How To Be A Hero When You Feel Like A Failure | Deborah Berebichez | TEDxColumbusCircle

- A born overachiever, Deborah Berebichez defied skeptics all her life. In spite of economic obstacles, oppressive cultural norms, and the judgmental glare of those who doubted her, she became the first Mexican woman to earn a PhD in physics from Stanford University. She achieved everything she dreamed, and then abruptly lost momentum. What happens when achievers stop achieving? When high-performers stop performing? When winners feel like losers?
TEDxColumbusCircle (www.tedxcolumbu...) was produced by a team from Manhattan Productions (www.manhattanpr...), Womenkind (www.womenkind.net), Gender Fair (www.genderfair.com), and reimagine.world. Deborah Berebichez is a physicist, TV host and Chief Data Scientist at Metis in NY. She is the first Mexican woman to get a physics Ph.D. from Stanford University. In addition to this, Dr. Berebichez is the co-host of Discovery Channel’s Outrageous Acts of Science TV show (2012 - present) where she uses her physics background to explain the science behind extraordinary engineering feats. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx
What an inspiring talk, Deborah! 🤗
Everyone can do, study anything.
I hope that I can overcome my difficulties, and, through hard work and enough patience, achieve my dreams, goals.
I appreciate it. (We're not alone at all)!
If I could meet this woman I would shake her hand. Thank you, Deborah.
The first woman from Mexico educated from Stanford university with PhD in. physics.
She is so lovely.
I have always watched her on "You have been warned!" . It was delightful to see how easily she explained complex concepts. The way she speaks in this Ted talk, really shows how lively and joyful she is.
Congrats to her for going against the odds and pursuing what she wanted to do.
Love from India 🇮🇳
