yooo i made this mod, i'm shocked to see such an in-depth showcase so fast, you showed off almost every single significant detail. thank you!
here are some other small features i like
-Greed's ghost will collect coins and heal itself even after the body is dead
-Certain tech based enemies in fiend folio have a special laser ghost
-If you don't damage Baby Plum's ghost at all until it returns, she will be automatically spared
-Not just bonies but almost all skeleton ghosts are chained to their bodies
-Fiend Folio's Buster gets turned into Ghostbuster on hit, though it's real buggy
-There are custom hungry soul and purgatory ghost sprites for various floors
-Poop-like monsters and bosses will shoot out ghostly single-room dip familiars, some with custom sprites
-Mullighouls spawned by Mulligans are harmless and don't need to be killed to clear the room, with the exception of the tainted Mullighoul
While the idea behind the mod is pretty cool, the item itself feels nerfed, which I'm not a fan of, so should be considered a fun toy rather than a powerful item (also because you are always getting one in a run). I saw it's titled Ghost Pepper 2, so the old one is still present with the same sprite?
Here are my suggestions:
1. Not only enemies stay still and don't shoot when the soul is flying around, but also should take more damage in that state (perhaps lower armor or set it to 0?)
2. I liked the tainted mulligan case that he dies when the soul is away for like 5 seconds. Considering present trigger/anger mechanic, this probably should be more common?
@@GoodSmile3 the ghost pepper 2 thing is something i forgot to fix before release, it appears as just ghost pepper now. I don't see a nerf to this item as a bad thing
Could you maybe make a custom sprite for it plus an option so that it doesnt replace normal ghost pepper? I love your rework but i also like the og ghost pepper, so i would love to have both
Is there a synergy with Vade Retro?
@@theoryoftheinnocent kinda, it's just the same default interaction for all the monsters with the ghost tag so it instakills them when they're at a certain health percentage
Fun fact: duke of flies turns into the rebirth duke of flies when the soul is extracted

I do like that you arent really extracting his soul, more the giant ball of flies that animates him
I love this new effect, unfortunately I don't think I want to replace the original effect (since it is too satisfactory to melt enemies and bosses with it). I feel this should have been it's own item rather than a replacer. If they made it into its own item, I would pretty much install this mod.
Scorpion Pepper would be a good one!

for a second when you turned into the lost form I almost freaked, because my first thought was that the lost could ENTER enemies as a replacement soul, and you'd be able to control them. That would've been SOOOOOOO COOL!

That just reminded me of the game where you literally do just that, RAM.
There are a few games that let you do what you described, but I remember RAM since it's primary gameplay is just that and it isn't tied to multiplayer gimmicks

I remember this multiplayer rougelike where one person controls a super simple character, and the other person possesses monsters in the room, and then the person who wasn’t controlling the hero could level up the monsters between floors.
It was a suuuper cool concept.
I think it was called Crawl.
The number of sprites for ghosts is what make this mod a 10/10 for me
On one hand: I really like the original ghost pepper as it's just a great crowd control item
On the other hand: Bird's Eye exists in Repentance and giving Ghost Pepper something different beyond spectral fire is warranted.
On the third mutated hand: I have way to many mods, I get minor glitches like Isaac teleporting to the bottom of the starting room each floor, and I'm nervous something is going to break if I get a mod this big.
oh shit I have that weird teleport glitch as well lmao, literally no idea which mod causes it
@kwapow8135 what mods do you have? Maybe we can figure this out?
@@anoriginalusername1088 to figure out what mod does this, you can do this:
1- disable 50% of mods
if the issue persists, then disable half of the mods left enabled. repeat this until you only have one mod
2- if the issue is gone, then enable them back, and instead disable the other half
I always do this when I have some glitch, and it takes like 20 minutes
This is absolutely amazing
But the regular ghost pepper is probably stonger
I really like this mod, I would love to see it get added! Maybe not as a replacement tho
I do like Ghost Pepper and there are a few item ids without items so they could add something like it (I mean, they did add an item in an update before... even if it was gfuel)

