- This is my part two video of the modifying the stock exhaust on my Indian Scout bobber. Watch my Part 1 Video first. Been out riding the bikes after part 2 and the sound is spot on. It’s loud but not overwhelming loud, does not drone in your helmet and make your ears ring. Sounds so good on acceleration and cruising. It’s the perfect set up for your factory exhaust in my opinion. Looks great too! If you can do this modification yourself it costs nothing and saves you the money of buying an aftermarket exhaust.
What a great job you've done. I put TAB Performance shorties on my Rogue with the 1.75 " "quiet" baffles - which are still way too loud. So I also installed some of those cheap DB killers to tame the sound a little. That is working well for me. However, I kept the original mufflers, and I think I might replicate what you have done. Your mufflers are now both aesthetically pleasing as well as sounding grunty and deep. Congratulations mate.
Wao, How amazing is the video !
Your welding skills are great. One other thing that would have helped would be to wrap the internals with a sheet of fiberglass.
Awesome
Like my bike, the modified Cans are to loud….. 😢
Would you mind posting the lengths you cut these to. I plan to pick up the scout rogue here soon and I would like to replicate this. Sounds better than a lot of the alternative exhausts i have been looking at.
I cut 9 1/4” off the top muffler and 11 1/4” of the bottom
Great video, thx so much!! Q: In the original exhaust , does the inner pipe go the full length? Can i keep it that way but shortened (cut the inner to match the outer length)?
Yes the inner pipe is the full length, you have to cut the same amount off of the inner pipe that you do in the outer. Check out my part one video, it shows what I pulled out of the exhaust when I cut it apart
I just picked up a Rogue and very well may try to do this. I noticed that the baffle in the center pipe was already cut out in the video, but did you leave it like that? I may leave it in and see how it sounds as I could always drill it out after if felt it is needed.
Yes if you watch my part one video I talked about removing the centers, wouldn’t be a bid idea to leave it in and try it first then if you want it loaded take it out
@@desertmetalfab3170 thanks for the informative video. It helped me out with doing my mufflers this past weekend. I cut the weld, removed the baffles, cut 7" off of the mufflers, cut the baffles in half, and then welded the baffles back in. Vast improvement on looks and a little better sound (deeper but not loud at all). I may drill out the baffle after the bike has some mileage on it.
Drill the bigger holes at a angle for more flow
