i have been using ka tanking to include with my damp course installation i would highly recommend this product ka please keep the supply going im a lifetime purchaser of your products
I used this on an underground building which had water trickling down the back wall in places. Twelves months on, it is bone-dry. Very good product and far cheaper than a full tanking solution.
Why so few comments for this youtube video. The link comes up a lot for searches on tanking. Seems like a very good product for the price. Probably would have liked some instruction to go with this clip.
hi I have a swimming pool concrete block rebar.I have put 6mm of this ka tanking all over the floor and walls so theres a lot on it,do you think if its very thick it will stop water coming through .do you know much about swimming pools should i make it thicker or render it
I'm doing the same I'm about to start blocking my pool my concrete base is below the water table so is holding a small puddle in one corner so will be covering the base in this stuff ,I'm using ka and sbr every step of build ,giving a coating to the block work front and back scratch coat ,then finish with marblite pool plaster keeping ground water out and pool water in 😁👍
100 percent it works below water table just need to put thicker coats if in doubt do 3 it works . It will get condensation on the surface if u dont over cover it tho so don't get that confused with still leakeing
Question 1, I noticed this tanking slurry come in White or Grey colour.. What is the purpose of the different colour as 99% of the time tanking gets smooth rendered / plastered over. Question 2, I'm thinking about tanking slurry a concrete block garage wall inside.. the wall have been very lightly masonry painted. how do i prepare this surface before applying the slurry ??
I've just used this in my cellar and the results are pretty good so far. my question is I want to turn my room into a studio and need to put acoustic boards around the room . If I drill into the walls I am going to piece the newly tanked slurry membrane - What is the best way to overcome this problem?
Hi Leighroy. Sorry, I might be too late with this, but if you drill the tanked wall in the spots you're looking to screw into, you can use a low modulus neutral curing silicone (LMN - or Good Quality Flexible Building Silicone) in the holes and then insert a rawl plug. This will squeeze the silicone into and around the hole and will give a a screw point whilst continuing the barrier.
I have a concrete wall in my kitchen that's damp...the paint is chipping off, the bottom shows spots of mold and the wall is actually (visibly) wet in certain places. The wall was part of an additional so there's nothing to take it back to. Could I use this on my wall? The video shows spots on the wall...I'm worried that will happen. Unsure what to do..any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Hi Peter. In answer to your question, the product was supplied for free, but no payment was made. KA Building Products just asked for this brief video to be recorded with Tim Shaw’s honest opinion of the product.
Can anyone reply please. Can I do this and laminate over it . ? Obviously I am going to put underlay. But is it ok to apply this and laminate over . Thank you
You can laminate over the tanking, but it might be best to use a self levelling compound on top of the tanking beforehand. Tanking slurries don't generally level themselves and laminating on an uneven floor is not recommended.
Clayts no...dont. use a cement based one. Dri coat is made by british gypsum but is cement.based. gypsum based stuff goes to hell on this. I did it once to see and it all failed
Unfortunately you would need to remove all or virtually all of the paint before tanking, as migration of the tanking into the structure would be prohibited. There is a workaround if the paint definitely won't come off, however. Using an angle grinder, you can cut criss-crosses into the wall every 4-6 inches to create a key. Next you can use a 1-2 part water : 1 part (good quality) SBR painted on to the surface around 15 minutes before tanking. Don't let the SBR dry out before tanking as this will once again seal up the pores in the wall. Only use this method if you're certain that the paint cannot be removed as the tanking will be relying in part on the adhesion to the paint and not adhesion to the wall.
hi i got koi pond im look at fibreglass pond soon my pond is 5ft deep 3 and half ft deep in ground and 2 and half ft above got water seep thought the wall from water table .the wall as been rendered and i use pond paint but did not work as water was seep thought the wall so put pond liner in at end but want to fibreglass it now. can i use ka tank slurry in small patches to stop the water seep thought the wall then going to king span over that then fibreglass over top thank you
intrested to know what you did we have a swimming pool 1 feet in ground 4 feet out of ground [splash pool for kids]we so far have put 6mm of ka tanking on floor and walls .we were thinking of rendering and doing a screed floor over what way did you go in the end.we are just hitting the water table and 1 feet in the ground,I am surprised you got water seep from the render did you put waterproofer in .I was told that i did not need tanking and to just do what you did and it would work.is your render still stuck to the walls or does the water seep cause it to come away
@@SimoneOconnell hi pal my pond was render and water was come thought the render so paint tank slurry on the wall that was seep thought and it work ok for me them king span all the pond them i fibreglass over it if was you if the tank slurry work ok would use some think like king span then you don,t have to render it and save time and money that if you are going down the fibreglass rote

Good luck with that.
I followed all the instructions, it's no miracle cure!
Great quick insight! Drizoro Maxseal and Maxseal foundation is excellent too.
Hi Tim. From cars to building work 😂😂😂 love you man. Super fan of yours

I have a garage that is lower than next door's drive. Should I do the whole wall? Do you recommend injecting the wall (damp course) first?
You should be fine to tank up just above a metre from the level of the neighbor’s drive
Can you use this to waterproof cars
Colin barr - yes, just not the windows
Nice advert. How much were you paid to promote this product? Are there others that are just as good or better?
