I’m tired of this. I want to come home from whatever I am doing and play with my friends. But this game isn’t a casual game anymore. Without following a meta, being ratty and sweaty and grinding, this game is *SO* unfun. It is also so bad with the gameplay. Heck, even with a meta and sweat this game is SO UNPLAYABLE. The promos are so bad with the pack weight. The only way to pack someone good is to send your income and life savings to buy promo packs. AND SOME OF US CANT DO THAT!! Biggest issue that I have is the pressing is so overpowered, aggressive play and spamming tackles are getting rewarded… It feels like MMA for 90 minutes long on the pitch
There many issues but this is one of the main issues, I totally agree. Relentless pressing coupled with what feels like 0 stamina loss for doing so. If you do beat the press, it doesn’t matter since the defensive team recovers instantly and can read everything you’re going to do.

Many impossible tackles from behind in the box, ai tackling for you, defenders being beaten with good play/skills but then instantly recovering, turning and recovering instantly and tackling you anyway. It’s just b.s. especially when your attackers make the worst attacking runs, not making themselves an option for a pass, standing behind defensive player’s. It’s just a terrible game.
Don't have no issue with there being a competitive mode specifically for the better players. Not everything is for everybody. But I do agree, menus are shit and so is the game
Casual player here. I don’t play FUT Champs or rivals anymore, the rewards don’t match the grind for me. I have to do more work for less rewards no thank you. Honestly, it feels I’m just collecting cards. Also, they reduce squad battles games, why? There is about 20 promo packs in the store and I’ll not spend a dime.
Same here. I’ve been playing FIFA since it started, and Rivals since it started. Used to snatch a few games here and there during a working week. Win a few lose a few, get some half decent rewards and want to repeat week after week….now it’s lose every game as whatever formation you choose the servers are against you…if you lucky you can scrap 15 points to get the 1st stage…ive not played it all for a week, and plan on keeping it that way. They have ruined the beautiful game.
I agree, absolutely nothing feels rewarding anymore , shit seasons, rivals isn't worth it when you get dog trash packs, my players cant get up after a tackle. The only thing decent is the coins you get.
Agree with you. I have pretty much stopped even trying for FUT champs... was really enjoying RUSH at the start, but too many AFKs now I am getting very bored of that... FC 24 I probably played at least 2 games every day. I actual just didn't play this weekend.. and considering that's supposed to be when the majority play that says alot for the game.

As a consistent, casual FIFA player ever since 2014 I normally wait for the game to go on sale before buying it. Seeing all the gameplay and general problems with this game is honestly just sad, it's the first time I've ever had no desire whatsoever to play the game. Don't give any money ever again to EA, you will get the game for free if you're on PS+ in May 2025. If you ask me, I wouldn't play FC25 even for free. Why ? Because I played FC24 for free this May and it's enough to see how the franchise is not getting better. As long as you keep giving EA free money, they wouldn't change. I have been playing fifa since fifa08 and daily since fifa 15. I have never stopped playing before OCTOBER. After 1 month! The earliest was fifa21 and that was January because of Study etc. even EAFC24 the second worst game after 25 I played till June.
Matt your are completely wrong about getting fodder , there is like 19 different packs in the store, I think it only totals around £700 to open them all , it’s dead easy , remortgage the house , get a personal loan and you can get Mbappe! The "the game got too serious" angle should be talked about way more. Now it's just about meta and store packs. EA shouldn't made FUT the e-sports mode - Pro Clubs would be way better for this. FUT was way better in Fifa 12, 13, 14, where you would see people playing with silver players. That said: Early Access for UFL starts tomorrow - full release is next week.
There are simply too many animations for the game to handle. We just want simple gameplay where the passing actually works. Its the first year I genuinely struggle to stream gameplay

My players have such a slow movements, I tap shoot and the player waits 3 seconds and then shoots, 99% of long passes are intercepted, you can't even touch their players because referees are always on their side and are playing foul for them. It is so bad, you can't even play it because whatever you do, the players don't respond, or are just too slow and of course you lose the ball every time...
They will never change this my friend. The scripting is so embedded in the game its what gives them cash. They dont give a f*** about us or the game they made.

