    The Ribbon Trail at Lunch Loops gets its name from the band of slick rock that flows down the mountain face like a ribbon between the trees.
    Up top the ride takes you along exposed cliff sides before it drops you down into some steep slick rock. Next you scream down the open rock reaching speeds of 40 mph while burning the last part of your brake pads off.
    This trail had some seriously sketchy spots, and is not for the faint of heart.
    Strap in and let's go for a ride!

      MTBdropIN that's exactly why i like Alex and his video's outside of the cool riding and the fact that he responds! I know i can put a video up and my entire family can watch but it's mostly me and my son.

    Holy hell, man! I can see why you said the answer to "Sore much?" would be a resounding yes!
    That looked like SUCH a gnarly, rowdy ride. Yet, like SO much fun! I'd crash. A lot. But it'd be fun! :D
    Thanks for yet again making my evening meal and bottle of beer THAT much more enjoyable, my friend!
    I'm looking forward to seeing what you and The Mountain Goat are up to on your roadtrip right now!

    Subscribed! Due to family commitments my riding is (temporarily!) 10% actual riding and 90% watching other people ride :) Man, the amazing locations you take us to and your constant stokeness - perfect setting and company for my vicarious epics! And the fact that you hang out with Seth (and Phil Kmetz?) can't be a coincidence - both are some of my favourite mtb guys. In fact I came across your channel through theirs. Thanks for the vids!

    WHAT'S UP GUYS!!????
    Sorry about the late upload - Brian and I had a travel day and I had some trouble uploading the day before because of internet, BUT I got you all covered, so sit back, relax, and let's go for a ride!
    PS. Just got to Arkansas last night and are heading out for a ride with the crew today - me, Brian, and Seth - so hope you guys are ready for some shenanigans on Instagram!

    I built this trail back in the late 1980's along with the Huff Monster including most of what now the proposed Palisade Plunge. These trails were built myself and Huff Monster to be Ascents not merely descents. Furthermore, I will enlightening you Gravity Sluts to Pegasus Chain. Wake the hell up! It is right in front of your face at 2:20. I already done did it.

      they really were. On top of that if you stray to the sides, you cannot see but there were lots of pebbles on the surface which made it sketchy. I don't even wanna imagine the dmg if you go down on that sandpaper...

    I remember The Ribbon so vividly...Rode it 3 times since 2010....A wonderful trail - my favorite part is the open sections where you can haul donkey as fast as you dare to go....and smell that bacon smell from your rotors at the bottom - the least favorite part is that nasty Platoon climb you have to do at the end to get back up to Little Park Road - don't do when the bentonite is wet - that is flipping brutal climb as you will ever have (speaking from experience).

    • @The_Sampler
      @The_Sampler  7 років тому

      +The Trail Ninja oh wow I can't imagine when is wet... Yea the speed on that trail is insane. Can push it as hard as you can handle

    • @thetrailninja3791
      @thetrailninja3791 7 років тому

      LOL - I was in a group of about 12 going down the Ribbon in 2012. We had 3 days of rain prior (not long events each) the bike shop said The Ribbon was good to go so we went out and journeyed down.... All was super great until we got to the bottom and that bentonite was super wet....12 guys slipping and sliding down 3 steps for every 4 steps up that 400 or so foot hump at the bottom reminded me of the movie Platoon...folks going down every 10 seconds.. LOL Bikes getting caked with wet bentonite - that hardens to concrete really fast. We spent an hour with sticks trying to clear the muck so we could ride down.
      Good times!

    Awesome... I need a beer every time I watch another of Alexander's crazy rides ); one thing though - the gimbal pitch angle on this vid does not show the handlebar most of the time. On a POV, I personally like to see some handlebar to understand how the rider takes it.
