Haha, I would have stopped, but you gave the "friendly" wave and not the "stop im in trouble" wave! Fun to watch... again!
hahahah I blame you Nerb as I just followed.
It's been pretty fun to watch this adventure from all these different perspectives.
As someone who rides in such a small country as Costa Rica is, its insane to even try to imagine such distances, especially off road, really enjoying the new series Tom, all the best from pretty rainy Costa Rica... Pura Vida!!
Good to see Tom is getting less camera shy. I did the Simpson when I was younger just after they tried the first time. I remember being so happy when I found one of their Super Adventure Squadron stickers on a fuel bowser somewhere. It's so cool to see all the places we went to again and relive some of the memories.
Hey Tom, just wanted to say that binge watching your content is making COVID bearable and thanks!
Don't feel bad Tom, I don't know who Shadower is. Only heard of him from you.
Tom, how did the WR250R compare to the KTM 690 going across the SD
I. Need. To. Know. !
Well, it made it, so that's a point for the WR.
Sudzaboy lighter is better. Wonder if a 350exc would make it.
Ktm are just unreliable bikes they are good just not for long distance
I sheared 3 rotopax bolts on 3 separate rides as soon as it got bumpy. They sent me new bolts/mounts but I just got sick of it and sold mine. Never again.
WOW.. thats not awesome. Is it something you can repair with a new bolt from bunnings?
@@atlas_au unfortunately no. Its integral to their mounting hardware. Perhaps with a bit of welding, but its honestly just not worth it.
wish i had mates I could go on these types of adventures with but no one else I know rides
Advx and rideadv do these kind of rides every year, you can join solo and make friends on the way!
@@RidingWithTom will have to look them up cheers for that. Im from Adelaide so I am not sure where they are from
@@macnuggets2974 join up on South Australian Adventure Bike Rider's Facebook Group. No trips like this presently but some of us are trying to improve our sand skills enough to have a go. I've done this multiple times in a 4wd and want to try on a bike.
Change the people you know?
@@paullangford8179 honestly not a bad idea
Nerb1 starting the KTM with the engine he'd just replaced... No pressure! Really enjoying the three-perspectives on this ride. You and Brendan would get out ahead of everyone and then show back up on video at camp and fuel stops. Nice to catch up on what you two were experiencing. Holding on for Part 4!
Good seeing all versions so far.
Great to see the trip from different perspectives!
Great stuff....it's been great watching all the different films of the same ride!...those WR's have done you proud. Cheers, Steve
Good to see different creators videos of the same ride. Thanks for sharing
I'm living vicariously through your videos until i get a new bike.
Excellent gattica reference there
I had a wr250r and it as well overheated easily. I highly recommend putting a mylers radiator and trail tech fan on it. Best purchase I ever made or that bike.
I’ve never come close to overheating it
Read somewhere in the past that the bolt needs to be upgraded to a high tensile or a higher grade, high tensile bolt
Did you lose the chair?
Also, nice Gattaca reference.
I was going to post the same on the gattaca reference. 👍
Very cool ride, keep on trucking, you've got a great group together!
Great video been watching Neb and Shadower 75 fills in missed bits
Wow! How awesome is that! Great job!
My Rotopax started leaking the 2nd time I filled it up in Kazakhstan. Had to throw it out.
My WR over temp light comes on if I do high speeds with 91 octane fuel, with 95 or 98 no issues.
Got to change the timing: 91 burns slower, so you have to advance the ignition. Otherwise exhaust temperature goes up.
@@paullangford8179 or just run the 98 because thats what makes bikes run nice.
Finally Tom, I've watched everyone else's already.
Cheers for another great video Tom!
Nice... was wondering where that other track went.
I was there a month ago broken down in odnadatta with a bent diff housing
Thanks mate great fun
I can’t believe how quickly you guys are bringing out the videos.
What kind of mileage did the loaded 250 return at 115 ???
im still rolling around on the floor laughing from him taping over the 'check engine light'. When running heavy trucks on dirt, we noticed 2 things.............firstly, fuel consumption goes up 20% and secondly...........everything runs hotter..........engines,diffs and gearboxes. If you are running full speed on dirt..........you are using noticeably more power than on bitumen. Another well known trucking fact............90km/hr uses 20% less fuel than 100 km/hr.
you should get the new tenere with the electronic suspension
Nice one Thomas 👍
Hahaha, yall look like the bad guys in the Road Warrior movies!
It’s the equivalent of $225 a litre at the cheapest station here in Ireland
Air filter is probably clagged running rich choke on permanently
They probably didn't calculate for a can 3 times larger beeing strapped to the thing.
That beeing said, you could probably buy some high grade (12.9) bolts
Both the rotopax and jerry can were completely empty, zero weight
@@RidingWithTom Well. Then this is definitely not excusable.
At least you were carrying straps
Awesome Tom, those wrs are doing great! Do you have a gpx track of the route you guys did?
Your a good rider.
What tail rack do you have on yours it looks like it has held up well?
Custom made rack, it’s based on the scaggs but much thicker
Is this the outback? Crazy how flat it is out here. How much farther do you to have to go to make it to the town of never never? I want a 79 series land cruiser pickup so bad but we can’t get the, here in the USA...
Overheating because the mechanical thermostat failed ??
Love the vids by the way!...
Shoulda used ocky straps! Lots and lots of them.
Are you going to test ride or buy the tenere 700 to replace the wr??
I’ll defs be testing it!
You are the master at bait. :)
11:00 6 till 3 is 9 hours lol not 7.
Awesome 👍🏻
Did you change your safari 14L to the IMS 18L? How do those 2 compare?
Awesome video Tom.👍👍
Have you done anything to the suspension? I’m really considering this bike but suspension work can be really pricy.
I have tekniks suspension, it’s good
Awesome
Hi mate.. just wondering why u use the 250 instead of the wr450? The 450 can be made road legal cant it? & the extra power etc wuld be better? Cheers
450 is road legal. But it would suck in every way for an adventure like this
Would it? Why is that? Genuine question mate.. im thinkin of getting one, Cheers
Is there a pool noodle store in the desert?
Haha yeah there’s literally like 50 pool noodles next to the hot spring
~$6.37 usd per gallon.
17:30 its actually just the boys
really wish Yamaha actually sold the WR250R in Scandinavia... :|
well it wont end up like the 690 i hope
Not so much the bike falling apart as the accessories. lol
You guys are riding on the wrong side of the road lol
What year is this??
"i saw something come off" - Facepalm
Bit unfair to blame the rotopax when you have another 10L jerry strapped to it.
They were both empty...
@@RidingWithTom fair enough then. Forgot to say, really enjoying the channel. Keep up the great work Tom
I think you (at least most of you) will make it... your upload is a mit to slow ;D
I can see a 450 is too much for you
its not pink its sun faded red lol
For lovely profanity go to 7:37 of the video 😂
Lol when is coward springs ever warm
When the air temperature is 3 degrees haha
Sup gents
get a bmw 310 cheap
First
Second
Sellup bud and buy a honda
Last thing I was expecting was a Gattaca reference
3:31 Still cheaper than gas in my country :(