I played a game today and lost 7-1. I was so close to messaging my opponent to rematch as I felt every goal was gifted to him and I there was nothing I could do about it. Luckily I matched him a few games later and I was winning 5-0 within the first 30mins and could have gotten to double digits if he didn’t rage quit. I honestly think the game predetermines a winner and will do everything in its power to make such they win.

The point of playing fifa was to relax and forget about life problems, last 2 years fifa became the life problem, it just makes you sad when you play this abomination of a game.
I mainly play career mode and even that is broken and keeps crashing, glitches in menus, ultimate team, always seems to glitch the sqaud screen so I cant even view my team properly. Entire game is shocking really.
I literally play the game and narrate to myself probably 30 times a game “There is nothing I can do” It’s just RNG. Absolutely no point in manual defending cos you won’t win the ball it’ll ping back to them.
Happy to see the big content creators finally speaking up about how poor the game is. This is what career mode players have been saying for years tho. Casual FUT players also have mentioned it. Its finally affecting the top and now we get the complaints. Again glad folks are saying something but the years of ignoring it becasue it wasn't affecting streamers and all the coin selling is why FUT is the only mode that gets any attention and why it so bad right now. Hopefully next year more folks don't pre-order and wait for the price drop like i do every year now since Fifa 22. The game is delayed offline too. Player touches turns passing all delayed. The ball has weird physics. It's as if it's a rock being thrown to the destination it's meant to go, and just lands there waiting. The AI is just dumb

Having the best connection is the biggest advantage in FUTChamps, you will never master the gamep play b/c of the random BS that happens. I have 4 pings and i can't even do a ball roll in champs with out a delay.

Gameplay is horrendous. Casuals have left, and fodder is nonexistent. Yet every decent SBC wants at least nine squads. We need the remaining player base to stand together and stop buying packs; it's the only way things will ever change, but it's not going to happen.

I'm a bit disappointed in these UA-cam content creators. They are all saying the gameplay is bad, which it actually is but not addressing the issues that make the gameplay bad. I'll do my best to list out a few. Defending: For some weird reason, when the cursor is on your defender and trying to defend, the AI tries to run towards the attacker when you're trying to get in between the attacker and the goal post; instead the defender runs towards the attacker and the attacker obviously out runs the defender and scores. Lobbed through pass: When you're attacking and you do a lobbed through pass to your winger, many times the ball goes towards the goal, which isn't your intention because that would actually meet a defender and you'd lose your attack. Why the ball can't just go straight beyond the winger is beyond me. Passes in front of goal: When you're attacking and working up to score a goal and you try to pass the ball to the best person in front of goal, the game automatically selects the wrong person everytime. Why? I don't know. But it's programmed that way for some reason. I think it just tries to select the person with the closest proximity to the goal, which, most of the time isn't the best person to score and of course that messes up your chance to score. Cursor change: pls don't get me started with this. This is but to mention a few. So saying I conceded goals and it was no fault of mine doesn't really explain anything. Thanks
I stopped playing this game three weeks ago after years of hoping EA would improve, yet get it constantly thrown back in my face. Been playing FUT since FIFA 13. Just can’t do it anymore, there’s no longer any FOMO for this game. We need competition so EA finally wake up.

I still have no idea why people play this online, especially spending money on it packs etc. way too much, is out of your control no matter how good you are. Technical issues aside, you never know when your keeper will do something silly, your defender takes a bad touch. Not much of a win or loss will be anything to do with skill. Career mode is the only reason I get the game, even that has its issues.
I’ve given up on champs, and barely do rivals now they lowered the points required. Gameplay is soo sluggish, glitchy and unresponsive that it essentially is only a team building/card collecting game for me now.
I stopped playing when it basically just refused to save my tactics correctly. Every time I load up my save it bugs my tactics and I have to fix them before playing a match, which is a nightmare because of the awful UI they instituted.
Big up Matt, been a regular watcher of your channel back in the day. This is the first FIFA/FC game I haven’t bought cause last year was enough for me. I found that last year the game play was awful and the way EA have made it so apparent that the way to get the best is if you spend ££££. Back in the day you’d still be competitive if you did a road to glory style but now it seems unless you spend you are massively behind the curve

I’m certainly a casual player. Life doesn’t allow me the time to play 20 games of rivals and most certainly not champs now as I’m very average at the game. Previous games have still been fun, played the odd champs etc, built a good team, completed a lot of sbcs. It’s not possible to that in this game. I’m a Pes player at heart based on age. Gameplay was a lot of fun back in the day. Football gaming desperately needs an alternative and ea may be unintentionally making room for one.

