To educate the un-educated folks in the peanut gallery, technically, I guess you could call it an "automatic", just like the other cars of the era, until the Liberty came into play. The car has a Lenco CS1 transmission, that is manually shifted with leavers, not air. This was a new combo for us, first time out, run as we got it. It is now in the process of having a Liberty 5 speed installed and will be the transmission of choice, as that is what Alderman ran in that period. And again, @frankjohnson6342, Jeff (the Camaro in the far lane) also runs a lever shifted Lenco, and it is not a 5 speed, it is a 4 speed. (-: I love it when people comment and prove exactly what they know and don't know. I missed seeing which entry was yours? Hope to see you at the next event! *** Almost forgot, check out my latest upload from the NPS Knoxville event last night(090724). Since the Avenger is the offline, pending new RAM clutch arrival and Liberty change, we took our Rick Kent Mirada, which sorry to say again is a Lever shifted Lenco CS3. Note the win light against the Rudisill Camaro. Everyone was chasing the clutch last night, except us. I made the correct counterweight call before the event, and only made 95# of base adjustment after Q1, and left it is it was. Best ever 60' time because of that. Yes, Mike can drive a stick........
Thanks for the comment! Sadly, Scott did pass on 5/8/2006. Darrell is still with us although not piloting a Pro Stock car any longer. Nitrous🤔 That is an interesting question both past and present 😉 We have not used any power adders on this entry and don't plan to. One more event this season, then an awesome 2025 with the new Ram clutch and Liberty Equalizer. See you folks at the next event! Dale
Thanks for the comment. Sometimes you are the nail, other times you are the hammer (-: Check out the following event with the same Camaro against our Hemi Mirada. ua-cam.com/video/8LJ96Ag-S4M/v-deo.htmlsi=HVy0twYwa7OrSvSQ
Why not put a Chevy engine to go with your automatic transmission in your Dodge Avenger nostalgia pro stock. Embarrassing!! If you can’t drive a stick then pay someone who can at these events. The Camaro in the far lane drove around that sorry ass 3 speed auto by using a 5 speed stick. It takes more than paint to make something nostalgic. This is like going to an 70’s to early 80’s band to hear the Cars, Boston or 38 Special and they’re all featuring a guy playing Bag pipes, it don’t work!
Thanks for posting lived at huntsville drag strip from teens till 50s. Still looks good
