worse team from Korea. Deft and his team had to go through so many champions of regions (Europe Champions, Korea's Champions, Winners Tournament aka MSI Champions, Vietnam Champions, Defending World Cup Champions, the perfect season champions.) Then Deft and his 4 other teammates had to go through the defending Worlds Champions in the first round who is none other than his old team EDG with Meiko. Then had to go through Korea's Champions who had 2 of Deft old Teammates in Doran and Chovy (Chovy was also on DRX in 2020). And finally his ex teammate he had to take down is Keria. But Keria was with the same guy at the start of the video. The same guy Deft went to school with, Faker. 10 years after both walking difference paths with Faker always being better than Deft. And Deft making the miracle run for the ages. Deft then complete his last dance as he took down the same kid who was better than him 10 years ago.
Riot's music is amazing, and they always do incredible Worlds Opening shows with whatever artists they're collabing with on a given year I'll be looking forward to that this year, and I recommend checking out at the very least the 2018 Worlds opening, with K/DA!
You should seriously consider checking out more league anthems or the arcane series and its soundtrack. league has a huge musical and cinematic universe.
If you liked the animation here you should totally check out KDA next! Even if you know some of the songs I think its worth seeing the videos. League is known for their excellent MVs
It's so lovely how you both feel that part of the song at the same time. You're both connected, that's so beautiful. I loved your reaction, thank you very much.
Yes they’re real players in this vid but it focuses on one player in particular named “deft”. He’s Korean and been a pro player for a for over a decade now and only just won his first world title at the world championship last year. This vid follows his career and the different teams he was on till he finally holds the World Cup up at the end of the vid. Deft is also my all time fav player so this one hit 🥹
btw the story is a real story with 2 friends from the same school started playing league since the begging , one is the most famous player of all time with 3 world championships on his belt and the other guy the main charachter falling short a lot of times to win one until last year , this story starts since 2012 ^^
Kess and Han PLEASE react to other league of legends music… it’ll all make you feel godly like this one. Though id be shocked if you havent seen or heard them already
League actually love working with Kpop idols, this is not the first time!! We also have I’ll show you by KDA - where they work with Twice Giants by True Damage where they work with Soyeon from G-idle Popstars by KDA with Madison Beer and also Soyeon Really recommended videos!!

And that's what so many lol fans are missing. They just wanted a song where they just shout
The whole worlds final last year could have been a kdrama, it was so good.
NewJeans? 🐰

Danielle did an amazing low note at the bridge..
The last chorus was fire! Minji was doing adlibs as well. There is a high head voice, and the sustained high notes by Hanni.. what more can you ask for...
Pretty sure the bridge is actually Haerin. You’re talking about the down on my knees praying for glory right.
@parasol3561 No, he's about I can't lose myself again part which is Danielle
the first bridge is Danielle
Minji's english sucks
Yeah the lowest note in bridge is Danielle
the day MHJ actually lets the girls belt high notes is the end of us
And gives us more bridge

Also the use of lower tones

Newjeans discography and versatility is unmatched. They really can do it all.
I was bit nervous how Newjeans gonna sing because league songs is almost so high but Newjeans really did it...hats off😊

As a person who knows nuts about LoL but is interested in Deft's story, this was the perfect summary to read. Thank you so much
That Haerin intro gave me goosebumps omg!

