My dad had a Jaguar SS, through the late forties/fifties and up to about 62, but thats the extent of my knowledge of Jaguars, he sold it to a friend for ten pounds in the early sixties with a promise/condition that he would do it up, (he said he would)I think it needed some suspension bushes. Long story short he didn’t, lost interest in it and scrapped it. Let’s just say this guy was persona non grata after that. I think if dad had known that, he would have just have parked it up in a cart shed on the farm and left it. It was lovely, green leather seats, walnut dash, push button starter, wire wheels etc.i can still recall every detail of it.
Brilliant car. A pleasure to view it , people put JLR down cos they think they are unreliable. I have a jaguar xe r-sport, and the best car I've had ,look after them and they as reliable as any make . What a stunning car I hope the lucky person that buys it keeps the car up to the same standard as the former keeper's have .
I'm a proud owner of a 2014 X351 which I love, but a neighbour owned a silver S Type for twenty five years until his death. Always had the waft factor. He was a bearded headmaster who wore his Jaguar with pride, despite it being a Mondeo in a Tuxedo.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news and the corrector of misinformation but the Jaguar S-Type isn’t a Mondeo in disguise. The S-Type is a proper Jaguar albeit it shared a floor pan with a Lincoln.
Every video I go, I WISH, I WISH, I WISH. The only thing that stops me is that I don't have and appropriate place to keep it out of elements . Oh I WISH!
Bought my 2000 x reg s type with 40000 miles 15 months ago. Love it and use it every day!!
I had a 1999 one of these. Dark Blue (best colour). Best car I ever owned. Loved it. Gentleman's car.
Bought one in 2001. Loved it. Kept it for 14 years.
