That's wrong. I even look this up and read articles about this. Lincoln made peace with that tribe with them having the American Flag, white flag, and the medal beforehand. It was the soldiers, especially the colonel who had dishonored and shamed the peace. They didn't receive any medals but they weren't convicted unfortunately for this atrocious crime. There really was no justice for Natives back then.
