I would say the description is wrong. I doubt that this is an improvisation, rather an arrangement designed to show off the abilities of two extraordinarily talented kids. Granted, their flare gives it an improvised feel but it is clear that all the "licks" are well rehearsed. I've played with polina recently (Mendellsohn) and she has not changed one bit. Except that she has matured appropriately both musically and... Well... Anyway, what a wonderful video. Altogether grotesque and beautiful.
