the only way you can improve is to just keep up the good work. never stop doing what you do. I love your videos and love to see the love you have for each other. it always improves my mood to watch you two.
The risotto is that yellow because it's made with saffron, ther's no chicken in it simply saffron. We call it 'risotto giallo' because of its strong yellow colour indeed.
Nice to see you appreciate. Just one note: throwing the cotton napkin on the dirty plate is really rude. I think it is considered rude even in other countries. If you have a paper napkin you can even trash it but if you have a paper napkin leave it on your legs when you eat and on the table when you leave. 😊👍💖
Really appreciate your videos! I'm going Interrailing next month and hitting 13 European cities. I like to pick out some places to eat ahead of time when planning trips so that I don't get frustrated and eat at some gross, overpriced tourist trap. Luini is going on my list!
You can put the napkin on a plate (not throw it as you did oops), but it is more acceptable if you leave it on the left side of your plate, with no dirty parts showing.
Arcana7609: Oh yes, it should have significance. Not only is it good manners (something woefully lacking in many these days) but correct table etiquette also because that signifies to the waiter/waitress that you have finished.
6.55 "tastes like chicken" moment.. Ooook, lol , i love you , but no... , no chicken in "risotto alla milanese " :) This is a Blasphemy :P Is make with midollo di bue ( beef marrow ? bone marrow ? i dont know english name ) , beef bouillon and saffron ( for yellow color )
I know it's a cultural difference but in Italy, croissants are not dessert, are ment for breakfast, you should try a slice of torta della casa to understand what's specific for a certain area or just go for a tiramisu, panna cotta or tartufo that you can find in almost every part of Italy. The italian cuisine is very different from place to place, you should try it in other places and other regions too in order to have an idea of how complex and delicious it is. I love your channel and I love the way you explain dishes to people using what you know and your experience in eating. Keep going on guys. Ciao and let's hope alla prossima in Italy, maybe I'll stumble on you. 😊
Hey I was born in Milan and I can explain the "hole thing". It's traditional for anyone walking through the Galleria to step on the bulls balls and spin once clockwise for good luck (anticlockwise if you want bad luck!) That thing with the napkin though... 🤔
Milanesi have this ancient habit of stomping/crushing the balls of that bull you've found in Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, they say it brings good luck and comes from an old rivalry with the city of Turin (toro=bull, Torino has a toro depicted in some old flags)
Hey this might be the best video yet guys--I know its a few months ago now but I just found it. Technically this one is superb, the camera shots, the music. My wife watched it with me and guess where she wants us to go come the spring. I'd love it too but I hear Italy in general is very expensive for basic things like coffee etc. Anyway well done and good luck in future adventures.
Wow thanks so much for the thoughtful comment :D Yeah that was a super fun day. Just watching it back makes us miss all the food there! I really hope you do end up visiting Italy. It can be a bit expensive but just stick to Appertivo for dinner and you'll be good 👌
I think you should do more than one video on Italy because Italian food is so regional northern Italian is different than central Italian food and don't even get me started on Southern Italian and the rest of Sicily which is like a different planet altogether
I am a fun from DC I love how raw your vedios are. For example, I like how both of your face shine like a brand new car at the end after testing all deferent foods and walking arround town. Good info hope you tips on getting cheep plain tikets including cheaper way to pay hotels. Shopping, where to shop for fashion in Milan, Paris, Belgium and more, Bu going inside the store. location of each food place, shopping, places in each country and city. love your videos. ciao.
