I loved seeing the Western Painted Turtle, I see them all the time where I live. I helped dig up a nest of them earlier today, with the droughts the ground was rock hard and we got worried the nest we marked in the spring wouldn't be able to dig themselves out. 12 little baby painted turtles. Love your work Mr. Galante!
Forrest as a fellow Californian it looks like you need a defendable space around your house. Wild fires are no joke we lost my entire hometown of paradise ca to wildfire. Now in the spring time is the time to get it done. Live your channel and thank you for an insight on your animals.
This is all awesome. Absolutely love that you rescue all these animals. I rescued a field mouse (western Pennsylvania mouse) I found outside when he was a tiny baby. I got him to his adolescent years and attempted to release him but he just wanted to stay where he was, so he lives in a 20gal aquarium in my living room. Oh and this was 4 years ago, he’s going on his 4th Christmas with us. Don’t know how long they live, but he’s been wonderful.
I really enjoyed the tour of your families pets. Thank you so much for taking the time to give us a personal tour. I sure miss your show extinct or alive. I really enjoy how you tell us all about the animals you were looking for and how excited you would get when you found the animal. ❤❤❤
At 5:47 when he shook the turtle so calmly all i could think of was the turtle freaking out in his shell thinking wtf is happening 😂😂 Been watching forrest years love his stuff ❤
Love little horse and donkey but my fave were the giant toroises. Also love the way you nonchalantly ripped the flowers off to feed them. Great that you saved them all and that they live a wonderful life and are clearly very loved and spoilt!!
Your skink is exactly why I started rescuing them. There are so many species and they easily get confused. Even the Northerns need 40-60% humidity. They are some of the most rewarding animals. The Northern I recently rescued had some gnarly scale root due to her shed never fully coming off in to dry of an environment. 2 months later in the right conditions and her head is looking brand new!
I love watching you nerd out about animals, especially your animals. I can’t believe I waited this long to watch this video! Keep up all the great work you do
Wow! Thanks so much for your wonderful tour Forrest, much appreciated! With so many beautiful turtles in your household, I was surprised to not see a snapping turtle. When i was a young lad, a great friend of mine and I used to go "turtle hunting" on occasion, in Southern Ontario, Canada. There were a number of distinct and gorgeous breeds we caught (and released of course) but my absolute fave were the baby Snappers we caught. With their rugged, spiked shells, long claws and razor sharp beaks, they were truly prehistoric beasts resembling animals that just crawled out of the Mesozoic Era, heh. I think your Son would be quite amazed by their distinct and unique attributes should you elect to adopt one. 🤩 Cheers Buddy!
Videos like this were you just sit and watch these beautiful animals is amazing....I feel cozy rn and at peace in mind and heart...time to play Minecraft again
I love the idea of using native snakes to control pests. Once when I lived in Costa Rica I had a baby boa come up to me on a seawall and I took it home to play with. A local lady I knew asked what I was going to do with it. I promised it to her and kept it a week or so. I fed it a baby chicken. Then I gave it to her to put in their ceiling for bat control. She let it go in the rafters. The bats moved out or got eaten.
omg the little baby turtles are so cute. I had a small red eared slider like that and he was just like those guys. Every time you approached the tank he would come at you and swim in his habitat looking for food. They're so cute and they recognize their owners.
I see a lot of video's with lots of animals like yours but they all live in Florida. It's nice to see someone in my neck of the woods with all the animals I love. I'm from San Jose, Ba.
Your house is amazing, I love it. Thank you for everything you do for the wildlife around the world. I hope that you'll have good luck with your expeditions and make a lot more great finds.
The Blue-tongued skink is a Indonesian blue-tongued skink (Tiliqua gigas), more specifically it's the subspecies known as the Merauke blue-tongued skink (Tiliqua gigas evanescens), they are the biggest of the Indo's (Tiliqua gigas), that also includes the Common Indonesian blue-tongued skink (Tiliqua gigas gigas) and the Kei Island blue-tongued skink (Tiliqua gigas keyensis).
Favorite animal, probably would be Rosie! I love the story on how you saved her life and how long you’ve had her. It’s an amazing testament to reptiles durability. I recently lost my 10 foot Retick in my attic, and I have no crawlspace heartbreaking not knowing if it’s going to survive or not, I moved to Oregon from Santa Barbara about seven years ago and would have loved to have known you lived there and maybe got to spend a little bit of time just talking to you and learning from you would’ve been amazing.
