Only thing about 4 people in my household being positive for covid is that it's given me time to catch up on the last 5 months of videos for yourself, Phil and Gerry Happy new year to you and your family
You could get netting that would slow the wind coming into the shed, a neighbour has them and there is no looking back you can also lift them up out of the way and they stop the rain from coming in.
As a one man farmer Adrian it’s a good job you are so multi talented. A happy new year, good health and prosperity to you and your lovely family, keep those brilliant videos coming when you can find time. Keith
Hi Bro,my Dad would always cover the mower bar in old oil to help preserve it from rust, soon cleans up once you start mowing next spring. Keep up the good work, really enjoy your honesty and down to earth farming. Certainly wouldn't want to farm in Ireland, can't bet the Waikato in in New Zealand 😁
I'm new to this channel and have watched a few videos already and I'm looking forward to catching up on the rest Adrian is a top man and a very good farmer. He could of done many things in life.He has great hands and a great thinking brain. He is also a great father.well done
Good morning Adrian,,interesting video about the loader, great to see Bailey and Hudson keeping a eye on you,and nice to see new life at the start of a new year, hope all calving goes well for you.
Your videos are so interesting and it brings me back to the years on the family farm during the 1950 & '60s. Things have really changed to hopefully make a farmer's life easier. Hope you and your family have a Happy & Healthy New Year.....................
On our old quicke loader we had soft ride and on the joy stick there was two buttons and a little flick switch below the buttons. One worked the 3rd service and the other did nothing but the flick switch was the on/off for the soft ride. To be honest I left the soft ride on all the time and it done 4500h before needing a new accumulater. I just thought it was kinder on the tractor to just leave it on.
with the mower its a good job to power wash it and then spray it with oil all over it and put it in the shed for the winter we do it at home and its a brilliant job all u need is an air compressor and a oil sprayer
Fierce good of Hudson to give you a push in with that mixer. First class video yet again Adrian, keep them coming. Hope you and the family have a great 2022
I have had soft drive for over 20 years and never turn it off with the grab around the yard it takes the shock out over bumps even at low speed and I have never damaged a accumulator .My taps siezed on my first few loaders the newer electric ones I have to turn off to make the loader double active.
Good man Adrian, Happy new year to you and the family. I always take photos with the camera phone before dismantling anything, it makes reassembly a doddle.
Good man Adrian,I knew it wouldn't be an issue to you to get that sorted. Hopefully there won't be too many late night deliveries for you during calving season. Happy New year to you and the family 👍🏼
Now I know what a soft drive is, those accumulators are like the ones you used to see on the old box Citreons back in the day. I think Rolls Royce also used them. Great video.
Adrian if your putting a switch in the cab for the soft-drive, be sure and put a light or a flashing light or a buzzer in too. It's very easy to forget these things are on or off when you get used to the convenience of not having to get out of the cab every time to switch it on or off.
Your handy man Adrian, and you have some good hand tools whats your back ground, not just farming I am guessing, great job on the loader and spot on filming very professional, hope you had a good new year and all the best for 2022 good luck
I’ve always loved working on things, it’s very satisfying even if it takes 3 times as long. Self thought as a went along and learnt from mistakes made. Thanks George
Great video adrian. I use to drive a cat 972 loading shovel .the easy ride could be turned on to automatic and as soon as I went above 10mph it would kick in . It's a great job
Yay it's calving time! I love all the aspects of your videos (in part because you present it so well) but I do love seeing the calves especially, they're so cute.
Good to see the soft loader doing it's job, Albeit permanently! I'd imagine you'd want to be able to take the softness out of the loader when doing yard work for sure. Soft tool isn't much use! 🤣
The idea with leaving it on is that 2 new accumulators are cheaper than wear in the front axle Loading shovels have soft ride built in and it’s never turned off
Brilliant video Adrian I have the soft yoke on our loader they are a super job I never turn mine off I never saw the weight block on your Massey it's a fine job I love your shed set up especially for calving it must make life so handy around calving time
