Grammy®-winner Jeannette Sorrel recounts how she built one of the largest audiences for baroque music in the U.S. despite having no money, no role model and being told that neither audiences nor musicians would accept a woman as a conductor. She explains how she leads musicians and audiences alike towards an understanding of a centuries-old aesthetic, and even gets a large ensemble of period instruments to play in tune!

Was introduced to this artist via UA-cam during the Covid19 year 2020 . Jeffrey Stivers channel. I am Australian and more familiar with our own orchestras and music in the UK and Germany, Italy, and the Baltic. Everything I have heard Jeanette do is infused with energy and passion.. Apollo's Fire is amazing, absolutely love the intensity and character of both the music and musicians involved. Come back to San Antonio when you can, we LOVED your performance of Vivaldi's Four Seasons. Breathtaking. Ms. Jeannette is an American treasure.

I love Jeannette Sorrell and her approach to baroque music. Her love for the music is infectious! Her comment about keyboard temperament and how the orchestra plays pure intervals intrigued me. I'd like to hear more about her approach to intonation.

Amazing and inspiring.
I saw Apollo’s Fire live on concert last night in London playing various works by Vivaldi including the Four Seasons, and absolutely loved it. It’s lovely to watch musicians who have so much joy for the music they are performing. I think Vivaldi would have approved!

Just wondering if you or your guest are familiar with a musical group called "Red Priest". The name comes from Vivaldi who, it turns out, had red hair. They play period pieces that would have been hear outside the concert halls of the time. Incredible group I highly recommend. Great presentation as always. Thanks!
