    Tithe Rap Lyrics
    “The Best Way to Live”
    Dustin Serns
    LifeBridge Original
If you wanna know the best way to live
Jesus said it in His book that it’s more blessed to give (Acts 20:35)
God owns it all but He gives some to us (1 Chronicles 2 9:14)
So that we can learn to manage it well and build trust (Deuteronomy 8:18)
With Him to be our Lord and provide for our needs (Philippians 4:19)
To protect us, and bless us and make us all that we can be (Malachi 3:10-12)
God doesn’t need our money but He asks it from us (Psalm 50:12)
So that He can heal our hearts from selfishness, greed and lust (Matthew 6:21)
We want to manage money God’s way for His glory (Matthew 25:14-30)
So people everywhere can become part of His story (Acts 4:12)
Get out of debt, save some cash, spend less than you make (Proverbs 22:7, Proverbs 13:11, Proverbs 6:6-8)
God can help you get on track even if you’ve made mistakes (1 John 1:9)
The first 10% of our income is tithe (Leviticus 27:30)
It’s sent around the world so the mission can thrive (Matthew 28:19-20)
It funds pastors, teachers, missionaries, leaders for Christ (1 Corinthians 9:13-14)
So that people everywhere can accept His sacrifice (John 1:12)
We don’t give tithe, we actually return it
Cause it technically never belonged to us, and now we’ve learned it (Leviticus 27:30)
Tithe goes to the church just like the Bible says,
“Bring the whole tithe to the storehouse,” God keeps His promises (Malachi 3:8-12)
On top of tithe, there is another way to make an impact
God asks for offerings to show our love for Him in fact (Psalm 96:8)
We get to choose where we want them to go
God impresses us with needs for His ministry to grow (2 Corinthians 8:1-4)
If you are looking for a stellar place for offerings to start
Give to LifeBridge Ministry from love in your heart (2 Corinthians 9:7)
Your offerings are used to make a difference you can see
Changing lives and bringing wholeness to our community (1 Timothy 6:17-19)
Live with generosity, it’s not complex (Proverbs 11:24-25)
You can give online right now if you don’t like writing checks
    Go to lifebridgeway.com/give (www.lifebridgeway.com/give)
Click “Give Online Now” and start the best way to live (“Give Online Now”)
Or if you’re old school and you prefer the paper way
Drop a check in the mail and send it today (LifeBridge Church, P.O. Box 64207, Tacoma, WA 98464)
We want to express our sincere gratitude
We’re inspired by your self-sacrificial attitude
God is a giver, He gave His only Son
So that we could not perish and victory can be won (John 3:16)
We live to bless others like God has blessed us (Genesis 12:2-3)
So that they can know Jesus and give Him their trust (John 17:3)
Change the world, change a life, make a change that will stay (Luke 6:38)
Live with generosity, it’s the LifeBridge Way (Matthew 6:21)
Bridge someone to better life; it’s one click away (1 Timothy 6:17-19)
Don’t wait to make a difference; you can do it today

@@alfaandomega1 Thank you for feeling welcome here on this channel to share your opinion. Like the Apostle Paul, we are trying to use creative ways to share Bible truth in a way that connects with people from various cultures. Paul wasn't popular with everyone in how he shared in new ways with people from new cultures. Just because one person uses a cultural communication tool (like a certain genre of music) to share a negative message doesn't mean that that tool can't be used to share a positive message. Paul used a pagan altar made to an "unknown god" to communicate with the leaders in Athens about the True Creator. Paul encourages us to follow his example: "19 Though I am free and belong to no one, I have made myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible. 20 To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under the law), so as to win those under the law. 21 To those not having the law I became like one not having the law (though I am not free from God’s law but am under Christ’s law), so as to win those not having the law. 22 To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some. 23 I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings." 1 Corinthians 9:19-23. If you don't connect with this Bible message in the way it is presented, that's okay. We are glad you have found ways where you can connect with Bible truth. Perhaps there are others who will connect with this and appreciate it. We want to make it easy for people from all walks of life to hear, understand, appreciate and apply the Bible.
p.s. You might consider that the Bible teaches that the sanctuary is in heaven, not in church buildings on earth (Hebrews 8:5). Isn't it wonderful how Jesus is ministering on our behalf in the sanctuary and inviting us to share those blessings and benefits with others who have not claimed them yet! What a joy it is to bridge people to better life!

The Peril of Worldly Entertainments. --It is not safe for the Lord's workers to take part in worldly entertainments. Association with worldliness in musical lines is looked upon as harmless by some Sabbath keepers. But such ones are on dangerous ground. Thus Satan seeks to lead men and women astray, and thus he has gained control of souls. So smooth, so plausible is the working of the enemy that his wiles are not suspected, and many church members become lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God. --Manuscript 82, 1900.

