  • In this episode, I glue and assemble the stool. I chose to use epoxy thickened with microballoons for the extra working time and potential gap filling it provides. I cut contrasting walnut plugs for the screw holes in the cherry with a plug cutter and separate them at the bandsaw before glueing them in after the stool is fully glued up. Next steps, more powercarving, shaping and then finish.

Hi Jeff, what is the stuff you mixed up, epoxy? And what is the white powder? Great videos

That's right, I chose to use epoxy for these glueups for the additional working time as I was a little nervous. The white powder is glass bubble thickening agent as I was worried about potentially needing it to help fill potential gaps in my joinery. Thanks for the nice comments!

Correct, 8/4 cherry. I didn't do the math per stool, but for me that costs ~7$ per board foot. Glad you enjoyed, thanks!
