"I have a girlfriend? Lucky me!" 😂
Love that little line
It’s so true man it’s like wait what
self depreciation comebacks are by far the funniest in my opinion. and ironically seem to sting the most
Tojo and fuckface were my favorite characters in the entire show im really glad they made it to the end of the series
Someone's theory is that they couldn't come up with a second Japanese name so just put Fuckface on the other dummy.
Yeah, loved em too. They were realy somethin, calm, chilled...
Yeah they were some real STAND UP JAPS.
“You left a trail boy… they gonna find us now” makes me laugh everytime
You see that? Behind the stars, anglin' up?
That's Snafu's pecker!! 😂
Same here.
If it ain't coming out of your mouth it's coming out ya ass 😂
“It looks like your im a Drag race” makes me laugh
"They poisoned a billion coconuts??" LMFAO🤣
The funny thing about Snafu worrying about getting hepatitis is that Sledge actually caught it on Pavuvu after Peleliu.
Got them heebie-jeebies
“I don’t smoke” “yea??” Snafu was thinking not yet you don’t
“Better get our money out of that bank” I forgot about that one
cracked me up good
Perfect ending...
Loved this series. Band of Brothers didnt take you as low as this series did, so those bits of comedy were gold.
Band of Brothers is still king.
@@Elliesbow The Pacific and Band of Brothers are both excellent shows. Historically accurate and well executed.
Band of Brothers and the Pacific are amazing I love them both equally
Europe was bad, but what the Marines in the Pacific went through was a special kind of hell. Rough terrain. Harsh conditions. Tenacious and fanatical enemy. I loved this series and think it's every bit as good as Band of Brothers, but it is bleak. It had to be to tell the story. I get why some people couldn't appreciate it.
Even Stevens
"So remind me why we're here again?"
"Cuz they touched the boats."
When the dude passed out in formation, the guy missed the opportunity to say ”…..Fall out”
Sledge with much chagrin later realized that he'd wished they'd done better scrubbing those oil drums because they were the same ones used to bring drinking water to them on Peleliu. It was so hot Sledge wrote that he could hold up his legs while laying down and his boots would empty out full of sweat. His buddies asked him if he'd been walking on water.
"WOOF..." most marine shit I've ever heard lol
Don't look at me, lieutenant. The gunny's right.
13:13
The thing is ,that once the airstrip was theirs ,there was a HUGE thriving business between the airforce trading alcohol, cash, food and anything else they could use to buy souvenirs.
They didnt have to ask.
Every plane was loaded with contraband and went back with souvenirs.
*"How f*ck we are now, at Guadalcanal"*
Bro that's totally fits for rap songs 😂
At least the US Marines on Guadalcanal could expect to receive supplies. The Japanese referred to it as Starvation Island and, for those who were evacuated in February, their digestive system was as badly off as a European concentration camp survivor's. Neither could actually digest anything beyond some of the most rudimentary gruel.
“I was askin’ sledgehammer… Woof” -Gunny
The scene where they finally get some peaches after so long without proper nutrition and Lecky pukes in response is poetically a comedically framed show of what would happen if the concentration camp prisoners near the end of Band of Brothers had eaten too much too quickly.
Fun fact: The bombed out building on the Peleliu airfield is a real building that is still standing, yet also still abandoned, to this day.
It is most famous for its appearance in Call of Duty World at War, especially its reuse to make the Nazi Zombies map Nacht Der Untoten. This map would be the catalyst for the global Nazi Zombies sensation.
You wrote this like an article tf
snafu actually get to be one of my favorite characters throughout the show
SNAFU representing my south LA. “You gotta get mean, boo” love it!
Boot**
“Woof!”
4:00 In case anyone forgot they were still in the Marine Corps.
18:02 rip the dude's at the back.
14:49 sheldon was lowkey so real for this one
The real event was pretty twisted. It wasn’t SNAFU who killed the soldier but a BAR gunner. He took his time aiming and mag dump led the soldier to see if he could cut him in half.
