- The 2023 Dodge Challenger Shakedown - its full name is Challenger Shakedown R/T Scat Pack - is the first of the Last Call cars. As the name implies, the Shakedown name is a nod to the original 1971 Dodge Shakedown Challenger concept unveiled at the 2016 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas. Production of the special Last Call version will be limited to 1,000 cars, split between two different variations: 500 Shakedowns will be Dodge Challenger Scat Packs finished in Destroyer Gray, and the other 500 Shakedowns will be Dodge Challenger Scat Pack Widebodies finished in Pitch-Black, which is what we have here. Prices start at $65,185.

Being the proud owner of a 2023 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1/1LE in a six speed manual of course. If I were to buy one if these Shakedowns, it would NEVER be in an automatic. There is no better feeling than rowing through those gears! 🇺🇸👍🇺🇸
who actually asked or gave af? manny, automatic, who gives ash? drive it however you wanna drive it, people
Just bought the manual version of this car. WOW.
Got my Challenger Hellcat few months ago.
Love that iconic piece of history.
Especially here in Europe it is "unique".
That's rad!
@@user-vg3lt3cs8q Great
@@user-vg3lt3cs8q No, I didn't. But depends how you treat it. The basic hemi, as I could read a lot in the internet should be very reliable. The hellcat also, but of course needs maybe a little bit more attention.
I thought they'd put you in jail there for owning that car! LOL
@@DSMillwright Some guys would like to do that, I am sure :D
Just financed a 2022 manual of this version. It’ll be paid off in 3 years. I don’t have any regrets. I’ve wanted this car a long time and finally decided to pull the trigger. We only live once. This car makes my daily commute to work pleasant. Nothing about this car offends me. It’s a work of art.
It's funny was a c7 owner only looking at Vette stuff on UA-cam. But I just brought a widebody hellcat Challenger a few days ago!!!! Now I can't stop watching dodge videos.
I'm in the same boat!! Just traded my C6 Vette for a Scat Pack last week. I used to watch so many Corvette videos, but this week I've binge-watched a ton of Challenger videos!! Kind of surprised to see C6's are faster than the 392, my Scat just feels quicker😋
The Harmon Kardon stereo in these cars is impressive for what it is.
Nice video
Yeah it really is!
I know this car has quite a few options, but I can't get my mind around paying $60k+. When these came out, they were in the $40k range, right? But to be fair, ALL cars are overpriced now. Middle class people are priced out.
You can buy a base R/T fro around the 40k mark, but the Scat Packs start around 60k
@@ClassicCars_TVcrazy to think about how much they went up in price though. Idk if I can pay 60k for one
@@ClassicCars_TVI bought Scat pack for 58K
Base Scat Packs list for around 48k now
@@garybishop4030gotta add the wideboddy in which puts it near 60.
Beautiful car but definitely shouldn’t start at 60-70k original price was 56k
Dude... the shaker is FULLY functional. You can literally see the plumbing for it at 6:49 (The hose clamp in the shadows) and the air inlet it leads to at 6:55. There are vendors online that sell an airbox cover as well for this set up.
Not functional
Fully not functional
It is indeed functional, there’s a great deal of research on it.
I own one. It has a tube running from the shaker to the airbox. Although the standard hood with the heat extractors does run cooler than the shaker version.
@@garybishop4030 I’ve tested it both with closed and open air boxes. It may run cooler in the stock airbox, the engine is more responsive with the shaker intake and open air filter.
My favorite newer car of all time. I’ll take a Shaker over anything. That damn hood scoop, man. Keep the Demon 170. Give me THAT hood. Sadly, I’ll never own a Shaker. By the time I would have, they’ll all be used, driven hard, and with substantial mileage. RIP to my dream.
Mine is arriving next week in Pitch Black. I can't wait!
Nice!
What markup did you pay?
I don’t know u but congratulations this car is impressive I just learned of it with this review
Cool I want one too!
Edit: don't worry about the haters that can't afford one. You want it, then buy it!
Yes, the Shaker is functional.
What does it do? It has already cold air intakes in the grille.
Not on the Scat Pack, Hellcat and up.
@@garybishop4030wrong...
We are Brampton assembly have enjoyed making all of these cars I myself am looking at that identical one but a six speed since I already have a Hellcat keep up the good work and look forward to more video Contant🎉
Y’all should chill out with that warm camera filter.. kinda hard to look at/takes away from the cars natural colors. Enjoying the content regardless 🔥
Also the shaker is functional
Great video. Thank you
Just a couple of corrections for this video. Someone else already pointed out the first that the Shaker is functional, the second is the shakedown has the cross traffic back up system that works very well for backing, the pitch black only comes in standard transmission in the destroyer gray only comes with automatic, I do agree the price does make you win when you purchase it, especially. Lol😅. As long as you're able to find a dealer that is not adding to the sticker price it's not too bad, unfortunately that is difficult
And yet this car is an automatic.
And this video he said they have a 16 1/2 gallon tank a gas tank is actually 18 1/2.
Remove the stickers, give me a stick ;) and it's perfect.
The shaker works has a tube to bring air to the filter box.
The Shaker is functional
Yeah it routes air to the air box, but isn’t functional in the same way the original Shakers acted as ram air directly into the carburetor.
Because there is no carburetor
@@jimmyp7082you said it all.
