I love Lara , but in this song her voice sounds very tired, her belting is weaker than usual and high notes lost clarity... hope it´s just temporal condition
Ana Martins While I understand that she does not have a big following in the US and therefore a concert here does not warrant an actual band to accompany her ( it probably doesn’t make financial sense either ) I did not enjoy watching and listening to her sing with a “glorified “ karaoke DJ. Add to that that she has lost some of her vocal power and you get what you see here on this video, a bare bones setting with no real music and no real lighting which did not help her with her ailing voice. It may also be that after watching her 90s and early 00s videos when her voice and passion were so powerful, I expected way too much from her at this point in her career. My expectations were probably unrealistic.
@@juanmontelongo7314 She didn't have musicians this time, but she put some effort into making a concept, the speeches, the background images, the singers, everything creates an atmosphere, it isn't just a 'karaoke' night. And yeah, you were expecting too much, but she is in her own league. There are no other female singers singing the way she does at almost 50 years old, Mariah and Celine would kill to preserve their voices the way she does performing totally live demanding songs during two hours, no pre recorded tracks, no lip syncing. Maybe you think her voice sounds 'ailing' because of the raspy voice she gets sometimes, but that's what happens after having a 30+ years long career, even when she has one of the greatest singing techniques out there she isn't in her 20's anymore so, you could just get used to it... or well... keep enjoying her old live performances.
R S I don’t dispute the effort she puts forth. And I understand she’s 50 years old and her voice is not what it used to be. Precisely for this reason is why she needs musicians and real music in her concerts, so that her voice is enhanced by the live music. I don’t dispute that her voice is still better than most other singers at this stage of their careers, but I personally did not like this austere type of concert. I enjoy musical instruments together with a voice such as hers. But you’re right , I do enjoy watching her old videos and was expecting too much.
Lion Eltink I still like her voice, but the more I listen to her the way she sings today , I no longer LOVE her voice. She has definitely lost a lot of what I loved when she was younger. Maybe her voice suffered after the incident with her sound equipment that allegedly ruptured her ear drums.

We must keep in mind that as we get older, we lose vocal strength. She has maintained clarity but she is no longer 21 years old.