You got this you’ll beat it and you’ve definitely inspired me to love and teach people about animals we have 23 animals 20 being reptiles and 3 being ferrets I’ve been watching you for a long time and you became my idle and I want to open my own Reptarium in ny and I have had some many times I wanted to give up then I watch your videos and look at my fiancé and animals and I think to my self I got this you have lots of people behind you and will push with you your definitely not alone on this battle we all got you Brian
Hey Forrest, your the man and I bow to you but one turtle lover to another, that is for sure a flordia box turtle and not an eastern. Keep up the awsome work. Your my hero!
Love the Rosy boas that have a lot of blue like that, blue-greys etc. Def a very varied boa, tho true boas are quite varied too! I keep Sonoran boas and a Colombian, then the True Red Tails, Bolivian/Brazillian Short Tails, Peru Long Tails etc. So varied! Awesome stuff man, so cool to get kids into animals and reptiles too. Given the negative reputation of reptiles and the stigma etc i especially appreciate that. My son still hasnt warmed up given his moms deep fear of snakes, but we will get there lol
@ForrestGalante Hurricane Katrina was circa 2005! Keep up the great work. I'm a big fan of your work! i've watched your Travel Channel show. Where you were able to map the genome of the (Extinct) Tasmanian Tiger And seen your Joe Rogan Experience Podcast interviews on Spotify. I am also subscribed to your Podcast as well on Spotify!🐖👨🔬🧬🧫
I'm in Nova Scotia. We have the Blandings turtle and painted turtles. Turtles are my favorite animals so I absolutely love Forrest's collection. The 2 from Zimbabwe are amazing. I like the Indian spotted turtle too :)
I used to operate an exotic animal rescue, rehab & rehome ( if possible ). I gave tours to families with children at feeding time. I had nearly EVERY SINGLE representation, of EVERY family of creatures, on earth. Insect ( scorpions ) , mammals, invertebrate, cephalapods ( octopus ) , fish, avian ( birds ) , reptiles, amphibians, corals, sponges, anenomes, crustaceans & so forth
I'm a big fan of all that you do. Always loved animals and reptiles especially. I know what it's like to have tanks in every room. My last reptile was an emydura macquari. I find that turtles are the most interactive reptiles and actually get excited to see you. I'm a property caretaker and pet specialist. I'd love to work for you.
You have my dream. Living in New England we run a "rescue" for animals that need a place to recover and stay. Totally different enviorment so not as many reptiles but a few. It's so great to see them flourish and get better. I'm sure you have enough tough stories the viewers don't need to hear. Good luck. Would love one day to be invited on one of your adventures
Got my start in Zoos at SB Zoo and love your work. Coming back to SB this week for a visit. Love the city and love reptiles just like you! Well done with all your work. Beautiful house and beautiful population of animals.
I was watching this on the side and he said well that's our Garden, I looked up and his standing in a freaking Forest... Forrest, that's not a garden, that's a freaking farm xD Great video!
I love the gopher snake and the rosy boas. Both tanks have the same top ans locking mechanism as my two kingnakes 40 gallon breeder tanks that thwy live in. I am partial to the snakes but loved all the animals. Thanks for thw tour!
New subscriber here. You have such a big heart. My rescues are 2 ferocious pitbull mixes and 4 cats I rescued from the streets. Sadly our Beardie, Farret and our Ball Python passed of old age.
My wife is from Santa Barbara, we visit often. We live in Palm Springs area now. I’d love to bring my kids by to check out your animals. My 14 year old is interning at the Living Desert in Palm Desert.
Hi Forrest I spoke with you at the animal con. I forgot to ask you about a turtle I rescued from the street and I have no clue what kind of turtle it is. I never seen this kind. Is there any way I can send you picks . Please let me know.
Hello Mr. Galante, today I saw and even photographed what I think is an Ivory billed woodpecker because , even though this was in Cancun, I noticed it had a big pointy frill and it wasn’t a piliated woodpecker, because its face was black and only had a big white line in its neck, not in the face.
What's your favorite animal in my home?
This was fantastic, Forrest! Thanks for the tour!
So many beautiful creatures but my favorite has to be Gizzard the lizard, I’ve always loved lizards and I think it’s so funny he loves dog food 😂
Turtles and Tortoises
Leopard softy so cool , I used to have reg soft shell Alligator snapper and stink pot in a baby tank just like that lol I like turtles also
I love donkeys!
I would love nothing more than a 1 hour long video of Forrest and Kenan geeking out on turtles together
This would be amazing 😂 love it
I was just gonna suggest that to all I can see is those to in a video together
Yes! was just gonna sugest them meeting up 😀
I actually thought…. I bet him and Kenan could talk turtles all day and enjoy each other 😂
@@staceyroberts3468 They just released a new vid together 2 weeks ago
What a serene household! I know it can get hectic but it’s beautiful to see someone so in love with nature. The garden was gorgeous!
I love seeing Forest being able to rebuild his childhood environment in his new home with his new family!

