I dealt with a narcissist last year who completely broke down my sense of identity and convinced me I was a bad person by getting me to react & exposing the worst parts of myself…and he, unknowingly to me, humiliated me in front of the whole school. I’ve been healing, but listening to this song has rlly helped me cope. And also not question too much if I’m good or bad; I’ve learnt the art of radical acceptance. My favorite line in this song: “we stepped into a mirrored world that mirrored all our crimes”
if we compare the instrumental of this song to the instrumental of other songs on electra heart, we can see why this one was scrapped. it’s too weak and not so electric like the others, but the lyrics are just perfect.
Listened to this in 2012 on a burned cd I made driving around being young and free and in love. 11 years later it hits so good!