Revived look was reveled in 2015 actually but who's counting.. Great review
Thanks!
why point that gopro on your face on the test drive! are we reviewing the car or we reviewing you? theres a backwindow or passenger window, get a suction cup, stick it there then keep talking.
What I really want is a widebody rt with six speed manual and AWD/front disconnect switch.
You can only get the AWD with the 3.8 V6 motor, although I agree that it would be great for launches in the Scat Pack with the 485 HP 392 V8!
A Challenger without a wide body shouldn’t even be made! 😂
Don’t always got to follow the crowd man. I love the look without the wide body. If people start putting pink ribbons on they car you would be on here saying they shouldn’t even make a challenger without pink ribbons 😂. Followers 😂😂
Definitely, It was widebody or nothing fir me.
I'm a fan of the standard body, I think they should have never done a wide body
I have the standard body too. It doesn't handle as well but it's much cheaper and I happen to like the retro look.
Agree 1000%. The Widebody, even though it is a $6600 option, does include more than the fender flares, such as the Brembo 6 piston front / 4 piston rear brakes with 15.4" two piece rotors, the Competition Suspensuon that is adjustable, the flat bottom steering wheel, the Performance Pages, the wider 305/35ZR20 tires on all FOUR corners; and more. Just the LOOKS of it over a narrow body Challenger or Charger is worth it to me. Oh., and the Widebody comes only with the 485 horsepower 392 V8 OR ABOVE, so you're guaranteed to get lots of HP and torque as well. The 392 V8 makes 475 lb-ft of torque to fo with its 475 HP and it only gets better as you go up the line to Hellcat and more.
I'm getting my 2023 dodge challenger scatback widebody car very soon
That car isnt worth $67K, not even $50K, it's 45K tops. Insanity
Sounds system, uconnect 5, wide body and just overall all better quality from 5 years ago
67K? That would be a bargain at this point in time. I've been shopping these, with the ADM's dealers are adding, they are now listing for 87K. With tax, tags title and fees, you are over 100K OTD. Now that's true insanity
Pandemic really Fked prices. My car shopping is copart or Facebook marketplace 😅
GOOD CAR
Has anyone ever installed a Centrifugal Supercharger on 1?
I'm u guessing the appeal is the nostalgia aspect i.e. if you own eda 80's version ....and want a new one with a few modern day technologies lke a NAV screen, more "streetable" suspension (as it is a drag car-oriented)....but if you live in the city.......might not be the best choice...nor if you live in the burbs...it's TOO BIG....best for guys who live outside the city iMHO. For the city i'd want sometone with some agility/maneuverablity.....Unless beating that Kia to the stoplight is important...heh...though you don't need a Demon to do tTHAT heh...
Is this video about a dodge challenger or you?
Is it worth getting the car if the price is 42k with 6k miles on it
I guess the air intake sticking out the hood isn't the 1st sign that it's a shakedown? 🤔😅 Jk. Loved the walk around
The Shaker hood could be optioned on other cars aside from the shake down! This is just another indicator of it being the shakedown!
Is it better to buy over the Dodge Challenger SRT HellCat RedEye WideBody? Do you prefer that over the Dodge Challenger SRT HellCat RedEye WideBody? Does it drive better over the SRT HellCat RedEye WideBody?
The only difference with the Hellcat and Hellcat Redeye models over the Widebody Scat Pack is the engine and the fact that the two Hellcat models have leather interior standard., which us not available in the Scat Pack, and oh yes - gauges with a red background and tge speedometer goes to 180.mph (Hellcat) or 200 mph (Redeye). The suspension, tires, away bars, brakes, etc are the same - as long as the Widebody is present.
The fix for the blind spots is a 360 degree camera.
Blind Spot Monitoring is acaikable. There are no cars where the 360 degree "overhead view" camera works at speeds over about 10 mph. The BSM system is the best way to go. As soon as you activate your turn signal, the BSM system will beep if another vehicle is in your blind spot.
@scottandrews4822 I meant at low speed and when parking. You can also improve rear visibility by installing a rear view digital dash cam.
Oscar that a red stripe or orange
Not dig'n the stripes. Rather have my 2023 TorRed 1320.
Bruh u look just like Luka Doncic 😂
17mpg enjoying it 🤣🤣🤣 yea right
👍👍👍
Comes with everything but a sunroof. No bueno..
Sunroofs are for your wife's Lexus, they don't belong on MOPARS....
Sunroof is a Cool feature...the old lady love it😅
A sunroof is an OPTIONAL feature but is not atandard.
I'll take the Scat' over the Hellcat anyday.
You need to do better homework especially in a car that has basically no new features except some cheap badging and decals…and a large following
Luka?
Stopped watching when I realized it was automatic transmission.
Your times are quicker with the Automatic.
@@markkelley7084True, byr the manual is better for keeping the driver engaged and for that retro musckecar look and sound as you're going through the gears!!
@@markkelley7084By about 0.2 seconds 0-60. On the street, it would be whoever got off the line first. Plus, no.matter what one has, there is always a faster vehicle somewhere. So, enjoy the driving EXPERIENCE with the manual and forget about the possible 0.2 seconds 0-60 difference. If a person with a manual does get off the line first, you're going to have your hands full.
Who's your detail person?, this car is dirty.
Will never buy electric anything for cars
Ditto. Automatic 😢
These "reviews" should mention the ridiculous markups Dodge is allowing these dealers to get away with.
Dodge has no control over what dealers do.
That is ALL makes of cars, not just Dodge.
