I used to run and I did it for the exercise and I enjoyed it to a point. Then my knees gave out and I switched to walking. That is much more enjoyable. Thanks for sharing again this week.

You did make us smile when you said a friend had asked you if you wanted to go for a run and you thought she’d said rum!! My husband loved the sound of chocolate rum and given me an idea for a present - must look out for it. I agree about cities and towns, uncomfortable places. I've lived out in the woods for 48 years now. When I visit folks in town I'm always a bit on edge. I could never get into Jogging. not good for knees. A fast walk is better for burning the right calories. I battered up my knees being a dog musher for years. couldn't jog to save my life. Thanks again for taking us along.

Ahoy There, Me Heidi, thanks for amnother great weekly vlog. Just to clarify, like you im more of a lemon bun and brew person rather than a jogger (like you ive never swen a happy jogger lol). As for the Urban Splash developments on rhe cabal in Altrincham (the ones mum doesn't like), I lived in one for 9 months back in 2008. Expensive (the company i worked for paid for it) and nothing special to write home about (although i was lucky to have one with views over the canal). We always said, its the same on canals as railways, in that the closer you get to the centre of towns, the mindless ones come out and the grafitti gets closer together.The worst thing we ever got caught round our prop was a sari, glittery blue, but a right b****to cut off, down the glorious weed hatch again, yuck.

You are so fortunate you get to drink while narrowboating. Here in Canada they are VERY much against any booze on the water (unless you are moored in a houseboat). They don't even let you drink when you are out on a frozen lake, doing ice fishing. Imagine, freezing your butt off, staring down an ice hole (don't be rude!), holding your little rod out(I'll not repeat myself about being rude), and not being able to have something to warm you up?
I love the no people environment but exceptions can be made for normal good people which is rare but achievable lol 👍love your channel great chilled watch I've turned into a hermit too lol😤 but I'm OK 🙏

Fun fact, the guy that is credited with inventing the craze of jogging by writing a best selling book all about it in America Jim Fixx(not that one 😮) died from a heart attack while out for his daily run at the age of 52 RIP. I live in Oklahoma, so no canals and no narrowboats. I've had to procure a *fantasy* narrowboat (which are much cheaper than you might think). I've been struggling to settle on a name for it, but The Happy Jogger is a contender. After all, it's imaginary. Not real. Thank you, Heidi! Thank you, Bonny! Maybe when I settle on a name, I'll write a ditty about my pretend narrowboat and my unbelievable journeys through the Great Plains Canal System!
The fella who made jogging popular, dropped dead while out jogging at age 53 ish , and most of the joggers I see ( especially the older ones ) could walk just as fast , I guess it's each to their own , I did a bit into my youth while on a get fit kick but it was as boring as cold porridge.
Enjoyed your vlog! As a single woman, I know it pays to be aware of your surroundings and go with your gut. If a place doesn't feel right, you move on. If it feels okay, you stay. I'd like to know where your little custom music pieces are from. Heard them during the map graphic and a little here and there, with some nice male vocals. They're great fun, naming you and Bonny and the boat. Very much in the sea shanty style. Must say, the dolls were well behaved in that back cabin today. Hope there hasn't been a disagreement or anything. 😘
Followed your journeys since my wife and I with some of my family enjoyed our June Narrowboat Holiday. Looked back at some of your previous trips and we seem to have some things in common. Boats/ships you on Canals my wife and I on Sailing Ships mainly Brigs and Brigantines. Our love of history, you with your Pirates ourselves with Privateers. We represented William Dampier, a Privateer. Royal Navy man who lived 1651 to 1715 and Circumnavigated the world three times and wrote a book on each journey. Privateers and Pirates can steal things, but Privateers have permission to do so. We love animals and have two rescue cats. We love what you do and how you tell the various stories and Bonny is a hit plus we love your music.

I have never understood the attitude of the Bridgewater Canal Society they seem very anti boater.If you did return sooner than 28 days what could they do about it,at only 39 miles you could be in and out in a day or so.I was once advised that if they harass or try to bully you then call the police because their policy is not enforceable by law.
Heidi, let us know what would you do if you broke down on a canal and could not fix it yourself. How would you get an engineer out to help fix your boat? Cheers

Once you get into running and increased your hardiness, running makes you feel good and there’s some satisfaction in running more than four miles (my run) without getting out of breath. When I first started running I could only run 1 block so I ran a block, walked a block, ran a block, etc. It took a while to build up but eventually I was running four and a half miles 7 days a week. Love your videos. I look forward to them every week. Love to Bonny too.
Love watching your channel and this time you were right by where I live near Dunham. I can see the boats on the canal from my recording studio window and have always loved canal boats and the idea of continuous cruising. My partner and I did hire a boat from Boothstown Marina a few years back and did an out and return to Lymm. It is a lovely canal especially on the rural section from Oldfield Brow to Lymm. I am lucky to have it as my regular walk, right on my doorstep. Looking forward to your next installment 👍

