0:34 - So fun, but so hard to properly get down 🤘😤🤘
Nailed it bro 👍
Had to watch it like 3 times to even be able to see how you were getting it all down haha
also what's the name of your background song? especially the first one?
Nice…this bass has a sleek retro look. The body looks like mix between a rickenbaker and a fender jazz bass. And the headstock kinda reminds me of a Yamaha trb bass. Other than that, the tone sounds pretty cool. And the finish looks nice.
The pickup placement looks and sounds phenomenal. Like a blend between a Jazz bass and a Rickenbacker 4003…… It’s always been a dream bass for me
Dude this bass is amazing! I love the look of the pickups so much and those inlays rock!
Love that your uploading more frequently Patrick. Can't wait for a new installment of Show Me What You Bass. This bass is definitely unique and not just another P or J bass copy, which is a win in my book
Needs more SMWYB, for sure.
Thanks man! Ironically, I'm about to go on vacation and move into my new house right after, so it's gonna be some extra time for the next release, but I'm hoping to get a solid and consistent release schedule after!
Great vid. A well rounded presentation of its features and tones.
Since that amp vid this bass has hau haunted my dreams! Love it!
Great demo! Been looking at this bass for awhile in the black and gold finish.
Incredible sounding bass! Would love if you’d talk more about your string choice on these bass reviews and how it affects how the tone of the bass you’re reviewing! Thanks Patrick!
You’re playing/composing is really great!
I love your videos man!
Thanks for this review! I'm already intent on getting one, and your comments make me even more so.
That's awesome to read. Thanks!
That bass sounds phenomenal!
Looks sick for sure I was looking at the black finish one and it's niceeeee, just wish there was a 5 string model! Couldn't find one on their site unfortunately. Awesome looking and sounding bass though!
Nice intro jam!
Beautiful instrument!!
Been curious about this one for awhile. You're right about the tone it sounds great. Some instruments sound so great you want to minimize effects sometimes. The back of the neck finish I think is done because it prevents atmospheric effects on the neck. My Epiphone has a finish neck but it's also a set neck made of mahogany that may not bode well in the temperate climate I live and I have noticed I have never had to adjust the truss rod or intonation which really makes for consistent feel and tone.
I really dig those pickups and the spacing. Of course, as a fan of the kill master, I do love that body style.
With or without sponsorship, the Bass speaks for itself. It is a great sounding Bass.
Ooh, saw this in your best bassline video. And figured it was a Baum, because the knobs and pickguard styling look like my Wingman guitar. Plus the perloid inlays. Awesome bass, sounds great.
Good morning Patrick! I love your reviews. I like the way you give a disclaimer at the beginning of your reviews. I have never seen a published video of a bass or pedal that you did not like. Obviously you have run across "less than stellar" equipment. Have you ever published a video of equipment that you did not like????
Awesome review! What's that bass line in the first sound clip starting at 2:04 though?
The aestethics of this bass is just amazing. A little bit Rickey, but not too much ❤❤❤❤
The black one looks very nice ! ❤
Your reviews are awesome as always!!! I love your pick technique...question...do you offer lessons? I am trying to get my picking technique and theory up to snuff...do you offer lessons?
I HAVE BEEN BEGGING THE INTERNET FOR THIS REVIEW. YESSSSSSS
That tone is giving me some serious Ripper/RD Artist vibes!
Great looking Bass, I think the lack of an arm chamfer would get to me after a while though!
This is a beautiful bass. I wonder if they do a short scale
The black with gold hardware looks sick!
Thanks!
What a killer Bass. A light scrub of a Scotchbrite pad on the back of the neck might help.
I agree -best bass sounds ever.
Patrick, dig your reviews. Pro player here with everything from Aria Pro II to Zon.
You mentioned the pickups are bright…like Dingwall bright or just hot? Would you consider a Nidhogg to be worthy and capable of filling the shoes of a Sadowsky NYC or Fender American Ultra PJ?
It does look a tiny bit like a Rick...but it sounds a thousand times better.
And unlike the Rics, I'll bet it's great value for the money.
What a great looking instrument. I looked at their web site and I love the white. This ocean mist is great too but if I had to choose, the white would win.
I've seen ads for these but couldn't find any decent videos of them getting played
Hope you liked this video then :D
So Patrick, quick question I'm trying to figure out before I pull the trigger on one of these. Your demo has a matching headstock (which I love) but the website is showing a black headstock. You know if that's standard or if there's something special with your demo model?
