King's Lynn Heritage Open Day 2024 with vintage buses and classic cars

Another visit to King's Lynn is featured in this film for the annual Heritage Open Day. Vintage buses were once again in action taking passengers to and from the attractions and buildings.
There was so much to do with live music and demonstrations, boat trips, guided tours, re-enactments and a chance to see many historic buildings not normally open to the public. The film starts with some of the cars arriving at the classic car show and some of the buses also.I visited Hanse House and Hampton Court before taking a trip to Middleton on a Towlers 1952 Bedford bus. There is a look at the East Norfolk Militia, St George's Guildhall and some live music on stage at the Tuesday Market with the Summertime Kings with plenty of dancing. Later in the day it was off to The Walks for a look around the Red Mount Chapel then you can see Rachel Bea at the Saturday Market.

Your bus list missed out YYB 118 - H&C of South Petherton Dennis Lancet UF (1957) which was running on the Gaywood circular and also the Middleton Tour from Staithe Square.

I heard of at least two buses that did not attend due to mechanical issues and drivers also a bit short. However all present worked hard to cover services. Demand was high with routes described as quiet last year running fully loaded. They also had to deal with emergency road works that changed the timetable at the last moment. ​@GrahamSleath

@@nicholaswebster5134 Enormous credit to all the bus owners and drivers for all their efforts despite all the challenges. They are such a big part of the day and the buses themselves create plenty of interest for many.
