  • The country is preparing to mark the 45th anniversary of the June 16 uprising in Soweto. This year's theme is “The Year of Charlotte Mannya Maxeke: Growing Youth Employment for an Inclusive and Transformed Society”. South African youth face an unemployment crisis with millions without jobs. For more, Tumelo Mothotoane speaks to Boston City Campus CEO, Ari Katz. Courtesy #DStv403

You feel the pain of unemployment once you over 30, you look for a job until looking for a job becomes your job.

why dont we have a 2 year national service to upgrade infrastructure?- anyone on a grant that is not old or disabled in return for the grant and or more, they work to fix the disgraceful state of our nation - think of the millions of man-hours skills development and return for paying out hundreds of millions in grants each month- the solution is staring this idiotic government in the face

You media people don't really care about the youth in your ivory towers and penthouses telling us youth to better our job searching skills whilst y'all live in luxury we the youth of South Africa struggle to find employment even qualified. Do you even know how much registration fees is Boston city campus most youth can't afford to pay that tuition then it's still travelling expenses and so much other expenses the youth of this country know the struggle is REAL. The spirit of UBUNTU is no more these days people won't even give you the time of day for job interview 😒

Employers spoilt for choice, hence why they want to pay the least amount of money for the highest qualification possible. South Africa has a massive "cheap labour" problem, and this is not an issue from the employee side. The employer wants to pay the absolute minimum for each employee, often losing out on quality employees and skills purely so that they can pay everyone peaunts.
