- Yes, surfs up at Josiah's Bay on Tortola in the British Virgin Islands, Caribbean! Good friend Alex Dick-Reid started a new surfing school on the beach in Josiah's Bay, and all are welcome regardless of age as long as you can swim! (but he warns that over the age 80 requires parental consent) ;)
Come along as we spend an afternoon catching some cool shots (and waves) on the beach with Alex's instructors teaching several students how to surf on a beautiful sunny day here in the BVI!

I went to Josia's Bay almost twenty five years ago. I enjoyed myself a lot. Watching this video was a blast from the past. Thanks for posting this video. I enjoyed it.

Always wanted to learn to surf. Today I'll be thankful for the fact that I'm still young and healthy enough to fulfill that bucket list item someday.
sailing and surfing...nothing better except....well... you know. nice post Rick...yep..a lot of us surfers naturally gravitated to sailing. A wonderful connection with our oceans!
Another great video Rick! I'm an old surfer originally from So. Calif. Here in Colorado I obviously don't get a chance to surf anymore. I will be back on St. John in 45 days and planned on going back to Jost Van Dyke and Tortola. I may have to make a day trip to Josiah's Bay too! Imagine telling everyone you surfed in the Virgin Islands, Caribbean style!
I tried surfing in the late 60s. It was a disappointing experience. But your video makes me want to try it again.

I jotted it down just incase I make it there some day soon. I always thought ( years ago ) sailing the world was what I wanted to do .
Your videos and a few others have shown me to....take my sweet ass time and do island chains.
