@@rickstechrepairs Hey so I just broke screen. Not the Lcd but the digitiser (the glass) Is it easier to place that? Also where can I get good replacement parts? I just don't wanna pay over $150 to fix it.
Fantastic video, very straight forward and great commentary. Fixed my s8 and a few iPhones a while back but this has given me the confidence to upcycle my dead 52. I’ll chuck an update comment after I’m done
Thanks so much Rick, didn't have any adhesive at all but managed to hold it together with the case. Also lost my speaker grill but no big deal. Also is there a name for that tool tool you used to remove the side, I tried an aluminium can but it just bent & I ended up using a razor.
Awesome video, helped out a lot but I messed up when I got to taking the plastic frame off after removing the screws, accidentally held down the power button now that phones turned off after I let it run out of charge and recharged it. Do you know anyway to force shutdown the phone or if its safe to remove the battery connectors whiles its on? edit: screen is cracked and not working so I can't turn it off using the on screen buttons.

@@rickstechrepairs finally all done, glue took ages to arrive from china. i put a fair amount of glue on but i dont think it stuck in all places, i can see a bit of the circuit board at the bottom. ah well. ill see how the daughter goes with it over the next month or two, if it pops off i can always put more glue on it

if the screen is damaged i typically open it up to disconnect the power button

i think they are fairly universal
What difference is there in installing one that has the frame with the replacement screen? Just bought one and wanting to install it. Cheers
Usually with the frame the finish product is a better quality