@@griz312 sources? or are you cooked
@@TheRealHp Eugene Sledge’s “With the Old Breed” the basis what the series is based on. The Memior is wild as fuck, Can’t even make up some of this stuff.
@@griz312 ill have to get it a read thanks
@@TheRealHp absolutely great read, I also recommend Islands of the Damned by R.V. Burgin (Sledges mortar team observer). Burgin gives another perspective of events he and Eugene witnessed.
Peaches, your new name is peaches as Lekke laughs and gags😂
Trying not to inhale your vomit while laughing and puking is so fuckin funny
"Out here i have to agree with him"
Ack Ack fuckin slaps
Ive been saying ball peen hammer like Snafu for the past decade because of that scene
The most depressing part of The Pacific has to be Okinawa. Historians say it was the sole Allied landing in Japan proper.
The ethnic Yamato Japanese didn't make it seem like it was the way they treated the Okinawans. The island had been theirs since 1879, and they still weren't done committing genocide on the natives.
Japan proper.
If you pay close attention, you can tell who's Okinawan and who's Japanese. But if you don't know the key cultural differences, then you're as informed as almost all the American troops.
HBO didn’t disappoint with BoB and The Pacific. I hope the create a series in Vietnam based on books like The Things they Carried or The Killing Zone. I know they’re probably too scared nowadays but idk.
Too woke nowadays
I cry every time I watch. I cannot even IMAGINE what these guys went through so that WE can be here, now.
I love you, Uncle Larry, USMC.
"I have a girlfriend? look at me" 😂
try again
Lucky me
@@BananaPhoPhilly Ah damn, thanks!
The most insane reference to The Pacific I've ever seen was a very brief visual gag in a UA-cam Poop of Spongebob where Spongebob's head is replaced with a propaganda caricature of Hirohito and Squidward has devolved into being four heads.
Tojo and Fuckface.
Bro you must tell me what that ytp's name is
@@yankee_0013 I can't remember. I'll try looking for it.
I think it's called Krubby Krab Avenges Pearl Harbor.
@@walnzell9328 Yo dawg I took a look at it, unfortunately there was no tojo and fuckface scene, but there WAS a scene where a caricature of Hirohito and squidward having multiple heads was present
ua-cam.com/video/za8UJ2ZsMpQ/v-deo.html
I think it's a case of false memory, because there WAS a ww2 scene in that ytp and you must've confused it for Pacific
It was a nice watch tho, thanks for making me rediscover coolcat001100 again bud !
@@yankee_0013 I never said it had The Pacific footage.
2:25
bro that guy in the background be like: 'What the f~'
I was heading back to university after the holiday break, and my parents let me choose what to watch the night before-so I chose one of my all-time favourites. We watched the first few episodes of _The Pacific_ and after I left, my parents messaged me and told me that they continued watching it. They always called me a history nerd for my interest in twentieth-century warfare, so the fact that I got them into _The Pacific_ was a proud moment 👌
I wish I could get my parents into the series
Try using your head, Chuckler. It's big and rock-like!
“Looks like Hawaii…..No it doesn’t” LOL
BoB is awesome but this show is underrated imo
“They got that right” to the comment about being recruited for bloodlust is my personal fav
4:28 me when I have to wake up before 10am.
The most unhinged reference to The Pacific I've ever seen was in a SpongeBob SquarePants UA-cam Poop. I kid you not.
One short visual edit of Squidward and SpongeBob, but Spongebob's head is replaced with a caricature of Emperor Hirohito and Squidward has become a mass of four heads.
This made me laugh. Thank you.
Based on the book "With The Old Breed" by Eugene Sledge.
These are the kind of Marines I wish I had served with when I was in.
Leckie got a nice case of sugar burn and barfed.
