  • Thanks for tuning into my podcast! I am your host, Diana Hawthorne, and I am obsessed with wool. I do all types of fiber crafts but I spend more time knitting, spinning, and mending than anything else. I also machine knit, sew, crochet, weave, quilt, felt and dye as well so any of the above may come up on my channel.
Find me on Instagram and Ravelry as Delaware Spinster
    Wearing:
    - Sewn flutter sleeve tee from Simplicity 1107 from scrap, jersey knit and lace fabrics
    FOs:
    - Several skeins of my teal sweater dress spin! Still plying more but these skeins look great - 3 ply worsted weight, over 500 yards in the 3 skeins. This means I will be casting on the Fenton dress by Pamela Wynne and I will finish all the skeins together (I soak them in warm water and Eucalan, spin dry, hang to dry).
    WIPs:
    - Not pictured - still working on my crochet baby blanket and Scotch Broom knit top!
    - Emerging Sweater Spin - started with Polwarth/silk blend from Kim Dyes Yarn in Emerging (MDSW 2023 colorway), spinning for a 3-ply fingering weight, still in progress, will likely be a Shifty by Andrea Mowry. I have a few individual braids from inglenook that I may use as contrast skeins but my plan is in the air still.
    - Barbie Land fiber spin from Inglenook Fibers - to extend this I am making rainbow pastel rolags from other stash that have the same colors but more blended. This will likely be a Stonecrop Cardigan by Andrea Mowry but not positive.
    - Grey cool tone sweater spin - started with Hipstrings fiber set in We Have Been Trying To Reach You About Your Car’a Extended Warranty and adding some other braids to that. Could this be a Big Cozy Cardi by Andrea Mowry? Not sure yet.
    Acquisitions:
    - Magpie Fiber Society 37 Speckle skeins
    - I discussed my plan to basically stay in the fiber society for one more cycle (cancelling due to so much yarn in my nicely built up collection this year, staying another couple months because I just may be inclined to do Andrea Mowry’s Rhinebeck Sweater KAL this year, and I NEVER have the correct or reasonable substitution for the yarn).
Feel free to share any comments or questions!