A million issues on this game, but I think the biggest in my opinion has to be the reliance on abusing broken in game tactics to succeed. I was lucky enough to pack Vini last week when he was 1.4 million coins and was so pumped to use him. But unless I’m annoyingly holding lb/L1 until someone presses and then just speed boosting around them, there’s hardly any difference between him and my Rashford evo that cost like 50k. Every champs game is either people speed boosting and shot canceling, or running straight down the line and passing in the box from the baseline. I really enjoy trading and have 3 million in the account right now and see no reason to upgrade anything since I’m just trying to play tiki taka. Decided I’m just going to do a Madrid past and present with Benz and Ronaldo up top to make it feel like it is Fifa 17 again.

How come no one talks about how the menus freeze when you do literally anything? You try to search your club for players in the middle of an SBC, it freezes for 3 minutes.
FC transfer market is getting messy. I spent lots of money to get some icon players, but after just one week, my icon players change as toilet paper. Fuckin too many promo and events are making horrible transfer market situation
Absolutely great video. This summed it all up for me. I was doing my usual insane grind. Every objective. Every game mode. Every SBC. The FOMO was real. My LAN port on PS5 broke (and the game can't be played on WiFi obv) so I sent it off to get fixed. While waiting I downloaded BO6 as free on Xbox. Haven't played since BO2. It's great. It's really enjoyable and when I get in a tough lobby, I feel like I'm only losing because the other players are better. Even when I forget to plug in the LAN cable I usually don't notice the difference. PS5 came back. Put loan Mbappe and Rodman in my NWSL/Real/Serie A team and played 2 games. Both were awful won the second game 6-1 and hated every minute. Turned it off. Went back to BO6. And I now only play clubs and that's more for the social aspect. The game is trash and we just accept it. Other AAA. Titles show that smooth, consistent, fair gameplay is achievable and we shouldn't accept anything else. Even when I didn't play the game I used to do a lot of menu grinding. I've now run out of fodder so I'm gone until the 84x10 repeatable surfaces
Started to play in fifa 18 and till fifa 22 it always got better but since fifa 23 and especially since last year it is going down hill in a very fast tempo. And the fact that the only thing they can do right is bringing out loads of new store packs (even tho they also make many mistakes with this for example the hero pack wich said you were guaranteed an icon) makes me really mad i just want the fun game it used to be back
To be honest, I hope that UFL will make EA look into the mirror and scratch their backs so bad. Because they need to indeed make a huge change in the game and add more things that will get everyone excited. Lets say for example: Co-op Weekend league, where you and a friend of yours can play the game together and get rewards together with maybe a way that you can both combine your teams and play with the best of each others Ultimate team. And just simple the option to play 2v2 with friends without having to crack a difficult code and just normally invite the ones you want to play against. And for sure I would like to see more tournaments stuff inside Ultimate Team with the theme of the real life football events like the Champions League. EA has the licenses right correct me if I'm wrong but it would be fun to actually play a Champions League theme game mode inside or outside Ultimate team to get packs, coins, and maybe special cards: UCL,UEL, and Conference League. Online career mode: Just like the mobile app OSM where you can invite each other in 1 or more competitions and just play against each other. But then that you can actually play the game if you want and control your players like you have now in career mode obviously. But with the option to sim if you should schedule a match against a friend of yours for example. so if lets say 1 of you guys is Liverpool and the other is Man Utd and 1 cannot play at the date that your match is scheduled the games gets automatically simmed. But if you were both down to play against each other. You just play vs each other like a normal match. And maybe for the ones without friends that you have the ability to join other career modes from people around the world. And of course just realistic fun and simple good gameplay. With more details to the players especially the players in the spotlights like Icons, heroes, and big stars that are still playing in real life to take it to the maximum level of making them unique as possible. Just like E football is doing with bringing out cards like Lionel Messi '09 that looks exactly like how he looked in 2009. I think if EA would do that as well it would be a lot more fun to play with certain types of cards especially flashbacks cards or other promos where you see that on the cards itself for example Mbappe his TOTY Card where he had blue hair that you will see him play with blue hair if you have his TOTY and if you have the normal one just his normal color hair so that the card is made special in a different kind of way then they are doing now already. I don't know about you guys but in my opinion this would make the game way more fun to me. Ps sorry for the long bible text😂

Casual player here. I don’t play FUT Champs or rivals anymore, the rewards don’t match the grind for me. I have to do more work for less rewards no thank you. Honestly, it feels I’m just collecting cards. Also, they reduce squad battles games, why? There is about 20 promo packs in the store and I’ll not spend a dime.

