The thing is if you get aly gearing up 2-3 times faster in BGS then you'll only see a boost in Aly players for a very small time (until they've got their full Blue set and go to arenas)
Gday mate, thanks for the content! With T5 on PTR I was wondering if you were going to do a Phase 2 loot prio guide? I really liked your P1 sheet and as LM im starting to put some resources together. Cheers Mate!!
Fellow arena scrub here, think I would really like that :) Finally grinded out ~300 res on my lock so hopefully I won't get popped (as easily) by you nasty cats, rogues and warriors
Anyone who played or payed attention to TBC private servers knew that a Horde tsunami was coming. Blizz dropped the ball, and are now doing damage control. I'll take my free copium thank you very much all the way up to Wrath when I get EMFH.
Interesting take on phase 2 being "delayed". With the phases generally tied to the seasons, isn't it immediately unsurprising that we have 3.5 or so months for phase 1 at a minimum? I'd imagine releasing SSC/TK at the tail end of season 1 would completely mess up pvp balance
I mean, whats the problem in a shorter season to keep the population of the entire game healthy? I think they could safely put out P2 in late August if they had a desire to, for example, but I doubt that is going to be the case.
@@KnotxD great question! I don't know what the answer should be. With all the beta testing going on now for PvP, I'd imagine that points to a longer season, though a shorter one is probably healthier for the game
@@KnotxD based on the fact that every raid tier in classic was PTRed at least a month in advance of launch, I really doubt that P2 will be out by the end of August sadly.

@@1999evo you can, and it wont be worse than retail pvp... it wont be very good either, but they said theyre going to make it better for ShB i guess? tbh, anyone that wants proper pvp should just play any genre BUT MMOs. fighting games, FPS, even MOBAs. anything is more balanced and fun than MMO pvp
>camps the alliance flight paths >drives away the pvp playerbase >is objectively better due to racials in tbc >blizzard invalidates the opposing faction by letting horde que against themselves >horde now complaining the alliance is given incentives to pvp in an unbalanced environment.
I don't see a point to loot boxes. Same faction BG's make sense for Blizzard's bottom line. But how does this negatively effect Alliance? Alliance queue times are fast, and now Horde will be also. There is no advantage if the queues are similar. If you like Alliance, play Alliance.same for Horde.
Alliance don't care about winning because they can instantly get in another BG after losing. It's a simple case of efficiency > fun. Alliance may lose more games, but are getting far more honor overall. I want same faction bg's to come back because i'm not going to wait around 60 minutes for a single bg. Some servers are entirely Horde and need same faction bgs. I don't even try to get in bg's because of this. When you actually get in a game, the bg is a boring blow out, most of the time. I don't even care about the honor / gear, I just want to be able to do bg's when I want to.
Kind of confused when you say it would be appropriate if the copium boxes helped Ally gear 2-3x faster....ally already DO and have been gearing faster. A lot of ally who were spamming BGs had full gear in the first few weeks, but very few horde did(really the only ones were the players who had honor cap coming into TBC). I saw someone do the math of roughly how much time it takes to gear right now(since honor gains are abysmal for both sides) assuming something like 30 or 40 min queue times on horde, and for Ally to get full blue set+off pieces it was estimated to be something like a 200-something hour grind, whilst for horde(despite winning more, it becomes largely irrelevant when horde are only getting 1 BG per hour and Ally can get up to 3-4 if they lose all those games fairly quickly) it was estimated to be at least 450 hours, and could easily be longer. Even if the boxes made gearing for Ally even faster than it already it is(comparatively to horde), I dont see how that would make people actually reroll. A longer grind for PvP gear as horde is far better and far less time consuming than ditching everything youve built on horde side via thousands upon thousands of hours and for most people, also leaving their current guild/friends. It just isnt going to every happen, at least not in numbers that would be actually relevant..maybe a handful would change but. The boxes are in fact well intentioned, since theyre attempting to address the biggest factor in why Horde have such insane queue times comes mostly down to ally participation in BGs compared to horde, the faction balance across PvP servers could stay the exact same as it is right now, and queues could get cut in half or more if even 20-30% more ally actively participated in PvP. In reality the faction balance has a very small impact on queue times, evidenced by horde queue times still regularly being 20 min+ at the end of classic when PvP servers were VERY balanced(around 53-54% horde to 46-47% ally). And theyve taken a huge jump predominately because a lot of Ally pvpers rerolled horde for TBC arena. I just think this is another one of Blizzards half assed solutions where, their intention was correct, but the execution and implementation is poor and will probably have little impact on ally participation in the long run. After all, you cant really change what a demographic of players likes to do, and a majority of ally on PvP servers seemingly dont care for PvP, thered have to be some significant rewards to force people into BGs who dont enjoy PvP.
That's a fair summary, I didn't realise alliance were already gearing alot faster (hard to imagine when its often lose city). In that case I think you're right, it'd need some significant rewards to tempt the non-PvPers because alliance just don't have enough people interested in PvP. But as you mentioned, at the very least it's well intentioned. Only a week ago I was concerned blizzard just didn't care at all.
This is a hilariously BAD fix. First of all, its already been weeks/MONTHS where Ally have been able to gear up at 2-3x the speed (even with the win/loss ratio this is game-breaking) but now alliance get BADGES OF JUSTICE AND GOLD JUST FOR PVP'ing????? Thats a fucking joke man, Im quitting this game because I made the mistake of rolling horde and everything keeps getting worse for us. Fucking bullshit man
