- Rare performance. Labelle, lead singer Patti LaBelle with Sarah Dash and Nona Hendryx. This performance is years before then they change their image and release hit song "Lady Marmalade". Patti was 26 years young and her vocals are unbelievable. Enjoy! :-)

Patti's voice is so resonant, she is creating her own overtones. This woman knows how to sing correctly.

Just when I think there is nothing else on UA-cam worth seeing... this is INCREDIBLE! That signature "LaBelle harmony is tight as a drum and Patti is already a FIRECRACKER here coming out their Bluebell days. I thought she ripped the lid off much later so this is a true history lesson for me. THANK YOU FOR SHARING! I have sat in Patti's kitchen w/ her watching old UA-cam clips of performances she has long since forgotten. She gets very tickled seeing them... hairstyles, wardrobe, band members, behind-the-scenes stories conjured up. I can almost guarantee she hasn't seen this one.

This my first time seeing this video and I am floored. It's a sound about Labelle that nobody can match, omg if theyvwere young today. Those girls were just 25-26 years old sounding like they sound today, RIP Sarah🙏🏽💞.

My friend took me to see Patti for my 40th birthday. I hadn't been out of the city in years and I was soo excited. When the show was over, we'd just gotten off the elevator and were almost at our room when my friend said; "Look we're on the same floor. I went to her kissed her and told her my name was Patti too. It was my b'day and thanked her for being my "gift !" She smiled, sweat was pouring from her and I know she was tired. It was a wonderful weekend, one I'll never forget.
Just do it Patty, Nona and Sarah. Now that's singing and all of them have strong voices.
Damn, they are freaking fierce, and I'm THAT much better for having heard this.