The song is so good, and for anyone not familiar with League of Legends Worlds, normally there is a big presentation of the anthem of that years championship the day of the finals, so thats another thing too look forward, like how will NewJeans do a performance of this song
Well the LEAGE OF LEGENDS champion are Korean
This is the Anthem for the League of Legends World Championship (also called WORLDS)
The music video portrays a pro player named Deft and his journey into becoming the Worlds Champion.
In the first part, he went to the same high school with Faker, who achieved glory early on in his career and won 3 World Championships (seen as him slaying the bigger monster 'Baron')
The next few scenarios are him trying to win the championship with some of his former teammates
• In 2014, he was knocked out by Samsung White (Pawn who holds a long hammer) in Semis
• In 2015, He and his former teammate Meiko (the one with lantern) was knocked out by Fnatic (Rekkles with Electic shurikens) at quarterfinals
• He then goes fast forward getting barraged by attacks as he gets kicked out multiple times (2016 - Quarterfinals, 2018 - Quarterfinals)
• He was knocked out from Quarterfinals in 2020 too with his former teammate Keria (with the shield) who promised him they will win the trophy (They lost to eventual champions Damwon Gaming)
• Deft was thrown down deep and his new squad raised him up as they rise from the bottom as the underdog who had to fight through play-ins up to Finals.
• He meets his former teammate Meiko in Quarterfinals in a reverse sweep with his Draven (spinning axe)
• He also meets his former teammate Doran (giant)
• He finally meets Keria again, but as an enemy in the Grand Finals, with Faker, the undisputed GOAT and whom he went to the same high school with.
• Deft's team is shown in their final picks in the final game of Worlds that led them to their trophy (The Trophy Deft has been chasing since 2013)
Trivia: 2022 League of Legends Worlds Championship Finals received Sports Emmys for "Esports Championship Coverage" for the Cinderella run made by this team. (twitter.com/sportsemmys/status/1660801508479471616?t=f5RiXWri5tpswsnXQ6XwQw&s=19)
It's hard to explain to people who didn't watch this epic journey and who didn't play game. But you tried, good job.
I got emotional after reading it. Thank You. Deft really deserves this tribute. The anthem is his story! :)
I followed Worlds 2022 closely and this is such an amazing summary, thank you!
Sounds like a truly epic underdog story. They should make a movie about it.
It was a touching and amazing story , I'm in awe man.
I'm going to the Worlds finals so Imma hear this performed live for the first time 😍
For someone who wants MV explanation bc it was fabulously done- Story is about Deft and Faker, they were studying in same school and while Faker was winning worlds, Deft was still trying to defeat him again and again..

Deft lost the worlds championship over and over
He faces some of his old team mates at last years championship

I'm not gonna explain the whole story, others have done so already but one KEY part to the story/song is before the bridge, you see Keria defend Deft and make eye contact before losing it all. They were once teammates and worked so well together. Then during the end of the song, it's the Finals of Worlds 2022 and Keria and Deft meet again, but on opposites sides and it's just this triumphant but sad story of "we once wanted this dream for ourselves, but now only one of us can have it. Who will it be?"

This tribute is so touchig, Deft deserves it ❤
Thnx for the explanation of the MV.
Thank you so much for reacting to deft's tribute song Gods. To explain a little about animation, deft is the record until the 10th-year professional gamer won last year. At this time, it was a huge underdog win, so the lyrics say underdog