I just went to the website, the one I saw has color matched head.
This one looks and sounds great, really like it. Totally, agree about neck finish. Only downside for me is the price ...a bit too much for my budget.
Nice demo, as this is needed for this new bass, for those interested, but it would have been more helpful to comment/subtitle pickup/tone settings. Just left us guessing.
Beastly bass
Sweet bass!!! But I’m curious, what’s the weight? For me the weight is a back and deal breaker. My back can’t do heavy a$$ basses no mo!!! Lol my Schecter C4 is only 6/7 pounds so love it!!! Curious on the weight on this. 😊
Interesting look great sound Barini?
Cost?
Tone reminds me of the Gibson EB 2014 I currently own with the pickups spread apart. Want to sound like a J Bass, but isn’t at all !
I NEED ONE!!!! 🤯😍🤘
Love the Marcus Miller ish pick guard
Looks almost like a shortie!
Check out the sawtooth basses and guitars
Scale length?
If Rickenbacker developped a new bass, it should look like this =) Compared to the price tag of a Ric the price seems reasonable for a small manufacturer producing in Europe. And yes, that colour is sooooo cool, I love it!
It's fine. You can get a really good Jazz from Fender for half or just get a Rick for the same price instead. I'd sooner do that than get this.
It’s weird that the neck has a gloss finish since my Wingman is natural and wonderful for it.
Sounds great using a pick, but I played using my fingers for 30 years. When you played with your fingers I could not hear the notes. It was muddy.
Whaaaaa....this thing looks HOT!!!
costs?
I could totally see myself with the black/gold one.
Are they actually made in Denmark or is just the company HQ in Denmark?
Also a bit odd that they seem to ship from the USA so EU buyers pay to ship it over the pond which is unusual for an european company.
We ship everything from Denmark :) Some products are made in Denmark, others are made overseas, but everything gets shipped to lovely Aarhus, Denmark where we handle QC and set-up on every bass and guitar we produce. And then yes, we ship direct to consumers as well as selected retailers :)
Is this the Custom Shop Bass or Made in Indonesia?
Headstock doesn’t match the body paint on their website like it does in your vid :/
I noticed off the bat that all the guitars and basses were cut out so ya can actually reach the very top frets!!! BONUS
how this distinctive sound will go through a mix? that's the question...
Love the retro look but damn its got some bad fret rattle. A good set up will make it PLAY.
wow
The Jazzbacker
What's the price tag on that bass
The design and the look is great. Can’t wait to pair it with the new X900 from Darkglass.
It does look great. Plus MATCHING HEADSTOCK for the win!
Ok. I love the sound too. 🏆
If I could get one of these bases in Australia, I would. But I can't.
We do ship Down Under! Or get in touch with Pedal Empire :D
There is nothing I don't love about this bass! But what makes it a $1500 bass?
Kind of a P a J and a Ricky all rolled in one. Neat.
It sounds like my 1974 wreckenbacher but I could never afford something like this now
The proof is here. Tone is all in the fingers. I swear every bass he plays basically sounds the same😊
if a ricky bred with a fodera youd get this
Delivery date July 2024
maaan if I had f*ck you money id buy the black and gold one right now lol
Nyato is pronounced Nato silent Y and would be nice to have a more in depth review to include tone samples weight price including shipping and specs it's a very good looking bass
If I'm going to deal with the bad ergonomics of a Ric (slab body, binding, truss rod cover) then I want it to at least sound like one. This sounds very much like a 70s jazz bass in a different package.
A few hundred more you can buy a ric.
$3130.00 to get one to Australia, puts me out of the game
Sounds like a rick
Det er smukt!!!
Wait, don’t all bass guitars sound the same? 🤷🏻♂️
Jazz bass trying to be a Ric
Not a fan.
Not uniquely cool enough in looks or sound (via demo).
Id need to play one to possibly be blown away by its brilliant playability, but I'm doubtful of that.
Looks like a mash up of too many notable guitars.
Looks and sounds killer, it’s a shame the headstock looks so hideous, never liked the spearhead shape nor the use of hip shot tuning machines. It’s a pity, save for the headstock it would be a great bass.
I'd have thought that it's Rickenbacker enough for Mr Hall's lawyers.
Most of the profits from this bass will go towards the legal fees that they incurred negotiating with Rickenbacker :D
Your Opinion.. NOT!!
Rickenjazzer. Headstock gets docked points but I can live with it. Wooh! Is right baby!
