I like the older one more but thematically it sounds better for the newer one in game. That’s being said more people need to know the old version exists because it slaps harder then sunny with a knife
The older song is so badass, definitely fitting, just not with all the other osts. I understand it probably would have blended in better with other previous versions
I think the old one would be fit for the friends in headspace boss rush, which we could maybe fight them individually but whatever what we got is more in context and I like fighting them all together
My dumb theory/guess on what’s up with that unused OST: That unused theme was originally gonna be the theme whenever you fight Aubrey in Faraway Town. But the composer/game crew went “Nah, “Leave Me Alone” & “It Means Everything” will work better”. And the melody got repurposed for the fight with Aubrey’s gang as a whole. And they didn’t just use that OST as a whole because it sounded a bit too hardcore for the Hooligans as a whole. Let’s face it, Aubrey is the only hardcore member of the group. The rest consists of dorks trying to look tough (Kim, Angel & The Maverick) & big guys that aren’t completely into the tough guy act (Vance & Charlie).
@@dylanzlol7293 There are unused sprites of Charlie getting angry in the game files, along with the other emotions for the rest of the Hooligans. So I guess there’s no need to completely imagine that.
The Church battle was supposed to have a Ultra Instinct Aubrey phase with this as a theme, though Aubrey's ability to activate Ultra Instinct has never been considered non-canon
It's funny how the official art ranges from doodles made in 5 minutes, a specific art out of an entire image of sketches with very odd amount of focus put into it (more noticeable on the actual "post"), and memery. Talking about memery, what is Aubrey's hair-tie doing in the last image?
Personally think the new one is better than the unused one, the unused one just sounds too complicated to me, can't focus on any of the beats and melodies.
Honestly I feel like the old ost songs and the new ones wouldn’t go well together, even if only one was replaced. The old osts give off a 2010’s feel and the new ones give off a 2020’s feel, which completely changes the concept of the game vs the concept of omoriboy/beta Omori. Life was pretty different in the 2010’s then how it is now, and I think it would put the game in a different perspective (that goes for beta designs too lol) Personally, I feel like the old osts fit beta Omori since it was made in 2014, rather than using them for the ones they kept now.
imo the old one sounds too cluttered; the guitar is overshadowing LITERALLY everything. it's mostly apparent at the transition at 0:12. (you might have to start at 0:11 to hear it) though, i would like a guitar cover of Swirly 1000x
the older one sounds amazing but doesnt exactly fit the other songs in the game so it makes sense it was scrapped. i prefer the older one to be honest but like i said, it doesnt exactly fit what omori is now
am I really the only one here who doesn’t like the old one? It just sounds like some kid mixing and mashing all their favorite instruments together, however I do enjoy the end bit of it
Well the new version fits the game better but I can't ignore the epicness of the old one.
true
I totally agree, The new version is a radical for me, the old one? Epic 😎🤙
the old one sounds epic but I understand why it isnt used in game, having such an epic soundtrack during a not so epic moment would kill the mood
The old version definitely would have fit the old version of the game best, not better or worse, just different.

They're both equally good in my opinion, but the new one is more in context.

THE UNUSED VERSION IS SO GOOOD
The new one a lot more defined and clear
The old one is frizzled and chaotic
Love them both
what if one were to transition into the other?
as a rock enjoyer, the old one is hella better
the little drone-like instrumental really changes the whole feel of the song huh...?
I'm so happy to know that the official art for that second one exists
Very average breakcore musics be like:
Sounds like a Sonic Adventure 2 song to me.

I really like the unused version ,kinda takes her style