I'm leaving this because someone summarized it in a comment.
Here's some lore and background info
from user @vedatkayahan on the mv
1 - 00:08 We start the story at Mapo High School.
During this period Deft:
> EDG / Worlds 2016: Lost to ROX in the quarterfinals.
> KT / Worlds 2017: Did not participate
> KT / Worlds 2018: Lost to IG in the quarterfinals.
10 - 02:25 Worlds 2022 - Quarter Final DRX vs EDG
Deft versus his old friend Meiko.
11 - 02:38 Worlds 2022 - Semi Final DRX vs GEN
This time we are witnessing Deft vs Doran.
I love hanni newjeans
Me too I love her manh😫
So the video:
The story of the player "Deft"s failed attempts at winning the world championship to others teams over the years, until he finally won last year.
Amazing release... possibly my favourite song of the year!!!
Danielle slay so hard 😳 her low tone . all was just wow🔥🔥
NewJeans....League of Legends: GODS....GodJeans!!! This song is so good being a new genre for them. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Hyein voice tone is the prettiest !!❤❤❤
this song marks the date of me (long time LOL enjoyer/player) learning about newjeans and kpop in general
IM TELLING YOUUUU THIS ATEEEEEEEEE
NEWJEANS SLAYING THE SONGGGGG
This is so much better if you know the story between DRX. Keria and Deft.
This is also the story of deft and drx winning last year at worlds 2022
newjeans really delivered the epicness a lol anthem needs
I cant wait till you guys react to their live performance to this once the finals occur, i saw the 2019 one live were Soyeon from G-Idle performed and it was amazing.
There will be Live Performance in League of Legend World 2023 Final pre-game ceremony. I'm soooo hyped
Happy to listen New Jeans showing new style of vocal 😊😊😊😊
Most of worlds songs tell the story of last years winners and the struggles they had to go through, like losing on stage the year before which was being shown on screen until the last scene where DRX defeated T1, T1 has won the most world championships to date. This years worlds winners will most likely be in the the next worlds anthem in 2024. Hope this explanation helps a little great video you too, I enjoyed your reactions. Have a great rest of your day 😄.
OMG bài hát này hay quá và newjeans hát cũng rất tuyệt vời .thanks❤
Yes the 2 teams they showed lost of the time were the finalists from last year
Yes yes its so insane. New jeans Majestically Superbly deliver such empowering masterpiece.
All of the characters in the MV are actual pro players from league. Faker being one of the most famous in the World as he is called the Best Player of League. He just won actually a gold medal in the asian olimpics in China a few days ago along with Keria that was also one of the people that we saw in the MV.
Not only that, but it was a major Achievement for Korea. Giving Faker the ability to AVOID MANDATORY MILITARY ENLISTMENT. So he can keep gaming lol
Riot's music is amazing, and they always do incredible Worlds Opening shows with whatever artists they're collabing with on a given year
I'll be looking forward to that this year, and I recommend checking out at the very least the 2018 Worlds opening, with K/DA!
this is not their sound but they slayed so hard
You should seriously consider checking out more league anthems or the arcane series and its soundtrack. league has a huge musical and cinematic universe.
Newjeans slayed
If you liked the animation here you should totally check out KDA next! Even if you know some of the songs I think its worth seeing the videos. League is known for their excellent MVs
League never miss and this time with newjeans 🔥
Does League never miss? haha the last few times they did and this is not as epic as his most beloved hits...
Star Walkin was a miss lol
@exotic_power8474 its was good but not an anthem
@celestecastillo2330 its my own opinion and i agree for me Legends never Die allways on top
It's so lovely how you both feel that part of the song at the same time. You're both connected, that's so beautiful. I loved your reaction, thank you very much.
i just spent 8 hours listening to this song while playing league
If new jeans handle by LoL they have so many great song to show their vocal!
It’s amazing how new jeans can range to different types of music tho
Yes they’re real players in this vid but it focuses on one player in particular named “deft”. He’s Korean and been a pro player for a for over a decade now and only just won his first world title at the world championship last year. This vid follows his career and the different teams he was on till he finally holds the World Cup up at the end of the vid. Deft is also my all time fav player so this one hit 🥹
Hi late but I think you both should react to Our Night is More Beautiful Than Your Day, completely different from this and their other songs:)
btw the story is a real story with 2 friends from the same school started playing league since the begging , one is the most famous player of all time with 3 world championships on his belt and the other guy the main charachter falling short a lot of times to win one until last year , this story starts since 2012 ^^
y'all are the best man
If you’re watching a worlds video for the first time and it makes you wanna play league then it’s done it’s job
the figurines are the most requested ones now and the company is going to make a funko pop version.
Kess and Han PLEASE react to other league of legends music… it’ll all make you feel godly like this one. Though id be shocked if you havent seen or heard them already
The animation of this reminds me of the anime KINGS AVATAR
NEWJEANS WITH ANOTHER BANGER ANTHEM!!
I highly recommend checking out the other Worlds anthems from other years. And there should be a live performance of this in December.
League actually love working with Kpop idols, this is not the first time!!
We also have
I’ll show you by KDA - where they work with Twice
