    yeah, Brian, so I tried your whole 'superset everything' approach and was doing high intensity heavy deadlifts with kettlebell swings in between and muscle ups. long story short, I threw up.... and was light headed the whole day. Awesome! 😁 😁 😁

    • @andrewmcmahon6432
      @andrewmcmahon6432 7 років тому +1

      Yeah Josh, up until I watch Brian's videos on conditioning I thought 5 minutes on the cross trainer was good enough.
      My favourite conditioning now is 10 minutes of 3 deadlifts at 90% followed by the remainder of the minute doing a plank.
      It's horrific but definitely works

    • @joshjohnston7388
      @joshjohnston7388 7 років тому +1

      Andrew McMahon mine is grabbing 3 plates (just about my bodybweight), crushing them to my chest, and hauling butt down the basketball court. Then i turn around and come back. I suck wind for 20 seconds and then try to beat my time for five more runs. Because Brian says carrying heavy things for speed or distance is a good one. Of course he's right. 😀

    Hey Brian, last year I tore my pattelar ligament and was able to rehab it without surgery. My brother worked at a dog rehab facility and they had a laser that stimulates cellular growth and blood flow. I think the laser is what saved me, so if you know of anywhere that would have a dog laser, try to bribe them to use it on you, good luck man.

    • @yasinpatel12345
      @yasinpatel12345 7 років тому

      This works, I had an mcl tear and used something similar at a chiros office. That plus strengthing the area helped me avoid surgery. I think surgery should be avoided at all costs, unless you can't move or pain threshold is too high. Most the time it just weakens the area even more and is subject to tear again.

    hey Brian:) I have a question about the PowerBuilding program video:
    so you train each of the main four movements once a week and for 3 sets(+assistance)?
    3 sets per week and one heavy session every 3 weeks isn't too little?
    isn't frequency and volume on that main lift important?
    Thank you for everything man you REALLY inspire me every day

  • @stuffbenlikes

    I thought the point of using an axle for deadlifts was because it's harder on the grip, so if you're using straps doesn't that defeat the purpose? I've never used an axle, so maybe there's more to it than grip?

    • @joshjohnston7388
      @joshjohnston7388 7 років тому

      Sam Karr my belt is crap. Velcro and a buckle. 40 bucks. But holy moly does it make a difference on heavy squats and deads. I don't go over 85% without it. Some day, i may warrant a serious belt, but this is not that day.

    I have a Question about the SSB Good Morning. When I am doing the SSB Good Mornings the weight is on my neck as well as in my arms as if I'm holding the bar. Is this the way its supposed to be because In the video it looks like you also take the weight onto your neck but are you also holding the bar up? Should I move the bar lower on my back ? Hope this makes sense. Maybe it can be in a Q&A video.

    • @jayc8442
      @jayc8442 7 років тому

      ShawnRepps your arms are basically just holding the handles it's really not taking any of the weight. Your neck however is going to get built up if you keep doing theses because it really works your neck and traps as well.

    I think jump hanging may be something u should stop... Lol just my opinion. I never felt benefits from that hanging for shoulder pain bullshit btw. Maybe it does work but for certain cases. Wrap ur shoulder in a blanket as u sleep, to keep it warm. I used to do that when I broke my collar bone and it definitely helped reduce inflammation as I woke up. Ya kno when it gets sore the next day. Also sleeping with ur hands in the coffin style, across the stomach, elbows at ur side, works for me personally.
