This comment section is so ridiculous and ignorant. It's not a rule to drink espresso pure. In fact, espresso is the base for a lot of different coffee drinks/recipes. What he made was an Americano which is officially an espresso with added hot water. Other well known espresso drinks would be cappuccino & latte macchiato. One of the beauties of coffee is that there is a huge amount of variation! And everyone can drink their coffee the way he/she likes it the most and trying out new things is also super interesting. I do it all the time. There's literally no end to possible ways of enjoying coffee. And every recipe leads to a different experience. There's not one right coffee experience. Coffee is known and loved around the whole world and different countries have different ways of drinking coffee, and that's great! And if Italians get offended by what he did, as everyone here is saying, well that's their problem... sure, espresso was invented in Italy... but coffee doesn't belong to them. I like their coffee culture and the coffee you drink in Italy is amazing, I know that. But without the 50+ countries where coffee grows and all their farmers, no one would ever have any coffee at all. Italy imports their coffee exactly as most countries do so. And espresso is just one out of dozens of brewing methods around the world and everyone is free to explore different recipes from different brewing methods. People that are saying "he destroyed an espresso" are simply ignorant and think they know it all better. And I'm not sure how far you even thought... but I hope you know that basically 98% of a cup of coffee is water. Brewing coffee is literally extracting coffee aroma into water. Water is a HUGE part of coffee. So the comparisons you're all making are complete non sense. An espresso which is literally brewed with water is not destroyed by adding more water. It leads to another experience and may change the taste, sure, but that‘s not a bad thing. It‘s just a different thing.
The title is not "how to make an Italian espresso". He was just making a cup of coffee he loves. The expression of disappointment is fine, but accusing him of ruining an espresso is inappropriate.
Yeah man, there's a lot of ways of using a horse too. You can ride it either forwards or backwards, sitting on it on the manner you want.BUT!!!His dick always will be between his legs, you can't just put him between his ears and pointing to whatever you want, right? So, remember, when the italians speak about espresso, the rest of the world just stay quiet.....
A few tips… When you roast green coffee beans it’s best to use a drum roaster to allow you to use convection currents to really extract the essential oils out from your coffee beans. I’ve personally found that for espresso based drinks a medium to medium-dark roast profile produces the best taste in your cup. Of course, this depends on whether you’re using Arabica beans or Robusta beans. If you’re a person who loves coffee flavor then stick to the Arabica, but if you’re a person who is looking for that good caffeinated kick then go for the Robusta. Experiment with as many origins as you can and you’ll find the right one for your palate. The second tip, always allow at least a 24 hour repose period after you have roasted your coffee. This ensures that the essential oils of your fresh roasted coffee surfaces. Trust me, you will notice the difference in taste. Coffee will begin to deteriorate its freshness in these essential oils as soon as it roasted. The slow evaporation of these essential oils will peak out anywhere between two weeks to a month or so, faster in hot arid environments and a bit slower in cooler environments. Last tip, tip number three, preheat your water to 200 degrees Fahrenheit. By the time you pump your first espresso shot that water would have cooled to the sweet spot of anywhere around or near 170 degrees Fahrenheit. Water that has been boiled too hot will scald your coffee and reduce the essential oils (the essential oils is your flavor), and too cool will produce you a good tasting average cup of coffee. If you’re doing your techniques correctly you should get more Corona on your espresso shots! This is the crema of your espresso shot, and where the delicious flavor is at 😋 Enjoy! Thanks for sharing your video 🙂 Yes, I’m a Master Roaster and coffee connoisseur 😊
Robusta is much more than just "caffeine kick". I'm maybe not a "master roaster and coffee connoisseur" but I do know that there are some really serious Robusta farms and roasters and the prove that Robusta is by no means worse than Arabica, just different. Body, texture, and tons of chocolate and nut flavours. Maybe you should give some good single origin Robusta a try, you could learn something new.