Maybe some roller doors might suit that side. Nice handy shed to have you wouldn’t want to lose it. Soft ride will make a big difference to the loader.
So much better having smooth ride on a loader, its a right pain in the back side without it as you know. I very rarely turn mine off on my quicke and it moves thousands bales of straw in the summer like it, only times I really turn it off is if I need to put downward pressure on the loader to push the loads up a bit or for example, lift the front axle off the ground a bit.
Once you have softride you'll never switch it off. The more weight you have on loader the better it works. I've had softride for 25 yrs, saves the front axle shock. And the operators back.
Great job Adrian, soft drive makes it so much easier on man & machine. We have it on a similar Quickie / MF loader here for over 10 years. We rarely switch it off. Only time might be loading sand or muck where you are pushing hard into the load. Never had a problem with the accumulator failing. Happy New Year to you and yours.
@@IFarmWeFarm the one I had had two buttons, one for the third service, the other was connected up for anything, possibly for hydraulic quick attachment and a flicker switch under them, right to left for the soft drive. There is also soft drive on the 3 point linkage of that massey. Put 12k hours up on a 08 5455 then it all went wrong!🤑
Good work on getting the soft drive to work on the loader, you stuck at it and figured it out, the simplest way I can describe how it works is basically if you cut the pressure pipe to a hydraulic lift ram, fit a T piece to join it again, the accumulator screws into the part of the T piece thats left so it acts like a shock absorber for the hydraulic oil, accumulators need pressurised with Nitrogen depending on the application and weight they are lifting to usually around 300- 350 bar (4410 - 5145 PSI), it will give you the pressure stamped into the side of the accumulator. JCB had it years ago on their diggers, they called it SRS which was Smooth Ride System and it was unbelievable good when you drove the digger on the road.
Soft ride is a must on a loader, some of the alo loaders were wired ready for soft ride and had a little toggle switch on the front of the joystick, also some loaders the two accumulators are different capacities one in raise and one in lower circuit, you might want to check their the right way round, if not to rusty the capacities should be stamped in them, probs 0.75l and 0.5l approx. Cheers Adrian hope this was of some use👍
You could bolt the ratchet straps to the outside of back wall of shed and bring them over the roof and ratchet the down at the front in 3 points permanent solution for now as we would say great videos
Fair play to you as always Adrian, great job. The netting would keep alot of wind out of the shed I'd say. A very happy new Year to you and your lovely wife and family. A credit to you 👏.
Long time follower first time poster. I hope you and your family had a lovely Christmas and new year. It’s great to see such well looked after Animals, machinery and farm.
Well done great video have you ever heard of downer cow syndrome just lost one on Friday she got a fall in Parlour and when lifted her she could Walk no problem but she lay down couldn't get up happy new year 👍🚜
Yes heard of it surely, first thing I’d do is get Calcium and Magnesium into her. Could be pressure on her spin too. Hope she gets up. Have a great new year mate 👍
Bolt a rsj into the slab each side of the poles give you a mounting point for rollers doors with the wall the other side done the same myself made a massive job
Hi Adrain, happy new year to you and the whole family. Great videos, keep up the good work! Regarding your shed issue, i feel the span is too wide for roller doors, but feel a pair of sliding doors would work very well. You will need two full length tracks, so one door slides across in front of the other. Only disadvantage is that you can ever only have half the shed open! Perhaps you might consider joining a new shed on to the front? More space for machines and the new doors would serve both! Or side entry!
We have a big shed at home with big sliding doors. One of the door runs on tracks on the ground using 3 or 4 inch diameter bearings. The doors are large enough to drive any tractor into the shed.
Check out faster hydraulics couplers Multifast coupler. 2 port coupler. Makes taking the shear grab off really easy and quick. Fitted one to our loader years ago. Fit one to bale squeeze aswell.
How do you find time to do the video’s, when I was on the farm I didn’t have a minute to myself and only managed a hobby after I had left the farm, Thank you for your time and effort it’s very much appreciated.
Only thing about 4 people in my household being positive for covid is that it's given me time to catch up on the last 5 months of videos for yourself, Phil and Gerry
Happy new year to you and your family

