  • The phrase "if you want a job well done, do it yourself" suggests that tasks are best completed by oneself rather than relying on others, as others may not meet the same standards[1][2][3].
Regarding professional carpenters, there is no specific evidence of a widespread shift in skill levels. However, sloppy work by professionals can result from various factors, including lack of experience, inadequate training, or time constraints.
*Work Ethic* refers to the principle that hard work is intrinsically virtuous or worthy of reward. It involves dedication, responsibility, and professionalism in one's job.
The world's best carpenters are often found in countries with strong traditions in craftsmanship, such as Germany, Japan, and Italy.

Yes, we all wait for the rain. It is nice to have a roof that does what it's designed for. Thanks for the walk around.

Very nice to see your ducks and geese! 👍 They look happy.
Putting a membrane on top of your roof deck and below the clay tile should do the job. The slope of the roof is too flat for clay tile. I hope buying and laying the membrane goes smoothly.
If it is available, add "drip edge" to the sides and low end of the roof to protect your membrane. It should not be very expensive, it will keep the end grain of the deck boards dry and it will look good from the ground.
Have a good Sunday Martin 😊

Thanks for the video. I think the fowl might be getting the "family feelings" in the spring, so you might begin to see them laying and roosting early next year. At least that would be my best guess. The roof is not leaking when it's not raining......I would go so far as to say, that is the case with most things. That carpenter sounds like a bit of an "insert alternate word for donkey here" (hey, we have to keep YT happy, right? 🙂 ) Take care.

Out here on the highveld of south Africa we have been having summer weather with highs of 32 degrees Celsius and the temperature suddenly plummeted to 5 degrees Celsius yesterday and it's 4 degrees Celsius tonight with much of the country covered in snow with roads closed and severe weather conditions all round. Next week sometime our local weather will go back up to 30 degrees. Unfortunately we didn't get any rain or snow just bitterly cold weather with a lot of wind and dust
