My Audi Q4 E-Tron 50 Quattro has 40-20-40 split on the rear seats folded down. This is an option that pretty much all normally equipped Q4's have. As for the grill, I personally prefer that the car looks close to identical as the gas-powered cars with a normal Audi-grille. People just want to hate for the love of hate I guess.
At around 24 minutes in, we can't miss the continuous bouncing of the camera or huge centre display. We found this when we test drove one. It's like riding in a space hopper that never stops bouncing. Ford has to fix this if passengers are to avoid travel sickness.
On the bit you're talking about it's the entire dashboard that's bouncing forward and back, which means it's actually the camera that's bouncing and the image has been stabilised.
@@DarrenCarnallCustoms Fair enough Darren. It may be the camera in the video, though it's the car that has to set the camera shaking. When we drove the car, there was no camera to shake, just the occupants. I genuinely hope that Ford can fix it and quickly, as I'm a Ford fan and a Mustang fan. A long video, but it covers two vehicles in great detail. IMO, the two UK channels which really give one a truly worthwhile review of EVs are AutoEV and The Late Brake Show. You deserve far more subscribers (especially as the quality of your videos has improved so much over time). Thanks.
@David Best what a charming thing to say, and to be on a par with The Late Brake Show is a true compliment, so thank you very much. We really do try our best to bring that old-fashioned and independent car review to the channel. Glad to hear you enjoy it. Thank you so much for your support and taking the time to watch us and comment. It's a fickle world this UA-cam lark, but we are getting there.....albeit slowly! Thanks again, Bryan @ AutoEV
I think Ford was brilliant using the name Mustang. Want people to pay attention to a car? Say Mustang. But that's the last thing you do in brand marketing. The first thing is to define and design a product that adds to brand value, not detracts. And with this technical leading edge rocket car they've done that. Then they decided to stick the pony on it. And come on, even with 4 doors it's truly a Mustang.
Great video, very informative👍🏻 I’ve got an E-Tron 40 S-Line on order and can’t wait until it gets here. Why did I go for the E-Tron over the Enyaq/Mach E? Prices came out close for all 3 when I specced them so it came down to styling and interior. The Audi has a fake grille which gets a lot of stick, but the Enyaq has one too plus it has what I’m pretty sure are fake vents on the wings. The Mustang doesn’t have a fake grille but the long, bulging bonnet is clearly meant to pretend there’s a massive engine under there and not just your cables/shopping🤔 Interior wise the Audi feels a bit more “grown up” and isn’t trying too hard to be different. If I want a cool interior I’ll just jump in my i3 instead 😜
Do you have any details of range, charging times for the MME when you traveled to Scotland? I am currently undecided between the Q4 E-Tron 40 and the MME.
Hi Yadu. Thank you for watching the channel and taking the time to comment. My journey to Scotland is just over 340 miles from my house to my mum's. We left home with just under 100% charge, and stopped at Stafford Services North on the M6 which is 151 miles away and we had just over 80 miles remaining on the car. We used one of the new Gridserve Ecotricity 50kW chargers with the car being plugged in for just over 1 hour, which from memory brought the car up to over 80% and so was ample to complete the journey. The return journey was a bit more troublesome as the charger at North Cane Services on the M6 Toll southbound didn't seem to deliver a big charge, despite being plugged in for over 1 hour, meaning I had to stop again at Beaconsfield services to top up to enable me to get home to Surrey. In all, the efficiency of the Mustang is pretty good considering it was all motorway, and it would have been good to do a direct comparison with the Q4, however with the time I had teh cars, this wasn't possible. They seem pretty evenly matched, but the Ford does offer a slightly better range overall. I hope this helps you in some way, but please let me know if you have any further questions and I will do my best to answer them. Thanks again for watching. Bryan @ AutoEV
Have been looking for an electric car the last months, and tried the Mustang Mach-E. As I'm using my roof rack a lot, I was very surprised to learn that you can't have one on the Mach-E. Probably worth to mention. Otherwise, really like your channel.
Not necessarily. A lack of front end grip will cause understeer as the power pushes the car forward as the front tyres lose grip, hence undertseer in a rear wheel drive car.