What a wonderful specimen of a calf to start off the new year, lovely appearance and colours and mirrors our optimism for the future- great
As a one man farmer Adrian it’s a good job you are so multi talented. A happy new year, good health and prosperity to you and your lovely family, keep those brilliant videos coming when you can find time. Keith
Thanks Keith
isn't it nice to have thm pothole roads to test out ur softride on ur loader😀😀😀 o happy new year to ye all

Great video Adrian and helped me a lot fitting a soft drive on my loader.
Great content, positive and bright as ever. The show goes on, Happy New Year.

Hello from Moosomin, Saskatchewan, Canada. Thanks for sharing your great video’s please keep them coming
Good morning Adrian,,interesting video about the loader, great to see Bailey and Hudson keeping a eye on you,and nice to see new life at the start of a new year, hope all calving goes well for you.
Smashing heifer calf. A good start is nice.
Your videos are so interesting and it brings me back to the years on the family farm during the 1950 & '60s. Things have really changed to hopefully make a farmer's life easier. Hope you and your family have a Happy & Healthy New Year.....................
Sort ride is similar to the Citroen hydraulic suspension, sound idea behind the idea of the soft ride. Not a farmer but I enjoy your videos, good work
Very interesting thanks
Great man too get a job finished, no messing around, may ye have a safe calving season and a happy new year 😊

Good man Adrian, Happy new year to you and the family.
I always take photos with the camera phone before dismantling anything, it makes reassembly a doddle.
Yes without a doubt that’s a great thing to do, it has got me through many’s a though job 😜👍
Start of the busy time for you good luck with it
When u get the 20 going should make up a silage pusher for it and get a scraper for the yard be nice jobs for it
Great video Adrian your better being safe than sorry 👍
Great video Adrian, best wishes for 2022
Good man Adrian,I knew it wouldn't be an issue to you to get that sorted.

New life, class, thanks for the vids Adrian 👍 and happy new year
Now I know what a soft drive is, those accumulators are like the ones you used to see on the old box Citreons back in the day. I think Rolls Royce also used them. Great video.
Yes the earlier Citroens would be very similar, I rather the Rolls Royce once any day 😜

You should put a wind curtain like a blind pull up and down on that shed Happy New Year Hope it a lot better .
Grate video as ever many happy returns to you and your family. Hopefully calfing goes well .how many ate you going to calf for now best of luck 👍
Yay it's calving time! I love all the aspects of your videos (in part because you present it so well) but I do love seeing the calves especially, they're so cute.
Adrian you could get shutter doors for that machinery shed. They are so handy to have
Good to see the soft loader doing it's job, Albeit permanently!
I'd imagine you'd want to be able to take the softness out of the loader when doing yard work for sure. Soft tool isn't much use! 🤣
Very true 🤣🤣
The idea with leaving it on is that 2 new accumulators are cheaper than wear in the front axle
Loading shovels have soft ride built in and it’s never turned off
Pozdrowienia z Polski. Dobra robota
Great detail videos improving all the time nice healthy calf
Keep up the good work
We had a 105x with a quickie. Paint faded on that one as well. Happy New Year!
Great video again Adrian. U needed more than a soft drive. On them roads u on.👍
Ya that’s for sure 🙈
Brilliant video Adrian I have the soft yoke on our loader they are a super job I never turn mine off I never saw the weight block on your Massey it's a fine job I love your shed set up especially for calving it must make life so handy around calving time
roll up wind breakers would be ideal in that shed great video
Yea accumulators do look like Citroën and Bentley ones happy new year Adrian an family an all subscribers 👍👍
Get a curtain from a truck trailer you can pull it across when needed and not that expensive.
Thanks for that I willing be looking for one for my tractor

Happy new year Adrian and family. Hope Elena is feeling better
Growing very well
Great video Adrian, never heard of a soft drive before handy yoke.
Another good video Adrian, Happy new year to you and the family 👍🏻
Glad it's gliding along nicely for you. Nice work on the vid. Stay safe sir 🏴
Nice one Adrian, great to be fit to fix your own machinery, happy new year to you and your Family!
And to you mate 👍
You can get a quicke joystick with the soft drive switch built into it. My old loader only had 1 accumulater connected to the lift pipe.
There’s 2 switches on the joystick we have, one for the third action and the other does nothing. Presumed it was for a fourth action
@@IFarmWeFarm the one I had had two buttons, one for the third service, the other was connected up for anything, possibly for hydraulic quick attachment and a flicker switch under them, right to left for the soft drive. 1st video of 2022 best of luck with the channel this year now 💪💪

happy new year Adrian all the best for 2022 we will be watching for you. Best wishes with all your calfing , hope they are all healthy.