Not only Italian also Portuguese people. Is the most stupid thing I saw in my life. Putting water in a perfect expresso. Really disappointed to see. In the end I ask my self why the fuck he make the video about one expresso machine if in the end he destroyed all. Was better he putt the coffee in the garbage.
That's for a reason. Instant coffee makers, and espresso makers, were actually invented and improved in Italy by Italians. Espresso is 30 milliliters, "restricted" coffee is a bit less and "long" coffee is something more (like 40 millimeter, not like half a liter). Roasting, pressing and grinding and using a strange machine for making the perfect espresso, then adding water, is totally unacceptable if you want to still call it "espresso". P.s. Even the coffee grinder that he use at minute 5 is an Italian product, look at the writing on the left "Mazzeri Luigi S.r.l." 😎
Tips: Add rigidity to the machine by using the screw/bolt that comes with it to fasten the handle mechanism to the base. I use the filter with the bigger openings at the top, smaller under. Also, hot water from the pre-heat into my cup/shot-glass to preheat the cup while i'm prepping the rest of it. Right before you pull the shot, empty the cup. I also assemble on the flair instead of moving it with the hot water, less chance to have a mess.
@@nizhu4499 Not sure if it is legitimate or not, but I picture it like having a funnel, it allows a wider area to be forced into a narrower cone and through the hole, creating more pressure. Hope that makes sense.

I love the dedication this man has put in just to make a coffee.
Muito trabalho p/ tomar um café. Deve ser muito bom. Deu vontade de experimentar.
Pasta machine is still machine but with no power. I'd assume this one is called a machine too!
sure...even a knife is called a simple machine.
Well, machines does not necessarily need electrical power to use them. So yeah, it's a legit coffee machine.
The comment section makes me realize that espresso has become a cult.
Bunch of pretentious coffee snobs. They think everyone must drink coffee thier way.
@@ehaitem dude it's not snobbery. I drink Americano. But I get it for 65-70 cents a cup, I don't freaking roast and grind my own beans. What's the point of doing it all yourself if you're going to water it down?
ehaitem I am a coffee person and never say that. Don’t generalize! Same kind of thing with wine; no one complains.
@@ChucksSEADnDEAD Italian coffee is a hype, people invest in expensive machine. The espresso roast is very dark and ruin the coffee taste already. People put milk in the drink and no one complain but this asian dude put water in it and people went crazy. Fortunately specialty coffee is on the rise and hopefully destroys the Italian dominant hype.
@@bonedface Correct, people do put milk on their coffee. I've never seen anyone buy the equipment to roast beans and hand press the coffee themselves before adding the milk, though.
It's like going through all the trouble of rebuilding a 1967 Mustang and then doing a LPG conversion. It's your freedom to do it but don't get surprised at people groaning and bitching about it.
I get reasonably priced pre-ground coffee bags from a local store and use a 15 dollar Moka pot. Is anyone gonna bitch at me for doing the LPG conversion on a 1994 Ford Fiesta? No.
Crazy boy, greeting from Italy :D
i can see myself slipping and launching a whole glass of espresso at the wall
A few tips…
When you roast green coffee beans it’s best to use a drum roaster to allow you to use convection currents to really extract the essential oils out from your coffee beans.
This is the crema of your espresso shot, and where the delicious flavor is at 😋
Enjoy! Thanks for sharing your video 🙂
Yes, I’m a Master Roaster and coffee connoisseur 😊
Robusta is much more than just "caffeine kick". I'm maybe not a "master roaster and coffee connoisseur" but I do know that there are some really serious Robusta farms and roasters and the prove that Robusta is by no means worse than Arabica, just different. Body, texture, and tons of chocolate and nut flavours. Maybe you should give some good single origin Robusta a try, you could learn something new.

All the italians freaking out about adding water
The world (ex America probably) is crying with Italy
@@ronf28 don't go Brasil and tell that.
Is there a reason to use the filter with the bigger openings at the top?
@@nizhu4499 Not sure if it is legitimate or not, but I picture it like having a funnel, it allows a wider area to be forced into a narrower cone and through the hole, creating more pressure. Hope that makes sense.