Thanks, that was very helpful. However I had been hoping that you would have included more comparison with the Enyaq which, as you pointed out, is the obvious competitor for the Q4. I have a Q3 which I love for its build quality, ride and refinement. Now I'm looking for an ev and don't want to sacrifice any of that in the exchange. I love the look of the Enyaq inside and out, I make it like for like £5k cheaper than the Audi, but I don't want to sacrifice the quality feel I get when I drive the Q3. I found the contrast between the Kias I drove and the Q3 quite marked it that respect or am I just a victim of my own prejudice? I'd really like to hear your views?
We are huge fans of the Enyaq and have compared the Q4 and the Enyaq with the ID.4 in another video. We’ve also done a few reviews on the Enyaq separately. In my opinion, the Skoda is on a par with Audi for quality and way ahead of the VW. In this market place, the two I’d spend my own money on would be the Kia EV6 or the Enyaq 80X Sportline. The Skoda is a much more complete family car with a huge amount of space, nice drive and a quality that is probably the measure of anything in that price bracket.

Guys I genuinely hate to say this but this is way too long a video - I switched off early. Not sure a 40 minute compare video works for everyone, and I really hate saying this as your reviews are usually great
@Harvet Moon Radio your point is a well made one. I must admit it was way longer than I had anticipated doing, and in my edit, I struggled with the time. However, I felt there were things that needed saying given how important these cars are to the market. What I have done though is add chapters to this one so people can skip to the relevant sections for then. All of that said, your viewpoint is valid and taken on board. Thank you for watching, taking the time to comment, and I will endeavour to reign it in a bit in future on the comparison tests! Thanks again, Bryan.

I disagree about the length of the video. The format allows you to go to the end of the video for a summary if that is what the viewer wants. I really like the relaxed and personal style, and longer videos have more nuanced content.
@stephen Shannon this is an interesting viewpoint. I worked with a company writing scripts for road test reviews that were over 1 hour long. Their view was that it gave you all the info you’d need to consider the car before speaking to a dealer. It went against the norm, but it was their USP, and worked really well for them. We will take both viewpoints into consideration. Thanks for watching though, and your valuable input.
Enjoyed that video review and credit for doing the comparison video, it worked well. Of course the video length is such because you are in effect reviewing 2 cars rather than one. Your reviews are that bit more grown up than most others too, I mean do we really need to see timed 0 - 60s? Not long till my Mach-e arrives and I think I will be taking the slightly longer route home. Thanks guys.
@Mark Houston thank you for your comment Mark, and for taking the (considerable!) time to watch the video. I’m glad you enjoyed it, and great to hear about your Mach-E. I have to say I genuinely enjoyed my time with the car, and can’t wait to drive the GT variant! Lots more videos coming along soon, so stick with us! Bryan @ AutoEV
Exactly the comparison I was looking for. Sadly I’d be paying £30 more for the mustang. Doesn’t feel as nice as the Audi, but the ford looks better outside, from more than 6 foot away.
You make a good point, and there is no real reason why we haven't mentioned it, other than the fact that we sort of 'forgot' to mention it. We have another compact SUV video coming soon (the Mercedes-Benz EQA) which is also a rival for the Model Y, so I will include it in that one. Apologies, there is no malice in not mentioning it. It was purely down to me forgetting. Bryan @ AutoEV.
“My heart says to choose flawed car?” What kind of advice is this? Rationally we should opt for better reasoning than buying it emotionally and regretting it later. Far better option in most specifications is Skoda Enyaq Coupe RS.
Because it’s not always about being rational. Cars can be an emotive purchase, and both of these cars have their good and bad points. But you miss the point as I declare the Audi as the one to buy if you are buying for a rational reason. And I’ve tested the Enyaq Coupe vRS and have to say it’s not a car I would recommend. The lower powered 80X Sportline is the Enyaq I would buy.