You could try a roller door Adrian, think that might be best for your shed doorway,
You could bolt the ratchet straps to the outside of back wall of shed and bring them over the roof and ratchet the down at the front in 3 points permanent solution for now as we would say great videos

Thanks very much Mike, hope you have a happy and healthy 2022 mate
Hi you could hang gates (2/3/4 gates) and put stokboard on the gates on the front of the shed.
Well done great video have you ever heard of downer cow syndrome just lost one on Friday she got a fall in Parlour and when lifted her she could Walk
no problem but she lay down couldn't get up happy new year 👍🚜

Bolt a rsj into the slab each side of the poles give you a mounting point for rollers doors with the wall the other side done the same myself made a massive job
Great vids Adrian 🙂
I enjoy that video like all of them
You could get roller doors for the shed and make brackets for the mechanism to stand on so it doesn't strain the shed
Hi Adrain, happy new year to you and the whole family. Great videos, keep up the good work!
Regarding your shed issue, i feel the span is too wide for roller doors, but feel a pair of sliding doors would work very well. Perhaps you might consider joining a new shed on to the front? More space for machines and the new doors would serve both! Or side entry!
Just a suggestion but maybe some second hand roller shutter doors on the front of your shed would also help a bit with security
Yes roller doors might work, security is quite good due to the access and it’s surroundings. But it’s always a great help to have doors for sure
I never realised you could fit them on those loaders, I'm going out now to see if I have fittings on mine.
Might I suggest when you are tidying up the loader to pull all pins and check for ware. Might not always have been fully greased.
Yes I will do just that, I think it had been sitting a while and that’s why those pins spun around
Happy New year to you all
Galebreaker. Ah nitrogen my favourite inert gas. Love how your cows know the routine.
We have a big shed at home with big sliding doors. One of the door runs on tracks on the ground using 3 or 4 inch diameter bearings. The doors are large enough to drive any tractor into the shed.
Happy new year to you and your family Adrian great video 👍👍👍🤣🤣🤣🤣
You could put lifting door up on the shed
Great video Adrian Happy New year to you and the family
You could get a roller door for the shed they would bold onto the pillar and go straight up
Check out faster hydraulics couplers Multifast coupler. 2 port coupler. Makes taking the shear grab off really easy and quick. Fitted one to our loader years ago. Fit one to bale squeeze aswell.
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU FAM
Happy New year Adrian. Quickie have a joystick with a switch on it for the soft ride which is a great job
Lovely video as all ways 👍🏻
Happy new year to you Adrian and family
Nice one Adrian and Happy new year 👍🏻
Great addition to a loader. On a bumpy road could save a concussion😂
There’s no roads that will test it as good as ours 😜
Great video
First 😜
Well third then 😁
I'm fourt then
Happy new year
Send me a hat or cap down to kerry
Roller doors would be a proper job on that shed Adrian. Good vid 👍
Very good
How do you find time to do the video’s, when I was on the farm I didn’t have a minute to myself and only managed a hobby after I had left the farm, Thank you for your time and effort it’s very much appreciated.
Ya it takes up quite a bit of extra time but its enjoyable. I do all my edit late at night so it doesn’t interfere with my day jobs. Thanks Roger
Roller door be best job for your shed put them on shed similar we lost milking parlour roof and cubicle shed in that storm in 95
Very informative about the soft drive there. I'm guessing if the lever doesn't move at all, it is seized? Asking for a friend👀.
Roller shutters would be good but expensive for your shed Adrian