Ahoy and shiver me timbers. Cor, a lemon bun, looks very squidgy, you piglet you (I'm really jealous if the truth be known, never had a bun with a lemon topping). Now I feel hungry, its all your fault. Bloomin' nuisance that weed, the answer is gunpowder, it dun 'arf shift it, it'll land 5 fields away no worries; you'll see cows wandering about with a confused expression and festooned with weed! Some don't like it, no sense of humour some people. Its also useful indoors, saves dusting, once a year before /Christmas is a good time, just a pinch or two about the house but beware, you must open all the windows and doors to let it out otherwise you wouldn't credit the mess it makes, you'll find your kitchen cooker in next Wednesday! That aged Rum doesn't look very nice, best let me test it for you first, might take a few tries, you can't tell from the first four dozen sips!🤣 Ah har me hearties, old smuggler Frank n a tot o' rum!😆😂🥰
Looking forward to your trip to Leigh. Owned a house overlooking the canal in 88 for a year. Nice modern house but 2alls were paper thin. Got new neighbours who owned a narrowboat and moored outside our and their house. Picksley St. Keep an eye out for it. Bought a 4 year old house for 24k which was 16k new. Sold a year later for 41k.
Jogging isn’t good for your joints…running on the other hand is great! It’s a simple sport, just need some good shoes and away you go. It’s a good way to clear your mind! Tow paths would be excellent for running!!! Quiet, in the country, dirt….oh yeah!!!

Followed your journeys since my wife and I with some of my family enjoyed our June Narrowboat Holiday. Looked back at some of your previous trips and we seem to have some things in common. Boats/ships you on Canals my wife and I on Sailing Ships mainly Brigs and Brigantines. Our love of history, you with your Pirates ourselves with Privateers. We represented William Dampier, a Privateer. Royal Navy man who lived 1651 to 1715 and Circumnavigated the world three times and wrote a book on each journey. Privateers and Pirates can steal things, but Privateers have permission to do so. We love animals and have two rescue cats. We love what you do and how you tell the various stories and Bonny is a hit plus we love your music.

I live in Chorlton, not far from the Bridgewater at Stretford. I think its safe in the Marinas but anywhere else i would be cautious.

I have never understood the attitude of the Bridgewater Canal Society they seem very anti boater.If you did return sooner than 28 days what could they do about it,at only 39 miles you could be in and out in a day or so.I was once advised that if they harass or try to bully you then call the police because their policy is not enforceable by law.
I can’t cruise long days as i still work full time so 4 hrs a day is enough for me
Heidi, let us know what would you do if you broke down on a canal and could not fix it yourself. How would you get an engineer out to help fix your boat? Cheers

Once you get into running and increased your hardiness, running makes you feel good and there’s some satisfaction in running more than four miles (my run) without getting out of breath. When I first started running I could only run 1 block so I ran a block, walked a block, ran a block, etc. It took a while to build up but eventually I was running four and a half miles 7 days a week.

Love watching your channel and this time you were right by where I live near Dunham. I can see the boats on the canal from my recording studio window and have always loved canal boats and the idea of continuous cruising. My partner and I did hire a boat from Boothstown Marina a few years back and did an out and return to Lymm. It is a lovely canal especially on the rural section from Oldfield Brow to Lymm. I am lucky to have it as my regular walk, right on my doorstep. Looking forward to your next installment 👍

Hiedi kayaked all of Bridgewater except the Runcorn arm,its my favorite canal,for kayaking,though I live 3 minutes from the Rochdale canal

Ahoy and shiver me timbers. Cor, a lemon bun, looks very squidgy, you piglet you (I'm really jealous if the truth be known, never had a bun with a lemon topping). Now I feel hungry, its all your fault. Bloomin' nuisance that weed, the answer is gunpowder, it dun 'arf shift it, it'll land 5 fields away no worries; you'll see cows wandering about with a confused expression and festooned with weed! Some don't like it, no sense of humour some people. Its also useful indoors, saves dusting, once a year before /Christmas is a good time, just a pinch or two about the house but beware, you must open all the windows and doors to let it out otherwise you wouldn't credit the mess it makes, you'll find your kitchen cooker in next Wednesday! That aged Rum doesn't look very nice, best let me test it for you first, might take a few tries, you can't tell from the first four dozen sips!🤣 Ah har me hearties, old smuggler Frank n a tot o' rum!😆😂🥰
Looking forward to your trip to Leigh. Owned a house overlooking the canal in 88 for a year. Nice modern house but 2alls were paper thin. Got new neighbours who owned a narrowboat and moored outside our and their house. Picksley St. Keep an eye out for it. Bought a 4 year old house for 24k which was 16k new. Sold a year later for 41k.
Jogging isn’t good for your joints…running on the other hand is great! It’s a simple sport, just need some good shoes and away you go. It’s a good way to clear your mind! Tow paths would be excellent for running!!! Quiet, in the country, dirt….oh yeah!!!