Same here. I’ve been playing FIFA since it started, and Rivals since it started. Used to snatch a few games here and there during a working week. Win a few lose a few, get some half decent rewards and want to repeat week after week….now it’s lose every game as whatever formation you choose the servers are against you…if you lucky you can scrap 15 points to get the 1st stage…ive not played it all for a week, and plan on keeping it that way. They have ruined the beautiful game.

My players have such a slow movements, I tap shoot and the player waits 3 seconds and then shoots, 99% of long passes are intercepted, you can't even touch their players because referees are always on their side and are playing foul for them. It is so bad, you can't even play it because whatever you do, the players don't respond, or are just too slow and of course you lose the ball every time...

I played a game today and lost 7-1. I was so close to messaging my opponent to rematch as I felt every goal was gifted to him and I there was nothing I could do about it. Luckily I matched him a few games later and I was winning 5-0 within the first 30mins and could have gotten to double digits if he didn’t rage quit. I honestly think the game predetermines a winner and will do everything in its power to make such they win.

Happy to see the big content creators finally speaking up about how poor the game is. This is what career mode players have been saying for years tho. Casual FUT players also have mentioned it. Its finally affecting the top and now we get the complaints. Again glad folks are saying something but the years of ignoring it becasue it wasn't affecting streamers and all the coin selling is why FUT is the only mode that gets any attention and why it so bad right now. The game is delayed offline too. Player touches turns passing all delayed. The ball has weird physics. It's as if it's a rock being thrown to the destination it's meant to go, and just lands there waiting.

Having the best connection is the biggest advantage in FUTChamps, you will never master the gamep play b/c of the random BS that happens. I have 4 pings and i can't even do a ball roll in champs with out a delay.

Gameplay is horrendous. Casuals have left, and fodder is nonexistent. Yet every decent SBC wants at least nine squads. We need the remaining player base to stand together and stop buying packs; it's the only way things will ever change, but it's not going to happen.

The physics in the game is funny. When the ball get defelcted by the keeper or players, the ball magically lands perfectly on a player foot 😅
I'm a bit disappointed in these UA-cam content creators. They are all saying the gameplay is bad, which it actually is but not addressing the issues that make the gameplay bad. I'll do my best to list out a few.
Defending:
For some weird reason, when the cursor is on your defender and trying to defend, the AI tries to run towards the attacker when you're trying to get in between the attacker and the goal post; instead the defender runs towards the attacker and the attacker obviously out runs the defender and scores.
Lobbed through pass:
When you're attacking and you do a lobbed through pass to your winger, many times the ball goes towards the goal, which isn't your intention because that would actually meet a defender and you'd lose your attack. Why the ball can't just go straight beyond the winger is beyond me.
Passes in front of goal:
When you're attacking and working up to score a goal and you try to pass the ball to the best person in front of goal, the game automatically selects the wrong person everytime. Why? I don't know. But it's programmed that way for some reason. I think it just tries to select the person with the closest proximity to the goal, which, most of the time isn't the best person to score and of course that messes up your chance to score.
Cursor change: pls don't get me started with this.
This is but to mention a few.
So saying I conceded goals and it was no fault of mine doesn't really explain anything.

I still have no idea why people play this online, especially spending money on it packs etc. way too much, is out of your control no matter how good you are. Technical issues aside, you never know when your keeper will do something silly, your defender takes a bad touch. Not much of a win or loss will be anything to do with skill. Career mode is the only reason I get the game, even that has its issues.
I’ve given up on champs, and barely do rivals now they lowered the points required.
Gameplay is soo sluggish, glitchy and unresponsive that it essentially is only a team building/card collecting game for me now.
I stopped playing when it basically just refused to save my tactics correctly. Every time I load up my save it bugs my tactics and I have to fix them before playing a match, which is a nightmare because of the awful UI they instituted.