When you went to Osteria del Binari did you have to make a reservation or could you show up and there was seating available? Thinking about going here for my trip😊
Enjoyed that video. Im going next year a little worried because im on a low carb diet seems like everything is carbs and I love them so im a lil worried. Can you guys do a video on like meat dishes low carbs. is there anything like that?
Apparentely, if you turn your heel three times in the bull's missing (0)(0) area, it's supposed to give you good luck/good fortune. Must be true coz Eric did it and now look at where you guys are at! Think I need to get myself to Milan and spin around that sucka too! 😂
Thank you for your interesting video. Just know that panzerotti are not a typical dish in Milan, as they are from Puglia. Luini is famous in town, but it's no more typical than sushi.
Did you guys find it easy to ride the bikes in Milano? Like enough bike lanes? Also how was the language barrier? I'm going to be living in Milano for 4 months starting in a lil over a week
Love your channel. If, no, when you go back to Milano go in winter. Italian cities are so much better then IMO. Best yet you can eat Cassoeula. With some kick butt red wine. Cheers
I think you tasted not properly pure Italian food but only versions for tourists so you should go in smaller cities to taste authentic food!!! I suggest you to come in Marche
1:01 Ya, that's a good luck rite very popular among Milanese and tourists alike: spinning their feet three times over the bull's testicles. The origin of it is quite funny: originally, it was a mockery to the city of Turin, Piedmont (whose coat of arms is precisely a rampant bull on a blue background), and that is due to the fact that Turin is often consider a sort of "archi nemesis" of Milan, being the second largest city of Northern Italy and atop their historic rivals. Another legend tells that the architect of the Galleria, Giuseppe Mengoni, died the day before its inauguration in 1877, by falling from the dome's scaffolders right on the bull, so people passing by always spin over his balls to chase away the evil spirits! 6:25 Also, there's a legend about that Milanese risotto with saffron, which is considered as the "main specialty" of Milan: according to the legend, during the construction of Milan's Cathedral, a worker accidentally poured some saffron (which in Medieval times was used to color the glass windows in yellow) into his rice ration, and eventually discovered it was really good...
Panzerotti has nothing to do with Milan... it's actually Apulia (south Italy) cuisine. I'm a guy from Apulia. I've lived in Milan for 5 years. i tried that panzerotti in Milan just onece because it was very expensive, small and it wasn't even good. Come to Apulia we have the best food in Italy!
Savino 92 io sono di Milano e sono d'accordo con te. Bene il risotto, ok, ma i veri panzerotti sono ben altra cosa! Molto meglio prendersi la pizza fritta di sorbillo, subito dietro a Luini.
I think that Luini isn't the best place to eat panzerotto. It was a good place once, but now it's quality has gone really bad. You should go instead to "il Panzerotto del Senatore" @Corso Buenos Aires, 10 OR to "SCIURA MARIA panzerotti" @viale Monza 256 which makes the best panzerotto in Milan. P.S. Panzerotto is a typical dish from Puglia! So it's always better to try it there. :)
we have panzarotti's in New Jersey. My favorite is John's Pizza in Brooklawn, Nj. There is also the "original Tarantini" panzarotti. They are good but not my favorite. I was kind of excited to see that they were really a food eaten in Italy. 😀
We hope you enjoyed this delicious day! If you'd like to see more food adventures around the world, make sure you subscribe ~~> bit.ly/1Nnl2kq We post new travel videos every Monday, Wednesday and Friday!