I had no idea there's a fandom for The Pacific until I read the description. But, I kinda get it lol
You gotta write vera about this 😂
"He says superchargers are worthless"
"Out here I have to agree" 😂
'Without a Sign, his Sword the brave Man draws, And asks no Omen but his Country's Cause'. Homer (Translated by Pope)
24:20
The best one lmao
“Oh for heavens sake”
Is nobody going to talk about the Christmas present? That's the best joke in the entire series for me.
Sledges voice. Good.
he like we gotta stop feeding him smoke he mourming again
What the heck is freddy mercury doing in the pacific theater??😂
Serving together with Deaky, John Deacon to you, as you can see...
As a Marine myself I’m glad to see gunny’s have been crazy since WW2 😂😂😂
Ah you cut the scene at 5:35 too soon. Love the bit when one of the soldiers goes to take a shit and says he's dropping the kids off at the pool can I get y'all anything from the bar?
Snafu is probably the most likable character among the three ww2 series
0:19 Such a fucking bar.
Easily one of my favorite quotes.
1:33
“I have a girlfriend? Lucky me.”
for the record doc...
Lol
Joey ice cream before he was joey ice cream
Woof
Lekie got the job done 👍
Are my eyes yellow?
Me got the heebie jeebies 😅
How did you get these 4k videos
Woof 😂
12:51
CREAMED SPINACH?!
I agree with Mr. Leckie. Creamed spinach sucks.
Man this series was so much more morose than BoB.
I've only watched it once all the way through. It just doesn't hit quite the same.
Yep funny as hell
Peaches! 🍑
Tojo and fuckface are the best character names
Woof!
"woof"
I never much cared for Snafu. He acts like a hardened, war-weary badass who's seen it all, but at no point does he ever show himself to be any more competent or prepared than anyone else. He talks the kind of shit John Basilone could've talked if John wasn't so humble.
Hmm……. Interesting
He's just a bro, out there surviving, doing his thing. Lots of country boys have that kind of swagger & disposition, but they don't mean nothing by it.
Fuck that, he scrubs drums for no man
Yeah that's what Snafu means
Nah that’s typical for combat harden infantry Marines, who are senior but not in a leadership billet ‘senior’ lance corporals who fought in Iraq & Afghanistan acted the same way
3:47 Mitchell Johnson
Even the funny parts are depressing.
Yup. Gunny is right 👍
Feisty 😅

they CREAMED the spinach !?
What happened sledge did you find out bob was drilling your girlfriend😂😂😂
So why did the peaches make him sick?
Too much sugar and liquid on an empty stomach made him sick
Because they've been living off of stale, tasteless rations for the last few weeks, something rich/sweet like peaches in light syrup is basically a lead pipe surprise straight to the gut for the digestive tract
@@Skiergold ahhhhh I gotcha
@@nado9159 Eat it WAAAY slower and he wouldn't have done that likely....
Why did he vomit? That scene bugged for so long
Malnutrition, he likely hasn’t eaten adequate food for a while and drinking the juice rich with sugar can cause that.

3:33 🤣🤣🤣
Nah 12:51
Why did he puke? Was it contaminated?
They were starving for too long so a sudden influx of food caused the vomit.
Anyone else find Leckie's character somewhat infuriating?
Yeah nah . So disappointed

Freddy mercury over acted, the rest under acted

@@jamesmacfarlane3196 Agreed.
@smellyvalley this is how I know for a fact you never served. We talk like this too each other all the time. Just regular banter between the guys.
In the book the gunny pussed out and took himself off the line
"Pussed out" Combat Stress got to him. Seeing men you've known for years get ripped apart by explosives, gunfire and such will do that to you-
But he somehow did go back to the front after I remembered
He served in both world wars and you’re saying he “pussed out”
Yea and your a real brave keyboard warrior?
@@newbz4life478 ohhhh noooo I can't insult the heckin ww2 heroes who fought for the jews!
