    I had the chance to work with a pair of these guys once, one of them LOVED crawling in my lap and letting me pet him and let me tell you that is both terrifying and amazingly fulfilling.

    • @theslayergaming6756
      @theslayergaming6756 Рік тому +45

      So how did you pet it without getting pricked and also how’d it climb in your lap without pricking you and must’ve been scary like if it suddenly gets agitated startled or annoyed and aggressive at u u could get spikes right to the face or eyes

    • @FlareDarkStormGem
      @FlareDarkStormGem Рік тому +163

      @Theslayer Gaming The quills all point towards the back end of the porcupine, so you can pet it in that direction without getting stabbed, same with it crawling in my lap, if it moved forwards it wouldn't prick me, but if it had decided to move backwards it would've torn me up a little, their quills are very smooth when you pet them properly! But it was definitely nerve-wracking because the animal absolutely could have hurt me very badly if it wanted to, it took a good deal of trust between both of us.

    I love these! I used to visit a small zoo with one many years ago and feed him apples, he never was at all aggressive. I made sure to stay in front of him though 😄

      How? how is it possible for you to struggle with that when 580 million people live with breeds of porcupine that do shoot their quills?

    I wonder if somehow they are ever victims of their own weapon.
