With a composite construction you could figure out a way to basically stamp the entire fuselage. Fiber and thermoplast sandwiched and just stamped. You can get a multipiece enclosed composite kayak for 1000$ retail. That should tell the potential for cost optimizing great planes. Imagine a high performance plane for 10000. Certified factory built. Zero build time. Why not.
