Personally, with the '18 300XC-W I just picked up, I'm chasing how my first dirt bike ran, a 1996 (iirc) Yamaha WR-250 w/ all the standard power mods. It had the best motor characteristics of any bike I have ever ridden. The wide ratio & heavy flywheel made it lug anywhere I wanted yet it would absolutely scream from mid to top once the pipe hit. All my friends said it was too violent, but maybe I just got used to it, because I thought the power band was very controllable (unlike every YZ80/85 or KX65 that I rode). I haven't enjoyed a 2 cycle as much since. I plan on buying the on the fly power value preload adjuster and swapping the springs. Also, possibly the new Lectron carb with the "third circuit", I just need more time to ride and tinker to figure it all out.

I have decided to run a lighter spring weight than the spec sheet for the suspension says, I feel more traction in the first 4/5 inches of travel. It’s definitely not the best on a motocross track, but in the woods kicks ass. It does decrease the hold up so the bike is choppered out a little bit more resulting in increased rear wheel weight.
Since you sped up the shock rebound did you notice the back end kicking up at all, I thought the sag had more to do with steering and front end cornering like not enough sag and the front wheel wants to tuck under in corners and too much sag and the front end will wash out in turns, is there any mod you can do to improve the turn radius, that's an issue they always seem to overlook, not just KTM but a lot of the manufacturers.
I felt the stock suspension was way too stiff, probably becuase of the new frame. I had turned all the shock and fork compression clickers all the way down and still too harsh for woods riding. I sent my suspension to Factory Suspension Works in Colorado to get tuned up. Oh baby, what a difference. I highly recommend talking to them if you have one of these bikes.

Hey man I have one of these bikes too and I wish I could be certain about exactly which way is which on that rear adjuster. The manuals says turn it all the way counter clockwise, but from what perspective? On a stool next to the bike or from the ground facing up?
Kyle, this is kind of a wild question; but do you think "break in" had anything to do with this. Often we hear the motocrossers and supercrossers talking about "frame" break in - with the more aggressive frame, is it possible the frame is slightly changing geometry and loosening up a bit? Either way, happy to see you getting it dialed! I think these bikes a a big step forward for the Austrians!
Did you hear that interview with Zak Osborne where he said he changed his frame every six hours? That’s mind blowing to me. I have dirt bikes in my garage right now that probably have 500 to 800 hours on the frame.

I herd that the 2023/2024 run out of gas at a little under half of tank with the new location of the new fuel pump on the top of the tank do you know if this is also a problem as well
Well, I'd say yes, on the power mapping. They are not exactly the same on the geometry because the TE has linkage. The forks are likely the same... even if KTM/Husky wants to tell us different. All that said, it might feel different because of the differences in PDS and linkage and how that effects the front end.
I know that you have used the cone valves. My ? is if you have tried the 6500 conversion? Seriously looking at picking up a 23XC and doing the 6500 kit with the savings on them right now.
