I remember listening to them we use to call them the black cover girls! My and my friends when we was little we used to practice dancing like them on the video😂😂😂This was my jam!! I miss the 80s!
Teenage me couldn’t get enough of this song. I wonder how the group members are doing today. I now live in Virginia the DMV area and I know they are from DC.
Oh OMG! My friend Mom was a singer at one of the Hotels on the Las Vegas strip she use to play this song all the time and sing it to us wow ! Childhood memories! I love this song
I still jam to this song. I remember seeing them on some show singing it live, and they were jamming. Lots of hair, and crazy energy. They dont' make'em like this anymore.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this song STILL!!! I remember when I bought the album, just on the strength of this song and was in love with this group. These girls knew how to sing and dance. They don't have groups like this anymore!!
MAN, DIS IS SOOOO HOT! LOVE THE CHOREOGRAPHY AND CAMERA EFFECTS, BACKDROP SCENERY, ETC....THEIR ENERGY IN THE VIDEO IS CONTAGIOUS. ONLY WISH THE VIDEO QUALITY WAS HIGHER DEFINITION BUT, AWESOME WORK FOR 1980'S EQUIPMENT! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! "Romance" 2019
Dis the shi_ Wright here that I endeavor to recapture! Everything is on point - music production, vocals, choreography, energy, (even when the musicians do the cool little dance step together on the chorus "My Love Is Deep" excellent synchronization and execution (which I'm sure required extensive rehearsal, dedication and commitment}. Again, I have to say it -DIS IS HOT! "Romance" 2019
The Group is Called "LACE". The album this track comes from is called "SHADES OF LACE" 1. Since You Came Over Me 2. My Love Is Deep 3. Still in Love 4. Keep It Comin' 5. How Could It Be 6. Time Machine Back 2 Sophmore Year @ N.C.C.U.----When I Wore Out My Cassettes By LACE, Lushus Daim & The Pretty Vain, 5STAR, Ms. GRACE JONES, Nona Hendryx, Janet Jackson, ETC...What A Simpler Time!
Thank you for posting this awesome clean quality video. I've been searching for years on who created did song. 1987 has many rare r&b songs that's taken me time to find through the years. Please help. I have a tough rare jam from '87 that I can't place with similar synth bass sound but 'sounds' like Skyy's female lead singer singing words and I'll use some placeholders..."(Blah Blah Blah Blah Blee)...Knew You Were The One For Me....I treated you good". Unfortunately, searching lyrics databases doesnt turn up anything.
Funny, I was 9! I loved this video and bought the album and singles from it. Looking at it now, it's kind of odd to notice that the whole 'audience' in the video appears to be white!
*YES!* This is what sexy, not slooty, looks like. The retired strippers who call themselves "singers" or "rappers" today take note, this is what true beauty and talent looks like
This song STILL GROOVES! Music was so great back then.
LOVE THIS SONG!! 1987 was an amazing year for music.
DC's finest. This trio should have been far bigger back in the day. The deserve an episode on Unsung.

I wish their album was available on iTunes. I want the whole album! Can't find it anywhere. 😡
I saw it on Amazon for 20
It’s on Apple Music now and Spotify I’m sure
Hearing this, I'm glad I bought it in the 80s and still have it.

Nothing has changed in that regard
I was only 10 when this came out, but My little Mannish Ass knew I wanted to kiss on these grown Ass women!
I wonder what ever happened to them?!?!?
Marcus Rob Lisa Frazier released an album in 2011.
Check your local R&B nursing home. That would be a start
Nobody sings like that anymore.
Most of the female singers of today sound like little girls.
This was a good pop song.
