► Bins in Brighton have been left to overflow for more than a week, leaving streets littered with rubbish. It's all because refuse workers are on strike over pay.
►There are talks going on - but they've run into the long grass after a councilor described the strikers as 'terrorists'.

Good luck to them
The classic problem up and down the country!
Rubbish wages , Treated like crap , spoke down too by management.
More more more work thats all there interested in! But they always forget the pay and conditions.
I'm Dusty Driver myself, its a tough job these days.
'Now is the winter of our discontent'. Let the rubbish pile higher and higher.
✊ keep on fighting.
I am a dustcart driver
Firstly what do you expect working for Veolia UK
Respect and honour is what we expect mostly from The residents
Because you pay your council tax
But its workers like myself who get up at 3,30am
And work in all weather conditions during the epidemic snow rain ice and extreme hot weather
Glasgow and derby have now gone on strike
And I support MU fellow workers
FK em go on strike
Respect man.
In my opinion Highest Risk☢ Job during
Pandemic (aside ICU)
@@page299 it is the highest RISK job
And we NO respect mostly from the public or the FKING government
Worked in Sheffield for 21 years, then onyx and veolia (same company). Left 6 years ago after a spurious health and safety charge. They are a vile company!

That councillor wouldn't even call insulate Britain terrorists so how dare he calls our bin men terrorists.
When most of the country were at home, isolating and anti-viral cleaning everything that came into the home, these folk were 4 or 5 up in bin wagons EVERY WORKING DAY. I personally knew two refuse workers that died from covid, if they had worked in a different industry they would probably be alive today.
Wait so is the issue about pay or not? A GMB spokesperson said that wasn't something they specifically asking for. The line I keep hearing is that they were asked to work different routes and that this was somehow dangerous.
they should get £50k per year
Antoine Frerot. CEO veolia salary 2.2 million. Brighton refuse collector £ 9.50 hr
If you are not happy .find anther job there is lot of HGV jobs out there .Nobody is forcing you to work for council .
Bin men are useless these days. Back in the day when bins had no wheels, the bin men would literally pick a bin up in each hand & empty them & just do their job. These days, you'd think they were a bunch of tiktok users, crying because the tiny bin has 'too much' to push it on it's wheels or that the bin is at the wrong angle & needs turning 90°. They're job is that pointless now that they may as well just start having one guy per truck & save more money.
Next you will be trying to stop us going to the bookies or having a wee power nap after breakfast at the burger van .. oh wait that not them that's just me, i work in a village time in motion study says it takes me 6 hours but i can do it in 2.5hrs...shh don't tell the boss.
These people are underrated...with all the tax we pay...pay them more
Unsung HEROES
The government have never said thank you to the binmen/women for working through the lockdown's.
Let's see how many MP'S get a pay rise......when no one else is entitled.
Hows it a tough job push a plastic bin against cart press a button the days of past it was a metal bin and they had to throw it over there shoulder to empty it people have become soft sadly
They walk like 10miles a day you couldn't do it
Perhaps Eddie can buy some teeth if he gets a pay rise.
Wahahahaha
No tip for the bin men this Christmas.
Looks like they are getting on the band wagon
And want more money like the lorry driver's
About fooking time
@@DriverExtraordinaire-qn6gt they don't deserve it. They leave more on the floor
