Ohh, a book about bookshops and bookselling in other countries would be wonderful. I’m going to attempt to go down that rabbit hole and if I find something, I’ll let you know 😊 Colorful sounds like a fabulous book. Her advice of being true to yourself we should all relate to. It’s not groundbreaking but sometimes it’s what we need to hear more than once. You had a very interesting reading month, thank you for sharing it with us.

Red Sauce, Brown Sauce endpapers are beautiful 😍 I had a real Tudortember reading month. I read David Starkey's biography on Elizabeth I and Lamentation by CJ Sansom. I'm also doing a Tudor jigsaw puzzle. As much as I love Victorian literature, I'm almost still wanting to read more Tudor related books, which of course, I can, but I'll try to switch gears for Victober 😁

I enjoyed, speaking of Nazi lovers, I am currently reading Hitler's Girl, which features Unity and Diana Mitford (of course, yet again) but also all the members of the British aristos, who cosied up to Hitler (the Cliveden Set and others), it is non-fiction by Lauren Young. September, most of my reads were Historical fiction, Shadows on the Rock by Willa Cather, about founding of old Quebec city, and two with nebulous ties to the Tudors, one The Importance of Wives about Anne of Brittany and Lady of the Tower about Lucy St. John, born during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I but mostly about the rise of the Villiers family during the reign of James I.

Have you come across two of her other semi-autobiographical works - One Pair of Feet and One Pair of Hands about her experiences as a hospital nurse and a private cook. Both very funny.
