I have a 69 C10 and have been considering this upgrade. This video sold me on the idea. Excellent video , very informative and was really clear and concise. Can't wait to get to work.
I installed my first rocker panels in my c10 back in the day watching your mobile hot rod repair series , you showed me the ropes ! thanks ! and still watching and learning !
If you get hard up for material, do the "I took this apart 5 years ago, and forgot how it went back together" series. Like I didn't realize I needed to cut the glovebox insert for the bottom part to be installed.
I am from Iraq and I have a GMC 57 pickup alone in Iraq. It was damaged by the events of Mosul and rebuilt, but I miss the front glass.. Can I get it from you?
Hey man I just want to tell you I love watching your videos, there very informative and entertaining I’m about to buy a 70 C10 from a good friend of mine and I’m looking forward to the therapy of working on it with my son so I have something to leave him when I’m gone !
At least he's honest about making a mistake. I can't remember how to install the glove box. It's funny because you would think it would be straight forward, but it's not.
on the rear bar, wouldnt you want the end brackets and bolts angled to match the angle of the control arms? the bushings dont look like they would last long with the way they were seated. I would think the bar would still function like they should at an angle.
my question is ya you raise your truck to riding height to install front and back sway bars but when its time to drop or slam the truck will it lower with out bending or snapping bolts ? im a little confused. i pretty much have same setup . hey thanks again for the great video i learn so much on point and great detail on instructions.
@@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV hey thank you for getting back to me that is so cool thank you for your help I will be purchasing the front and back sway bar kit from you thanks again for your help
Do all seay bars have the end links? I noticed mine doesn't when i replaced the bushings. It's a 1987 R10. If they are needed do they come with the kit ir can i buy separately? Thank you
You don't always need end links. Some bars can be attached directly to the control arm with just a bushing. End links are only needed to correct the alignment of the sway bar to control arm angle.
So I have 61 C10 with a rebuilt 84 front clip. I put the beefy 1 3/8 front sway bar. Handles great but seems to really be rattling my entire front truck over any ripples in the road. I’ve got new shocks in the truck. Do I consider a smaller diameter sway bar or high end shocks?? Thanks
ordered my cab mounts bed pad mounts , 3/5 lowering kit , 2 1/2 drop spindles & my sway bars can’t wait !! 😎 you’re videos are the best 👌🏽! (next is disc conversion and 5 lug conversion but still unclear on how to do) 😅
What are those rubber suspension balls that you have there on the frame for the truck? I have a 78 Scottsdale that has a really rough suspension when I drive it. I’m trying to find ways to improve it.
I bought just the rear kit as I already have a sway bar on the front. What I can't figure out is what are these short sleeves for? You see them on the ground in his parts kit for the rear bar, but you never see him use them.
They are used to adjust the end of the bar up or down to manage the angle. It doesn't make a difference in how it works, only for clearing parts, the ground, etc.
We did grease them, do they absolutely need grease... not really. Urethane is graphite impregnated but it never hurts to get a little on there during installation.

Solid video, looking at 5 boxes from cpp without instructions for a lowering and sway bar kit. This video explained the uncharted territory for me.
Lol

Just started a 72 short, such a perfect transportation method.
These kits are a great improvement in handling, thanks for the directions!
Glad you like them!

Haha, we've been talking about doing a Glove Box install video. I guess maybe sooner than later!
It’s not that easy but take your time
Very nice, so used to seeing sway bars on the frame with end links down to the arms. This packaging seems nicer.
Good one Dave, enjoy the shows all the way down in Australia.
Cheers

No problem 👍
I already have the factory option front sway bar on my '68, but I just might have to consider installing a rear swaybar.

I'm liking the how to videos, I just wish they were somehow organized by the body styles. Keep up the good work!

Awesome vid and info !! I’m ordering mine !
Awesome! Thank you!
How tight do you tighten the end link bolts? Directions don’t say.
Great vid!
This guy is a hella damn G ..
I purchased the deluxe lowering kit and my sway bar brackets didn't come with zerk/grease fittings. Are those upgrades? Great video BTW.
It just depends which bar you get. These deluxe bars come with Zirc fittings.
Seems like a paper template would help for locating the rear frame holes to be drilled.
Solid suggestion!
Good job, thanks
Thanks for watching!
Poor Dave, working on his back... just like mom.
I see on the rear sway bar installation you are supporting the rear axle with jack stands. Should those be at a certain height or doesn't matter ?
It doesn't matter. What does matter is that you lift the rear end and not the frame to get clearance.
on the rear bar, wouldnt you want the end brackets and bolts angled to match the angle of the control arms? the bushings dont look like they would last long with the way they were seated. I would think the bar would still function like they should at an angle.
They are angled to match the sway bar movement. The trailing arms just move up and down, so angling them with the bar prevents them from binding.
my question is ya you raise your truck to riding height to install front and back sway bars but when its time to drop or slam the truck will it lower with out bending or snapping bolts ? im a little confused. i pretty much have same setup . hey thanks again for the great video i learn so much on point and great detail on instructions.
Yes, plenty of room for movement without stressing the bolts. Its just best to set them up at the height they will be at 95% of the time.

Are tubular upper and lower control arms worth it? Working on a 69 c10 and it’s going to be a mild low budget restomod.
It's just a cosmetic thing, nothing to gain other than looks.

Just pull the sway bar off and see if it gets better. That way you'll be able to determine if it's the bar or not, then move on from there.

You're going to love the difference in the feel of your truck with all that new suspension!
cant find the deluxe kit on brothers site, not a easy site to find things on feel I want to buy from you for the great videos you have on my 72
thanks
Dave called it a Deluxe kit in this video, but it's actually our "Heavy Duty" kit on the website. Here's a link to your 63-72 options: bit.ly/2NVJBQg
What are those rubber suspension balls that you have there on the frame for the truck? I have a 78 Scottsdale that has a really rough suspension when I drive it. I’m trying to find ways to improve it.
Those are suspension bumpers. check out our website at www.brotherstrucks.com
How much flex is normal in these frames? If i jack up the back corner frame.. I can get a good twist out of it. One wheel lift.
Yep, there's a ton of flex in the factory frame. We've got one here that's stripped down bare and you can easily flex it 2" by hand.
There must be a different kit for a leaf-spring rear axle, same general steps?
Yessir! Similar kits are available for leaf spring trucks. Click the link in description for options.
I bought just the rear kit as I already have a sway bar on the front. What I can't figure out is what are these short sleeves for? You see them on the ground in his parts kit for the rear bar, but you never see him use them.
You use those in case the angle or tilt of the bar needs to be adjusted after it's installed.
On the rear sway bar, what are the extra smaller/ short sleeves for?
They are used to adjust the end of the bar up or down to manage the angle. It doesn't make a difference in how it works, only for clearing parts, the ground, etc.
And for those that our trucks came with leaf springs?
We have leaf spring versions available too!
Did you have to put grease on the polyurethane bushings?
We did grease them, do they absolutely need grease... not really. Urethane is graphite impregnated but it never hurts to get a little on there during installation.
@@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV oh ok thanks for the video.
Assuming the rear sway bar should be installed with rear suspension at ride height...
That would be ideal.
Who might know of someone who sales a sway bar for a factory control arm and suspension setup at factory ride height?
These swaybars will work with that setup. Click on the links in the video description for more info.
