Operation: Flags of Freedom Operation: Flags of Freedom is an organization that was created by Perry Township residents in loving memory of the township's fallen heroes. The first Operation: Flags of Freedom event was held Memorial Day Weekend 2013.

Over the holiday weekend, American flags will line the Perry High School front lawn, surrounding the Perry Veterans Memorial. The Opening Ceremony will be Saturday, May 24 at 9:00AM in front of the Veterans Memorial. Guest Speakers are Judge Edward Elum (Massillon Court), Michael Ziccardi Jr. (NEOPAT Trustee), and Melissa Sebiert (NEO Red Cross Military Outreach Manager). Throughout the weekend visitors will be able to purchase a flag on site.

*Collecting Sgt. Dan at 7PM (in theater)

Sunday 5/26
*Community Non-Denominational Church Service- 9AM (in hospitality tent)
*Breakfast for Veterans-Directly after church service (in PHS Cafeteria)
*Veterans, Retired and Active Duty Military Hospitality Tent 11AM-Midnight
*Taps at sunset (around 8:45PM)
Monday 5/27
*Flag Pick-Up 1PM-4PM in PHS drive way loop
Community members and business owners are invited to sponsor one or more of the flags in honor or memory of a loved one or personal hero. Flags will be organized into five distinct fields, where they will remain on display throughout Memorial Day weekend. Your sponsorship helps us create a memorable event for our fallen heroes, their families and the community that is so important to us all.
• Gold Field honors all fallen heroes
• Red Field honors all veterans
• Blue Field honors currently serving military
• Silver Field honors police/firefighters/EMTs
• White Field honors all other personal heroes