Great Video thanks , love the Crisp analogy at the beginning! Good idea comparing them side by side even if it did lengthen the video. Look forward to you reviewing the Ioniq 5 will that be side by side with the Kia EV6 ? With so many reviews out there it’s challenging to have a different spin on these things - but your spin will always be about your style which we all like
@leo clarke, glad you are continuing to enjoy the channel. And boy, do we have some good stuff coming soon! If you loved the crisps, just wait until you see what's next........ Bryan.
Our neighbor recently ordered a Mach E. He looked at our Model Y but decided to go with the Ford. Not sure why but I’m interested in seeing it when it comes in.
Model Y is a Superior car in EVERY metric. its Areodynamic, its Really Efficient and it has Great cargo capacity. FORD Muck-e is built like an OLD Fashioned gas car . Model Y is just Really FUN to Drive.
What makes you think the Mustang Mach-E is built like an internal combustion engine car Mark? The platform is a dedicated EV platform, its not based on anything else that Ford make, and is, in our opinion, a really good drive. Obviously we can't make any comparison to the Model Y as we have yet to drive it, but if you have driven both, it would be interesting to know your thoughts to the differences?
@@AutoEV - it's still too HEAVY, it's full of OUTDATED & Obsolete TECH. only Redemption is the push button doors. Sandy, thinks they are a good idea. WE, need to Start DELETE things from cars, like Mirror, Pedals, Door handle, and Steering wheel. While the Muck-e is not a COMPLIANCE car like the POLESTAR 2 and KONA/eNIRO are it's still inefficient and very heavy and it's HVAC and Thermal system are OUTDATED. and the way it's assemble is terrible, it's like they have Separate Engineer working on the Front & Rear of the car , there is no CONTINUITY. also, Muck-e brackets are holding up more brackets. and is using too many different kinds of FASTENER and Screws. go watch Sandy do TEARDOWN of Muck-e.
@@AutoEV - TESLA model Y, is not perfect. but, is a good built car. the SEATS are plush and superb. the HVAC is fantastic, as is the BMS, Superbottle, Heat Pump, and OCTOVALVE. the NEW single piece REAR Megacasting really stiffens up everything, and TESLA did a good job with excessive noise & vibration. But, GigaAustin will be better, when Model Y starts using TOTAL underbody Megacasting and 4680 Structural Pack. currently, model Y is the most efficient Tesla to date. has great Handling comparable to a BMW M series. However, model Y is not a true SUV, it's fine for dirt roads & gravel, but it's Ride height is a little short compared to a 4 Runner. it can be helped with 4" Lifts and 23" OFF ROAD Tires . model Y is a Competent SUV and drives smooth, like it's on Rails.
I'm afraid...you're laying. Audi made step back in terms of interior quality on all of their latest models, including the Q4. Going lower down on the dashboard, door cards and so on the quality isn't what it was. Recommend people to go and see for themselves as the price remained premium while the quality is inconsistent.
Has anyone noticed how similar the exteriors of the Mustang MACH-E and the Jaguar I-Pace look? I know Tata own jaguar now, but I wonder if the former owners of Jaguar still _chat_ and _swap ideas_ with their friends? Both the Jaguar and this Mustang look miles better than the Audi's box like SUV.
I have tried them all and the Mustang Mach E AWD Extended range Premium with a 98kw battery is the one i have ordered should be here next week. Audi all i have heard from owners is the range is dreadful.
I'm sure you will love the Mustang. I am a big fan of the car, especially in the extended range AWD. I hope you enjoy it and let us know how you get on with it.
I enjoyed the video and especially appreciated how you never mentioned the Tesla Model Y. FINALLY, a reviewer who recognizes that Tesla has no real competition..... Thank you.
Well thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. The only reason I didn't mention the Model Y however, is because we still have no confirmed UK sale date. And whilst we cater for a global audience, our films are geared towards what is available to test in the UK. If I can't drive the car, I can't make judgements over whether it is good or not. Once we know when the Model Y is due, we will, of course, bring it into contention. Much like we do with the Model 3, Model X and Model S. Thank you for watching. Bryan @ AutoEV
@@AutoEV Hmmm? I heard you mention more than a couple of 'upcoming' vehicles in that 'competition' section of the video. My dog doesn’t drive, so can’t really comment….. (Sorry, couldn’t resist! The more upright rear hatch of the Audi means it’s probably more suitable, although it depends on the size of your dog. But I’d suggest the Q4 is the better canine-carrier.)