Here are a few key points that everyone needs to understand, on the topic of tithing:
    (1) Levites receive tithes, and no one else. God Himself mandated this (see Numbers 18:21-22).
    (2) The tithe of Abraham to Melchizeded was a tithe of tradition, not religion, becasue there were no religious or legal requirement to tithe, as he did.
    (3) The tithe promised by Jacob was similarly one of tradition, not a religious observance
    (4) No gentile has ever been required to tithe in the Old testament. Only Jews. And only to Levites, because of Numbers 18:21-22.
    (5) No gentile has ever been asked to tithe in the New Testament, and certainly, not the church
    (6) Every mention to tithe in the New Testament was directed to Jews, as was required by the law of Moses, never to Gentiles
    (7) Gentile believers were never required to live by the law of Moses in the New Testament; this law is what mandated tithing.
Concerning giving, or tithing, or prosperity, Malachi 3:8-12 is not the full counsel of God. It is an excerpt, quoted to the church since the dark Ages as a deliberate misrepresentation of God's Word. There is even a date when this actually started. When we give, in the New testament, it is Jesus' promise in Luke 6:38 whereby we are blessed, instead of the act of tithing. Jesus said, "Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again." If you're interested in learning more, I have researched and written about this in "Tither, You Are Free!", which you can pick up on Amazon.
    Be blessed!

Thanks for watching and commenting. We can see you are passionate about this, so we do not intend to try to change your mind.
Your argument classifying pre-Israelite tithing as a "tithe of tradition" and then attaching tithe to the sacrificial system in the Law of Moses and declaring it abolished seems pretty arbitrary.
Could it be that Tithe has always been used to express humility and gratitude that everything belongs to God and we are just managers of what He has given (Psalm 24:1)? What if Tithe and Offerings are an invitation from God to invest in helping the world understand His true character? This was the point of the Israelite Temple system and is now the point of the church the "temple of God" (Ephesians 2:21). We we refer to the "church," we mean followers of Jesus living together on mission with Jesus. We recognize many religious organizations have not represented God have abused the tithing system. This is not a calling to throw out Bible truth, but to seek to more faithfully reflect the full picture of God's love and His purposes for the church and the world.

@@LifeBridgeWay Your argument classifying pre-Israelite tithing as a "tithe of tradition" and then attaching tithe to the sacrificial system in the Law of Moses and declaring it abolished seems pretty arbitrary.
 In the Bible, Numbers 18, the chapter is titled, “Duties of Priests and Levites”. Then it spells out what these duties are, including the fact that tithes should be paid to Levites. Only Levites. God Himself said this. None of this is arbitrary. It came from the very mouth of God, and was established under the law of Moses.
Could it be that Tithe has always been used to express humility and gratitude that everything belongs to God and we are just managers of what He has given (Psalm 24:1)?
 That was not why tithing was established. It was established to support the Levites because they received no inheritance. That is word-for-word, from God (Numbers 18:21-24).
What if Tithe and Offerings are an invitation from God to invest in helping the world understand His true character? This was the point of the Israelite Temple system and is now the point of the church the "temple of God" (Ephesians 2:21).
 Numbers 18:21-24 says it wasn’t. Tithes and offerings are two different things. Malachi 3 pronounces a curse upon those who do not tithe. Offerings are covered under Luke 6:38, “Give and it shall be given unto you.” There is no curse for not giving an offering. Again, two different things.
This is not a calling to throw out Bible truth, but to seek to more faithfully reflect the full picture of God's love and His purposes for the church and the world.
 Whenever we ignore the plain, explicit word of God, and apply our own intentions, we in fact throw out Bible truth. There is nothing in doing so that “faithfully reflect the full picture of God's love and His purposes for the church and the world.” We cannot “faithfully” serve God and also disobey His word. Tithing was never commanded by God for the church. The apostles never required it for the church. No Gentile has ever been required to tithe by God or His Word. Tithing was a con job, imposed by the Catholic church in the Dark Ages, and this con has lived on for almost 1500 years. Those are documented, historical facts, based on church history. I wrote about it in my book, Tither You Are Free. Brother, everything I have told you is documented and verifiable, backed up by history and God’s word. You can be free of the false doctrine of tithing if you want to, or you can choose t live under it. But please know that God has never required the church to tithe, nor does His word.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. The Bible calls us to tithe on our increase. In an agrarian society like Old Testament Israel or some parts of the world today, that would be reflected through giving 10% crops or livestock to support furthering the mission for people to learn about God. For our society today (and in much of the New Testament), that Tithe is reflected through money. Responding to God through returning Tithe doesn't take anything away from Jesus' sacrifice for us... it makes it more real to us and provides opportunities for others to experience it too.