trauterNJ was fun?
I like how you guys keep it simple & refined, rather than screaming or jumping all over whenever you taste food:) I enjoyed the video, thanks!
Wow amazing! Hust what I need to plan for my culinary trip to Milan... thanks guys
I want to eat it all! 😋
I'm impressed by your skills at filming while riding, little blip aside 😂
Please, don´t drop the napkin on a plate like that, especially when the plate is still full of sauce...
That is received as rude and inconsiderate.
the only way you can improve is to just keep up the good work. never stop doing what you do. I love your videos and love to see the love you have for each other. it always improves my mood to watch you two.
Thanks so much! So happy our videos brighten your day 😄 that's why we do it!
the napkin thrown in the plate like that though...
+lakinella ✊️
if you wanna know the name of this food:
1)Panzerotto fritto
2)Cornetto al cioccolato/alla crema
3) risotto alla milanese,ravioli
Manca solo la cotoletta! 😅
Spinning on that place with the hill is good luck and means you’re coming back to milan:)
spinning around 4 times on the bulls balls is good luck
Glad I did it then!
The risotto is that yellow because it's made with saffron, ther's no chicken in it simply saffron. We call it 'risotto giallo' because of its strong yellow colour indeed.
superstitious bullshit????

Nice to see you appreciate.

LA MIA MILANO
You can put the napkin on a plate (not throw it as you did oops), but it is more acceptable if you leave it on the left side of your plate, with no dirty parts showing.
Giuro sono rimasto scioccato dalla scena, è una delle cose più maleducate che si possa fare ^^
anche io, ho imprecato tipo: ma che cazzo fai? ahahahahah xD questione di cultura
And not to place your knife and fork together when finished is poor dining etiquette also. Ah, how standards have slipped....
How you place your cutlery should have zero significance.
Arcana7609: Oh yes, it should have significance. Not only is it good manners (something woefully lacking in many these days) but correct table etiquette also because that signifies to the waiter/waitress that you have finished.
Great video. Simple and to the point of where and what to eat. Thank you!!
how could u think about throwing napkin on the dish???
Fan Delteam I know right. My mouth dropped when he did that, embarrassing. No table etiquette.
LOL, it is completely fine to Not obey such stupid rules, nothing bad gonna happen.
Dan Ccc typical Americans
@@ianbuchan1793 Typical comment about americans.
I am here 3 years after to be chocked with that. Disrespectful
Great videos guys, keep them coming please. x
6.55 "tastes like chicken" moment.. Ooook, lol , i love you , but no... , no chicken in "risotto alla milanese " :) This is a Blasphemy :P
Is make with midollo di bue ( beef marrow ? bone marrow ? i dont know english name ) , beef bouillon and saffron ( for yellow color )
Fair enough 😂 but I swear, you can have really high quality chicken noodle soup! At any rate, it was abdolutely delicious 👍 - Eric
The Endless Adventure maybe you feel the chicken because the stock used is of cappone or chicken
So why are you watching a video about food?
Evi1M4chine e

Hey I was born in Milan and I can explain the "hole thing". It's traditional for anyone walking through the Galleria to step on the bulls balls and spin once clockwise for good luck (anticlockwise if you want bad luck!) That thing with the napkin though... 🤔

Milanesi have this ancient habit of stomping/crushing the balls of that bull you've found in Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, they say it brings good luck and comes from an old rivalry with the city of Turin (toro=bull, Torino has a toro depicted in some old flags)
Ah, we were wondering! I actually didn't notice the bull until I started editing the video hah.
Also the Torinesi, not just the Milanesi.
@@ImissSaganCarl Ya, there's another bull like that in Turin (under the porticos of Piazza San Carlo), but I think that's just a superstitious rite
like the shot at 2:28 with McDonald at the background! :)

The bike ride was good
I was born in Milan and gotta tellya you should have tried the basic tomato mozzarella panzerotto, pure joy!
I think you should do more than one video on Italy because Italian food is so regional northern Italian is different than central Italian food and don't even get me started on Southern Italian and the rest of Sicily which is like a different planet altogether
Oh I think we definitely will! We have big plans to do a larger Italian trip...we have so much more to see (and eat!) there 😍
Very nice! because what's better than enjoying great tasting food from around the world

What happened, you guys bumped into each other riding the bikes? Lol Enjoy! I want to try all that food...
I actually hopped on one of the electric bikes and it was a bit more powerful than I thought it would be :o - Eric
When you went to Osteria del Binari did you have to make a reservation or could you show up and there was seating available? Thinking about going here for my trip😊
Eric, just interested, what is your obsession with warm food? You always use it as a positive descriptor even though its assumed its warm.
Good questions 😂 With a takeaway pastry like that, you never know if it's served warm!
I love your videos. I hope you weren't too sunburned...
Thanks so much!

I wish we could help you out, but we got them from a random street vendor in France :(
The Endless Adventure thank you great videos by the way
What is the name of desert you had at last?
Luini is the BEST I always go there
I'd really like to see you go to Sicily.
We will one day!
Milan tradition if you put your right heel on the bull’s balls and spin three times it will bring you good luck.
People are freaking out about the napkin on the plate. I don't know about other countries but in England, it is actually correct etiquette to do so.
Bunchy Bunch well England isn’t Italy so deal with it
Where's Alison's bag from? It looks awesome 😊
(The new one that she spilled chocolate on)
It's from this company: www.zede-paris.com/en/
The Endless Adventure thank you, their bags look amazing, I really want to get one 😊

Agree. You don’t place a cloth napkin right on the dirty plate. Some poor laundry person will have to get the stains out.
I see you reppin the peak design capture clip. What do you think of it I love mine
