Adapted by Maximianno Cobra, from Shakespeare's "Timon of Athens", the film exposes the timeless challenge of social hypocrisy, disillusion and annihilation against the poetics of friendship, love, and beauty.
I rewound the first two lines at least 15 times as they to me carry so much weight. If an author were to pen those first two lines only he wud probably be revered. WS wrote such powerful words. I suppose its like asking Paul McCartney or Mick Jagger how they wrote such music? It's not a great example but u get the gist as WS wud probably give the same answer of sorts. I've just finished Julius Caesar again and the line beware the ides of March is so well known and just incredibly powerful. His writing is so profound and here 425 years later we are all moved by his words. Imagine what it must have been like being in the Globe Theatre and watching commoners acting this wow. Thank you many times for having these in order but using great renditions of his work that he wud have applauded heartiy. William Shakespeare we as a country, this England this world, salute you

@@kingcrookbackoh my goodness you’re amazing thank you 😭
amazing tone and diction; this is the best audiobook I could find !!! Thank you!
Incredible reading. Thank you for your great work.
You are so welcome! Cheers!
Been looking for a good reading of this play Thanks ✌️
If you happen to have to read pp. 87-143 (Act. II-Act. III/Scene III) as an English homework, it's 1:00:45-1:41:45 btw... :-)
I am simultaneously watching the film version with Laurence Olivia. This is just as good. In my minds eye all is taking place with these voices.
Yeah Laurence Olivier was the master of WS plays. Obviously Gielgud, Burton took the plays to new heights.
Clarence what a simple plain man, the only person in this play who was not neither a murderer, tyrant or annoying.