You are wrong about the Audi steering wheel buttons, they are click buttons and not touch buttons as you indicate. So you don't easily activate them by mistake. Please test it IRL before leaving incorrect information in the video. 😏😉
I like the masterful way automobile manufacturers convince dumb people to regularly buy new and expensive cars they don’t need and will never own spending 20-30% of their paycheque. 😋 Makes me big 💰 . ❤️ Tesla and VW AUDI. 💰

I respectfully disagree Mark. The Jaguar I-Pace is a triumph of design and engineering, the BMW i3 is still one of my favourite EVs, the Porsche Taycan and Audi e-tron GT are simply incredible cars to drive, and before you think that its only the expensive stuff we like, the Honda e is simply a wonderful bit of automotive EV culture. All from legacy manufacturers. And that is before we have driven the new Kia EV6 and Hyundai Ioniq 5.
@@AutoEV - Sorry, if it's from any LEGACY, they are going to be DEAD LAST. Only, the KOREAN are catching up, and the NEW Kia/Hyundai are better than BOLT, Mach-e, VW, Mazda, Nissan. that said, they still have a long way to go. JAG is not even a Contender, with SUB par range of 200 miles with a BIG heavy Battery. Tesla model 3 gets more mileage with a Small 75 kwh pack. JAG, eTron, Taycan are all too Heavy and they can't even get to 300 miles with a 100 kwh pack. and JAG does not even make its own EV, it's made by MAGNA, using their OUTDATED platform, now they sharing with FISKER and other OEM too.
I like the styling of the mach-e, but it's another model that is not planned for the NZ market.
Exactly the comparison I was looking for. Sadly I’d be paying £30 more for the mustang. Doesn’t feel as nice as the Audi, but the ford looks better outside, from more than 6 foot away.
The mustang is cheaper what ? Lol plus you get a tax rebate
@@josephb8499 The Mache-E looks great on the exterior. One of the nicest EVs imo. I'm a BMW iX3 owner.
Great job took you're time for these two giants ama
ong EV's!
I like the mustang, I am just not sure if the mustang name is worth 60k (if you want the extended range)
Over £70,000 if you want one with a GT badge on it......
Yes the Q4 is nicer than the Enyaq and the Mustang, i hope that answers your question and i don't know how you can call the interiors a draw.
Why in the upcoming competition, you mention cars like the EV6 and Nissan but not a word about the Tesla Model Y?
You make a good point, and there is no real reason why we haven't mentioned it, other than the fact that we sort of 'forgot' to mention it. We have another compact SUV video coming soon (the Mercedes-Benz EQA) which is also a rival for the Model Y, so I will include it in that one. Apologies, there is no malice in not mentioning it. It was purely down to me forgetting. Bryan @ AutoEV.
Having tried both, we prefer the mustang
I was going to comment, but you summed it up in the last few sentences; all the opportunities an ev gives the designers and Audi produce a bore-fest.
It’s built better and now all Evs will use the Tesla chargers.
AUDI is a eTron (TURD).
In Motor trend’s 0-60 the Mach Ex4 does 0-60 in 4.8 seconds. Perhaps is better to choose the AWD if you want a quicker EV
Or wait for the gt version
The company which is fully responsible for the 2 cars that you reviewed was somehow overlooked as possible 'competitor'? Tsk, tsk, tsk. Which manufacturer didn't want to lend you the vehicle unless you promised to never mention a certain company?
I congratulate you for 46 minutes of great review without mentioning the T word a single time.
Now, of course, I need to watch the Skoda Enyaq review and see if the Model Y was mentioned as a competitor....
"Map pockets" isn't that harking back to old school days when we drove with an AtoZ, they are laptop pockets now.
You may be able to compare it to the Skoda enyaq but in my opinion their is no comparison at all, also it’s a Skoda lol 😂 can’t wait for our Audi q4 E-Tron 45 S line (£57k) to arrive !!!!!!!!