How could anyone not love this guy? Forrest is a national treasure.
Absolutley. He is one of my favorite people to watch. Never gets boring, teaches so much, and has the best attitude! So down to earth.
You're a good dude Forrest. This was a pleasure to see!
You’re a good man.
No need for any other “content” than just watching you love all creatures.

Forest is a great soul and incredibly articulate. I could listen to him talk for hours on end. Valuable information and passion❤
One of the coolest backyards I’ve ever seen..🤘
Most underappreciated animal UA-camr ever.
with the glasses on the hat he is definitely giving heavy santa barbra vibes. By miles my favorite animal in his house was his christmas pony Feliz!
Forrest "one of my absolute favorites" Galante
so special what an amazing person you are with a collection to match thank you for caring for your animals.
This was great, thank you for sharing.

I love all your turtles someday ill have a collection like that
I love that almost every time he introduced a turtle, it was the coolest or his favorite lmao
Truly appreciate the love you have for all animals! It would be HUGE to see a collaboration with Paul Cuffaro!
Love it! And love you from Galveston, Texas. Sending big hugs 🤗🩷🤠😎🩷

Fascinating! Thank you!

when he said he’s from Zimbabwe my brain didn’t compute for like 32 straight seconds
5:59 I believe Davis is an Ornate box turtle. Wonderful species, wish i could keep them but they are native to my state and protected.
His house is literally a turtle/tortoise rescue center. They’re not teenage or mutant but still pretty cool.
What a blessing from God that you have this amazing ability to take care of these animals. A true steward. Jesus is so happy.
"turtles are like natures geese" made me lmao
A lot of fun! Thanks, Forrest!
Awesome collection, and cool that everyone has their own unique backstory
Got my start in Zoos at SB Zoo and love your work. Coming back to SB this week for a visit. Love the city and love reptiles just like you! Well done with all your work. Beautiful house and beautiful population of animals.
Gotta love those softshells, just so goofy animals
I really enjoyed that one. Thanks Forrest
That was awesome Forrest. I just love animals. You have a beautiful home.
I was watching this on the side and he said well that's our Garden, I looked up and his standing in a freaking Forest...
Forrest, that's not a garden, that's a freaking farm xD Great video!
Such an awesome video! I love the turtles and how almost all the animals are rescued!
Love your excitement ❤
Why am I so enthralled by these turtles
Obsessed with your door! The tile and colors and door knocker, epic!
I love the gopher snake and the rosy boas. Both tanks have the same top ans locking mechanism as my two kingnakes 40 gallon breeder tanks that thwy live in. I am partial to the snakes but loved all the animals. Thanks for thw tour!

You’re more than welcome to come out to the reservation in Southern California for ceremony brotha! Appreciate the work you do for the earth
would be very delightful to see a future update on Baby Goff being transferred to the garden to make his new Big Goff life 🐍💚
Wow you really are living the dream such a beautiful home
I hate the fact that some people can monetize learning about animals and here I am knowing all this information for no reason...
RESPECT 🙌
beautiful setup, what a home!
Fly river turtle looks sooooo cool !