This is such a unique way to make a stun mechanic. Props to the dev for their creativity.
I don't like that it replaces ghost pepper, but i have to say it's avery unique item.
Btw if they wanted to keep the item and the spicy pepper theme, they should make it a Carolina Reaper

As someone who is very white, my soul leaves my body when I even get breathed on by some who just ate a ghost pepper 20/10 mod.
As an indigenous person, I can confirm I have eaten a ghost pepper and caused someone's soul to leave their body just by breathing in their general direction

I absolutely love this function, it reworks how ghost pepper works, makes it more safer and still makes it as cool as it already was!

it would be cool if you could maybe disable the secret ghost pepper unlock method or maybe allow both ghost pepper and the reworked one coexist
This feels more like a character mechanic because of the added challenge

Mods like this kinda makes me wish Repentence would get the ol' "Booster Pack" treatment like Afterbirth+ did
I mean one could argue it kinda still is in spirit, except they're just plainly updates as opposed to being glittered up with a funky name, but still
Though, I do feel like the way this rework is could be its own item as opposed to changing Ghost Pepper entirely, I know a lot of folks would beg to differ considering we have _two_ pepper-based items that have a 50% chance to shoot a flame at 10 luck, but keep in mind: Ghost Pepper came first as it was added in AB+, Bird's Eye is the one that came in in Repentance and caused this problem
Plus there's two candle active items with basically the same problem [granted, it's a reference to Zelda 1, which makes sense, goes without saying Isaac was _very_ inspired by it from the start] so I don't think it's the end of the world to have a similar issue with the peppers
But yeah, could be called "Carolina Reaper" or somethin', considering the Grim Reaper's job is supposed to be collecting souls, it'd probably make some degree of sense

It’s cool but without piercing it’s just a remixed mom’s paralyzing+lost contact with how impractical it is hitting the spawned ghosts
Albeit the ease of access does mean that there isn’t a reason two not get the item

Idk, it feels like it's lacking that Q3 oomph, I would personally suggest something like making the ghosts chase another enemies in their range, or a mechanic where if every enemy left is a ghosted one, the bodies die and the room is cleared. It's very cool and the work behind it is very much appreciated, but it's still lacking that "oh, so good" feeling that justifies picking it up, like this it's just a glorified Mom's Contacts

This is very cool, but I think it should be its own item instead of replacing Ghost Pepper. Ghost Pepper is just really good of an item and really satisfying, and I think this one is a bit less effective overall.
honestly, ide say rename this thing "reaper pepper" and make it a challenge item
while cool, in most situations this item is just worse than normal ghost pepper, yeah if you get the soul out not only can the enemy not move anymore but you can kill the soul with much less damage, but on the other hand very often to get to the soul you're going to be making a risk, meanwhile the damage from ghost pepper would probably just kill the enemy instead, i think this would be much better if the flame did stay on the ground and it exorcised every enemy that came in contact with it until put out, also make the flames deal bonus damage tho ghost enemies

What happens with those possessed skeletons in Clutch's fight?
Two questions:
1. Does buster just get a ghostbuster ghost?
1. If you eraser the normal ghost that most enemies have, would it erase all of those normal ghosts immediately or only the ones of that particular enemy?
Idk about the first one but the second one
It would eliminate ones of the same type (fatty ghosts wont erase the duke's ghost)
yes to both, i hadn't thought about that second point, most of the skinned ghosts are the same npc with the sprites replaced

Tried it, nothing happens - makes sense since they have only one soul. :D
@@IsaacGuruthere’s a tiny lil effect, you get a bit of a bonus damage multiplier
it used to be more significant but it would instakill most spirits so i reduced it a bunch lol

I think it's much weaker, but funny and much work was done over it
I think replacing the original is too much
I prefer just to change a sprite for a more fiery look
Because the original one is too solid choice to leave it away

Cool idea but realistically doesn't work super well. Ghost Pepper is a perfectly fine item and this just makes it cumbersome and weird, regardless of the giant amount of textures.