Only Audi
Both EV's are beautiful on the outside but the Pony is poorly set up on the inside. Looks like Ford threw together the cockpit, the main display is simply too big and the materials...
What’ about for dogs ?
My dog doesn’t drive, so can’t really comment…..
(Sorry, couldn’t resist! The more upright rear hatch of the Audi means it’s probably more suitable, although it depends on the size of your dog. But I’d suggest the Q4 is the better canine-carrier.)
You are wrong about the Audi steering wheel buttons, they are click buttons and not touch buttons as you indicate. So you don't easily activate them by mistake. Please test it IRL before leaving incorrect information in the video. 😏😉
Hi Anders, perhaps the specification differs in different countries, however I can assure you the buttons on the car we had were touch sensitive.
Ok, that may be the case and I definitely prefer click buttons. 👍😀
An EV Mustang that sacrilege! Could be good but the Ford Dealerships are well shi? To be polite
I like the masterful way automobile manufacturers convince dumb people to regularly buy new and expensive cars they don’t need and will never own spending 20-30% of their paycheque. 😋
Makes me big 💰 . ❤️ Tesla and VW AUDI. 💰
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
i didint like this video because most important part is missing (batteries, power, mechanics)
I'm sorry, but you obviously either didn't watch it all, or weren't paying attention. The chapter entitled "Usability" covers batteries, range and charging, and the "Performance and Handling" section covers power and Performance including mechanical setups. Give it another watch.
why most Scottish guys with beard sound like Frankie Boyle?
Because all we drink is Irn Bru.....#obviously...... Thanks for Watching!
Mach-E cars have already starting to fall apart. Luxury, comfort and design - Mach e doesnt have a chance against Q4.
let's be real Audi and VW do not have a great reliability record.
AutoEV - its OwU-Di not Aldi's .
These are Tesla killers
stop eating,i'm so hangry
Q4 very expensive.
Not really justifiable for being a rebadged id4 with Audi tech, they should have added more performance to justify the premium price.
Audi >>>>>>>
AutoEV - Sandy Munro already did Teardown of the VW iD4 and he found the VW MEB platform to be OUT OF DATE, its an OLD Platform he said , and it needs to be Replaced before VW & AUDI can remain Compeditive.
FACTS are the VW MEB platform was Designed over a DECADE ago and NEW Advancements have been made since .
Such as MEGACASTING and Flat Floor Design and Structural Pack.

AutoEV - Incorrect, the Ford Mach-e is NOT a Mustang , its NOT a Muscle car, the Mach-e is NOT even a FAST car.
cant even break a 10.0 in 1/4 mile.
Now, a Tesla PLAID , well that IS a Muscle car that can break 9.1 in 1/4 mile, and its a Competent FAMILY Sedan as well.
Comparing apples to oranges again? Lets put the new GT Mustang Mach E up against the Model Y and see which is faster, which gets around the track quicker. We already know which one is better looking. You do win the award though for the Number One Tesla Fan Boy.
@@jamesseay9943 - ha ha ha ha ha, the MEHICAN Mustang is no competition.
My model Y Performance TRACK CAR can smoke it around the track.
Wrong.....MUSTANG MACH E GT DOES 1/4 MILE IN ~9.7 AND YOU SAID IN YOUR OTHER POST IT WOULD NEVER HIT BELOW TEN....COST OF PLAID VS MME GT = ALMOST 2/1 FOR THHE PRICE OF THE PLAID.......MCLAREEN SENNA = 10SEC BUGATTI SHERON = 9.8, PORSCHE 918 SPYDER 9.8 SEC ....AND ON AND ON......
Tesla Plaid also costs significantly more than a Mustang Mach-E.
Next you will compare a Nissan leaf with an M3 competition.
AutoEV - Unfornatully , NONE of the LEGACY OEM's are making ANY Good EV's at the moment.
Unfortunately, AUDI is using VW OLD MEB platform on the AUDI.
and IF VW wants to remain competitive, they need to replace the MEB platform and the Porsche J1 platform to be compeditive.
LEGACY will always be behind TESLA.
Wrong again.
