My scandinavian friend called her friend 'Archidis' instead of 'Argiris'
Needless to write that after a moment of silence ... everyone dropped to the floor laughning !

This one was very funny 🤣🤣🤣.
The hard part is writing all the names you mentioned, because this also defines the meaning along with the tone:
    Αγόρι - boy
Αγγούρι - cucumber (γγ -G, but depending on the word also γκ - G, ου - U)
    Πόλη - city
    Πολύ - much
Πολλή - a lot of (feminine form)
Πολλά - many things (plural form)
Πολλοί - many people (plural form)
    Πουλί - bird
The EEs are also many : η, ι, υ, ει, οι and the tone on the diphthongs goes on the second letter.
The Fs can be φ or ευ - ef (εύκολο - easy. ευχαριστώ - thanks, ευχάριστο - pleasant)
If you want to pronounce the letters of a diphthong separately they must be written εϊ - οϊ so that they are pronounced HEY or like your favorite OI.
If there is a tone as well, then it can be on the first letter like έι or όι and this means a separate pronunciation of the letters.
Regarding the TAXI driver story, I think it's better to say you don't understand something, rather than say yes to something you don't know what it really means.
Keep up the good work about learning Greek.

    Ni är så trevliga!!!
En liten tip bara om ord "αγόρι" och "αγγούρι" ...
När man seger "αγόρι" med en "γ" är liksom på svenska "ge", man seger "(g)e mig nånting" men istället för "e" seger man "å" "agåri", och på ordet "αγγούρι" då är det vanligt g som på svenska "ja(g)", hoppas att det hjälper lite 😉

You guys are adorable ! This was so funny and cute! I have one to share! I am Greek American and I am learning Italian (and French), but not living in either of those countries so you can imagine how much slower it is to learn. Anyway, I was having a conversation in Italian and was talking about how I came home very late from a trip the night before. My Italian friend asked me how I slept, since I came home so late. I answered (in Italian): Oh, I took two pilots to bed and I slept great!. I meant to say I took two pills (sleeping pills)...

9:00 Both words came from the same root, so it's understandable that this mistake could be made. At some point in time the meanings of the words from this root started to acquire a new sense and those words started to diverge in meaning. Still, they are not very far off but they are far enough!

Αν θες να πεις για κάποιον/κάποια οτι ειναι soulmate χωρίς όμως να απευθύνεσαι εκείνη την ώρα (άμεσα δηλαδή) σε εκείνον/εκείνη (τότε λέμε φυσικά ότι θα πεις σε κάποιον και όχι για κάποιον), μπορείς να πεις ότι είναι αδερφή ψυχή (literally translates to sister soul )

You are so cute and funny when you speak Greek, its a pleasure for someone to listen..
Now about your struggles with aggouri-αγγουρι-cucamper and agori-αγορι-boy,remeber the diference is the double G, aGGouri for cucumber with a strong pronunciation for G and a single G for aGori with a lighter pronunciation of G ,i hope i am a bit helpful..😂😂 In the next video we will learn about kolokithokeftedes ...

Αγόρι, boy, the G sound is more like an English Y sound. Like, Yiannis, or Year. Αγγούρι which is cucumber , the G sound is like a G sound, like Global and Growth.
It's easier to not make these mistakes if you know how they spell in Greek. I don't know your background, this is the first time I watch your videos. Αγόρι has one "γ"/"g", where Αγγούρι has two. Most of the time when you have two together they make the thick G sound.
    Enjoy your life here!
EDIT: I just noticed others commented on this, I won't just delete it. Sorry I didn't check.