I’m certainly a casual player. Life doesn’t allow me the time to play 20 games of rivals and most certainly not champs now as I’m very average at the game. Previous games have still been fun, played the odd champs etc, built a good team, completed a lot of sbcs. It’s not possible to that in this game. I’m a Pes player at heart based on age. Gameplay was a lot of fun back in the day. Football gaming desperately needs an alternative and ea may be unintentionally making room for one.

A million issues on this game, but I think the biggest in my opinion has to be the reliance on abusing broken in game tactics to succeed. I was lucky enough to pack Vini last week when he was 1.4 million coins and was so pumped to use him. But unless I’m annoyingly holding lb/L1 until someone presses and then just speed boosting around them, there’s hardly any difference between him and my Rashford evo that cost like 50k. Every champs game is either people speed boosting and shot canceling, or running straight down the line and passing in the box from the baseline.
I really enjoy trading and have 3 million in the account right now and see no reason to upgrade anything since I’m just trying to play tiki taka. Decided I’m just going to do a Madrid past and present with Benz and Ronaldo up top to make it feel like it is Fifa 17 again.

Absolutely great video. This summed it all up for me. I was doing my usual insane grind. Every objective. Every game mode. Every SBC. The FOMO was real. My LAN port on PS5 broke (and the game can't be played on WiFi obv) so I sent it off to get fixed. While waiting I downloaded BO6 as free on Xbox. Haven't played since BO2. It's great. It's really enjoyable and when I get in a tough lobby, I feel like I'm only losing because the other players are better. Even when I forget to plug in the LAN cable I usually don't notice the difference. PS5 came back. Put loan Mbappe and Rodman in my NWSL/Real/Serie A team and played 2 games. Both were awful won the second game 6-1 and hated every minute. Turned it off. Went back to BO6. And I now only play clubs and that's more for the social aspect. The game is trash and we just accept it. Other AAA. Titles show that smooth, consistent, fair gameplay is achievable and we shouldn't accept anything else. Even when I didn't play the game I used to do a lot of menu grinding. I've now run out of fodder so I'm gone until the 84x10 repeatable surfaces
Started to play in fifa 18 and till fifa 22 it always got better but since fifa 23 and especially since last year it is going down hill in a very fast tempo. And the fact that the only thing they can do right is bringing out loads of new store packs (even tho they also make many mistakes with this for example the hero pack wich said you were guaranteed an icon) makes me really mad i just want the fun game it used to be back
To be honest, I hope that UFL will make EA look into the mirror and scratch their backs so bad. Because they need to indeed make a huge change in the game and add more things that will get everyone excited.
Lets say for example: Co-op Weekend league, where you and a friend of yours can play the game together and get rewards together with maybe a way that you can both combine your teams and play with the best of each others Ultimate team. And just simple the option to play 2v2 with friends without having to crack a difficult code and just normally invite the ones you want to play against.
And for sure I would like to see more tournaments stuff inside Ultimate Team with the theme of the real life football events like the Champions League. EA has the licenses right correct me if I'm wrong but it would be fun to actually play a Champions League theme game mode inside or outside Ultimate team to get packs, coins, and maybe special cards: UCL,UEL, and Conference League.
Online career mode: Just like the mobile app OSM where you can invite each other in 1 or more competitions and just play against each other. But then that you can actually play the game if you want and control your players like you have now in career mode obviously. But with the option to sim if you should schedule a match against a friend of yours for example. so if lets say 1 of you guys is Liverpool and the other is Man Utd and 1 cannot play at the date that your match is scheduled the games gets automatically simmed. But if you were both down to play against each other. You just play vs each other like a normal match. And maybe for the ones without friends that you have the ability to join other career modes from people around the world.
And of course just realistic fun and simple good gameplay. With more details to the players especially the players in the spotlights like Icons, heroes, and big stars that are still playing in real life to take it to the maximum level of making them unique as possible. Just like E football is doing with bringing out cards like Lionel Messi '09 that looks exactly like how he looked in 2009. I think if EA would do that as well it would be a lot more fun to play with certain types of cards especially flashbacks cards or other promos where you see that on the cards itself for example Mbappe his TOTY Card where he had blue hair that you will see him play with blue hair if you have his TOTY and if you have the normal one just his normal color hair so that the card is made special in a different kind of way then they are doing now already.
I don't know about you guys but in my opinion this would make the game way more fun to me.