For someone who has been listening to Christian rap music since it started , this is simply just wack. I'm sorry, but using the subject of tithes in a rap song is a bit too much. Tithing is to be understood Biblically and Historially. The who God has commanded to paying it, the when to give , the why its given and the who again to give it too. Teaching from Malachi is very popular in some churches, but they forget Malachi 4:4. Tithing has always been part of the Law of Moses, which the Church is not under.

Thanks for your perspective. Returning to God from what already belongs to Him and giving generously to bless people and share the Good News of Jesus through the church is a theme from the entire Bible (as shared in the rap), not just for the Israelite nation. I am thankful that regularly returning tithe and offerings helps protect us from greed and self-deception and empowers us to live for something much bigger than ourselves. Returning Tithe and Offerings has been an ongoing blessing to our family. I recommend that everyone should try it and see what God does. That's God's invitation (Mal. 3:10).

Have you ever heard the phrase, " Permitted, but not reqiured"? In other words, you can give your tithes and offerings , but as a freewill offering from the heart, purposefully and cheerfully. Not everyone can give tithes and offerings due to financial hardship. You said, " That's God's invitation. ( Mal. 3:10 ) . That's not an invitation, but a commandment to the Israelites. BUT, if you have given it purposefully and cheerfully from the heart in faith, then its perfectly okay.

I have had a conversation with a guy who was feeling guilty because he couldn't tithe without starving his family. The whole concept is wrong. The Jews gave 10% of their firstfruits and the new testament clearly states that Jesus is the firstfruits. If Christians build their spirit man then they will want to give generosity

@@markferguson6194 I'm sorry for your negative experience. Some emphasize tithe for the wrong reasons. However, we have seen that returning Tithe has a lot to do with faith. We have seen time and again God remain true to his promise to bless us as we are faithful in returning tithe and offerings. Sometimes God changes our outward circumstances, sometimes God changes our hearts and gives us the ability to let go of things we don't need and manage the resources He gives us. Returning tithe is a decision we make for whom we will trust to be our Provider: Us or God.

@@LifeBridgeWay hi. Thanks for your reply. Its incredibly difficult for people to accept change but the very word tithing should not be used by the new testament church. It's part of the feast of firstfruits and you give 10% of your corn, wine and oil to the Levites. There are no Levites around today to give tithes to and there are no scripturesin the bible that link tithes to money. The Jews don't even tithe. Note Jesus is the firstfruits of those risen from the dead so the feast is redundant. Correct Christian practice for giving is demonstrated in acts 2 and acts 4 and the Greek word for this is koinonia which is translated into English as fellowship, giving, offerings, communion and the engine room for this is agape love for one another and involves giving everything to help those in need. Giving was mostly for the purpose of meeting the needs of the people and not supporting a structure. The next move of God on planet earth is going to be a restoration of koinonia in the Church. Note that Communion was a love feast, they meet from house to house daily and shared. Imagine a Church living like this in total contrast to a world system of individualism, the accumulating of wealth and property by exploiting people etc. New testament giving is from a grateful heart not giving 10% out of compulsion or if u quote malachi "fear". Hope this isnt to heavy as this is all a massive change in the way Church operates and change is always been difficult to accept

@@markferguson6194 Thanks for sharing your perspective. We share the longing and goal of embodying the New Testament Church values of generosity, hospitality, selflessness, love and fellowship. It sounds like you have seen or experienced a church structure that does not support mission and meeting needs. That may be why you see such a distinction between the two. The Bible teaches the priesthood of all believers (1 Peter 2:9). Everyone is called to share the Good News about Jesus. For those who have a full-time ministry to share the Good News, the Apostle Paul teaches are worthy of support from the church, although they are not required to take this right. "13 Don’t you know that those who serve in the temple get their food from the temple, and that those who serve at the altar share in what is offered on the altar? 14 In the same way, the Lord has commanded that those who preach the gospel should receive their living from the gospel." 1 Corinthians 9:13-14. To be clear, the work of sharing the Good News of Jesus' salvation and His soon return will not be completed by paid pastors alone, but by all of God's faithful followers seeking to be filled with the Holy Spirit and sharing Jesus with those around them.

Actually, Tithe is 10% of our income, so if we don't make/have any money, there would be nothing to Tithe (10% of $0 = $0). God knows that through giving, selfishness will lose its hold on us and we will experience much more joy and purpose in life. That is why He tells us to do it and then backs it up with promising His provision and transformation in our lives. God is not trying to get something from us. He is trying to unlock a better life for us that we would not naturally gain for ourselves. We encourage everyone to try it out and see what God does. We have seen some amazing stories happen as a result! :)
