- A knock sensor is used to detect engine vibration or knocking. It is an important input to the computer to protect the engine. On a four-cylinder engine, it is easy to replace, but on V8 or V6 engines, more work needs to be done.
Wow. What an involved process for these sensors. Thank you for giving us a detailed instructional video.
Just did this job in drive way it took a day an a half 🤣 Tip if car older do injector jets heads up hard to find out of stock every where same for crush washers for gas line. Cleaned everything to like new. My van runs like a beast after doing job. Tip junk yard can save you for anything you can't find in store. Nice review 👍💪
Ps miles 184 000. On my van if it helps anyone.
Amazing job, thank you
Thanks🎉
well my next weekend is gonna suck😂
I hear you
Thank you for the video. I have a same car. Can you tell me where to get Torque Wrench code. thanks
Thanks for the video - approximately how long did you spend on this job?
Do you have to refill coolant after you wre done replacing the part? I heard maybe a coolant noise at 7:37
will #6 misfiring code (need to change ignition coil) cause a knock sensor code?
Replace the hose under . Replace crush washers on gas line. Replace coils and plugs on back side of motor otherwise it's a compleat do over
Thank you so much for this NIce video, I just want to know how you handled the water hose and avoid water falling in the holes that have gaskets. I also want to know the name of two blue and black gaskets that goes on both sides and the black gasket with round holes . I mean what to say in the store to buy it. I will appreciate your help in this matter. Thank you
Did this resolve your issue? I’ve seen some folks say it’s their harness - not the actual sensors…did this solve your issue?
Where did you order your sensors from
But it was your engine vibrating? And engine light on?
What wrench did you use to remove knock sensor?
27 mm socket
what was the mileage on the sienna when it failed ?
I have same 2002 with 200000 thousand miles I have not problem with those sensor thanks good
I'm at 198k and just got p0330
@11:07 you forgot tomention that engine block needs two brand new gaskets to seal properly.
But you can ‘clearly’ see the two brand new Fel-Pro gaskets - geese…
So many things wrong here... The Brittle old Harness is usually the issue. NEVER re-use the old harness. That large hose just above the harness gets old and brittle, he bent it in HALF. it will fail soon and cause major damage. Big no no. Everything, Every way he did this job Screams of car lot... It's done, I don't care if it fails in 2 weeks.
If i change engine would be easier 😂
Totally unnecessary to remove cowl for this job
I've heard the opposite.
You can't get to the horrible upper rear intake bracket 10mm he didn't even mention. The cowl takes maybe 10 minutes of easy work.
Does the sensors have any indication to know which side each one goes?
They should both be the same
They are the same. It's rarely the sensors, usually the cooked and brittle wire harness. The sensors are very expensive, but this job is a pain. So most people don't want to go back in there. I've fixed multiple 3.0 and 3.3 with just replacing the harness. Only had one actually bad knock sensor... Sucked going back in there... But I'm still way ahead on average
this guy went to trade tech he’s a master technician 🥷
